I've been following you since...oh I don't know... 2008? And I remember all the cuts and bangs and space buns and the colors you would put in your hair and the accessories and extensions and those colorful tubes and chains and things and it really inspired me to see my hair as an expression of myself. I style it in a pin-up way to feel close to my love of old hollywood films now. I think your hair now really suits you -- the color and the length. It really matches the aura that you give me. I can't believe kids found a way to make fun of long, beautiful hair! They were just determined to find you to be weird. Kids did the same thing when I put my hair in a bun. Like what is wrong? Lol. Thank you for the advice and I put the dates on my calendar! 💕 I.L.U.

I love you, Moon Mama, but hair and nails don't grow after death. The skin around them dehydrates and shrinks, which gives them the *appearance* of growth, but once the body is dead, it's dead. Sorry; I don't want to be argumentative but I have a background in health care 😣
Also jojoba oil does good things for your hair and nails! When I started slathering jojoba on my cuticles, my nails became SO strong and healthy. Much love, Moon fam! 🌒🖤🌘
Edit: also, gently brushing your hair frequently can aid in growth, as stimulating your scalp draws more blood to the hair follicles, and so more nutrients and oxygen get brought up in that blood. Gently, though, and only when dry, so you don't damage or weaken your hair shafts, which causes breakages and fallout.

Seriously though mental health is key for healthy long hair. Every time I’m so stressed out my hair thins out a lot. I’m Native American and used to cut my hair a lot when I was younger and I noticed that’s when I’ve had my worst relationships. Romantic, familial and friendships. I just couldn’t pick up on the negative signs so I continued to let awful people get close to me. For anyone who bleach’s their hair use a very low volume bleaching solution like 10 or 20. I bleach mine and I only do it 2 times year and I never bleach the same spots twice if I can. Natural stains for my favorite for hair. I recommend Arctic Fox and Manic Panic because they don’t need to be activated with chemicals and they can be left on for hours. I once left it one for over 24 hours until it dried. Stress management is number 1 in hair care.

These are all very good tips! Coconut oil is the beeessst!
I have a tip for all you moonbabies with naturally CURLY hair!
    1) Skip the shampoo and use conditioner only when washing! Wash with cold water! After washing, I like to use Cantu Coconut Curling Cream and leave it in.
    2) Use the Denman Brush! That brush does wonders for curly hair! You will have beautiful bouncy locks with this brush. I swear by it!
    3) Most people like to use a defuser for drying their curls but i have the best luck with my curls by air drying.

@@IGot7RevtinyArmyStayOnceBlink Yaaas! 😍💖 I think It's important to encourage curly hair care because It's different from having straight hair. I feel like there's alot of pressure where straight hair is considered the standard of beauty and people with curly hair are always being pushed to straighten and then they feel insecure about their curls. But all hair, in all its shapes and sizes are beautiful! If you're naturally curly, you should EMBRACE your curls! It's like Kerli mentioned, The human hair is like a form of antenna to send and receive vibrations to others. However, It's believed that the curlier the hair, the more intense the vibrations were. That is why the long curly hair became such a trend during the 1970s among Rock stars. 😎

Random another tip to keep anyone’s hair strong is eat foods with high amounts of protein. A clean diet in general will help a lot. Any proteins should be ok. Whether it’s plant based or meat. That should really help strengthen your hair. I personally try to eat a lot of fish, chicken, eggs. I was vegetarian for awhile & I noticed a difference. I eventually went back to eating meat sparingly or on occasion. I believe my hair has been in better shape. Also I eat a lot of vegetables, avocados, & blueberries regularly.

These are wonderful tips! I have been growing my hair out and not coloring or cutting it for almost 5 years now. In my youth, it was every color of the rainbow. I have also heard witch hazel is good for moisturizing the scalp. I'm curious what your thoughts are. I use it for my face and scalp and it seems to be working wonders, as I use to suffer from bad dandruff. I also have a friend that makes a scalp scrub. It is 100% natural and made with mostly salts. I highly suggest it. Healthy scalp=healthy hair. I love that you mentioned the Native American hair culture as my husband is part Osage and when we married, his advice led me to take better care of my hair. He is also the one who taught me that walking barefoot, and taking care of your feet is very important to your physical and mental health ❤. Love and light to you Kerli! About coconut oil for use on hair ... My hairdresser says that using coconut oil is not good in the long run. Although the hair appears smooth and shiny at first, coconut oil becomes a barrier that prevents the hair from repelling water, causing dehydration in the hair. I'm just saying coconut oil shouldn't be used on hair

Hi Kerli! Big long time fan of yours! Its amazing to see your growth and how long you’ve come. I would just like to say, as a professional hairdresser, I would heavily advise AGAINST coconut oil in the hair! Its great for some hair types, mainly coarser, thicker hair strands, because you guys have the cuticles wide enough to accent the molecules of the coconut oil into your hair! But for other people who do not have coarse hair strands, it can have the opposite effect of drying out the hair and causing breakage, due to the coconut oil not being absorbed and instead just sitting on top of the cuticle, acting almost as a barrier. It might feel great for a while! But eventually you’ll notice a lot more breakage.
Just a word of caution! God bless. ❤️

I agree with mental health, I have two types of alopecia I’m mentally healthy after years of struggle- actually the diagnosis helped me calm down. the hair I’ve lost will never come back, the follicles are gone but what hair I have is healthy and strong. I was rx Spironolactone and that’s helped a lot.
I can’t use coconut oil its too heavy for my fine curly hair - after years of trying every product I realize less is more for my hair type. So for that reason I love my Kangen water And I think that makes a big difference, the water is perfect for my hair. Now i only use baby shampoo and my Kangen water. I get lots of comments how beautiful it is. It’s thin, very thin and fine but what I have cherish it and it’s beautiful and healthy.
Oh and eating lots and lots of vegetables and staying away from processed foods and refined sugars.
Any one watching this if you’re losing lots of hair but I would recommend going to your dermatologist ASAP they can preform a biopsy and you’ll get a diagnosis that will help with your mental health and energy.

