Weekly Wrap Up: #41, 2024 - Winter gardening has commenced! 🎉

Apparently, in the Netherlands, they have a 10-10-10-10 "rule" for planting garlic: 10th of October, 10cm deep and 10cm apart... Well, I don't live in the Netherlands but I did decide to start getting my winter stuff into the ground so I've planted the onions (red, white, and yellow) and the garlic (from what I harvested last season) and I have shallots waiting in the wings to get out as well as a bunch of weakling onions and shallots that I'll throw out in the garden somewhere and see what happens.
Driveway discussions are starting up again and I'm not exactly sure when any of that stuff will happen but I'm continuing to clean up as much as possible and get the garden ready for the winter.
This year, I'm hoping to have more success with onions (they all rotted last year), similar success with garlic and shallots as last winter, and ditto with the fava beans. I think I'll probably also head to the nursery and see if they have any brussel sprouts that I could plant because the snails ate my seedlings 😭 I have some scraggly things that I could put out but I don't know if they'll survive. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm still figuring things out 😂