The American Indian story is from the Vietnam War era. It is not about people "in captivity," I laughed when you used this term. The US Military explored a lot of unconventional ways of fighting Vietcong guerillas. For example, the US military actually deployed dowsing rods in Vietnam to find Vietcong tunnels. Dowsing rods were associated with witchcraft and con artists. There were people who were tested for certain kinds of unconventional skills. Basically, we are talking about having an exceptional ability to detect when someone is coming or where someone is, ect. Things that might be called a "sixth sense." The allegation is that several American Indian men with long hair performed extremely well. However, once they were given regulation military haircuts, their ability to perform these skills declined. Of course, this could be exaggerated. We really don't know. I finally started growing my hair out in 2017 and now I love it. I now have nightmares about getting my hair cut. I spent most of my life wanting long hair, but I would always get aggravated once it got shaggy and I would chop it off.

I also use a oil blend from different essential oils to help protect it. Your advice Kerli is the same I give everyone else, love yourself, use coconut oil everywhere, and be gentle. Exercising daily in nature helps me overall. I also only brush my hair with a wide comb. It helps prevent damage. I also try not to touch my head or hair often, because of the oils on my hands from whatever I come in contact during work make it weighted and dull. Hope this helps anyone with natural curls!

I love this video! I also try to avoid blow drying my hair and if I do I use a heat protectant. If I go in the sun a lot I use a hair sunscreen. I use biosilk on it to keep it strong and shiny. And I take collagen peptides with hyaluronic acid daily for my hair and skin. Collagen completely changed my hair and skin, and my hair grows really fast now. My nails are really strong and grow fast too. My skin got really clear and I actually look younger now than I did a year ago. Highly recommend! Thank you for the tip about cutting hair by the moon and coconut oil. I’m going to add both into my routine ❤

I've been so worried so so much because of my hair for years and my mental health was severely affected by so many reasons and some of them I had no idea what was happening because it was all psychological but my hair was one of the reason out of all. I just really fuc*** them up with so much overthinking and stress. I've been having Social anxiety disorder and I had no idea what exactly it was when I started having those symptoms. I ruined years after years giving myself so much pain that only god knows. Everyone's words affecting me so much and that I was fighting with my own thoughts. Some says now that I make so much excuse but they didn't know the struggle that I've been through all alone. I liked your tips, I also like coconut oil. Though I've lost so much hair but I can only wish for.

Love all of it - I personally don't use any shampoos or conditioners on my hair - I do an herbal oil treatment I made from herbal infusions (horsetail, nettle alfalfa, lavender) add a little bit of peppermint and tea tree EO and a tiny bit of castille soap, avocado oil. Wash hair with that, let it sit at least 10 mins then rinse. Hair will still be oily - leave it in at least overnight but I usually do a full 24-48 hrs. Then I wash it out with egg yolks - wet hair, carefully work through egg yolks - you can use a comb or a wet brush. Let sit at least 10 mins. Rinse out :) amd that's how I clean my hair once a week - I too have long hair like yours and stopped dying it about a year and a half ago. I haven't tried cutting my hair with the moon but I will now :)

    • @auroradywnn2025
      @auroradywnn2025 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@As Above So Below the secret is only using the yolks - if you use all of the egg it definitely will do that!! Also the less you wash your hair the less oil it produces. It's taken me a full 6 months to get to a point where my hair isnt oily anymore. I was the girl that had to wash her stick straight thin greasy long hair every day because it was so oily - so I get where you're coming from. Also getting a boar bristle brush to help distribute the oils from your scalp to the rest of your hair really helps. Basically it just takes a while for your hair to adjust, you gotta be patient...but to me its been totally worth it. I like it alot because I do feel my magic/energy is very connected to my hair. And in treating my hair this way, I don't strip the energy from it. But to each their own ❤️

i like coconut oil and keratin oil.
i tried argon oil, but didn't like it for superficial reasons. I tried the two at the same time to do a comparison and keratin oil seemed better, but the difference is so minor that it doesn't matter. I prefer keratin because it smells a thousand times better.

Hi new sub here! I’m glad Your channel popped up in my suggestions. I can relate when you talked about being bullied for your gorgeous hair. I too chopped mine all off out of constant teasing, Probably made my school frienemies rejoice.
Great hair tips, Thank you for sharing them! I’ll have to try these. If I have any hair tips to offer, I do Low-poo on the scalp with gentle massage, Co-wash only on the ends. Ive seen pretty amazing results from in my opinion. I have wavy thick hair that frizzes up easy and gets oily after day 3-5 so I can’t get away with no-poo. Washing it way less now and retraining it rebalances the scalp. I didn’t realize how drying daily washing/conditioning actually was. Takes time to get used to it, and the feeling of oily hair drove me nuts for a while. I Cheat with dry shampoo on oily days only when I know I will be absolutely washing it out later, it could jam up the hair follicles. Been low-poo, Co-wash for almost a year, now I deal with little to no dander, less grays because of more scalp circulation and the frizz is under control (without hairspray). Just use argan oil on the ends and brush it very little each day. My hair grows fast now, Past my hips...I chopped it all off 3 yrs ago. Never again, now that I know it’s my psychic antennae!
