Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't that movie have like a ton of gore? I've never seen it because I hear it's super bloody. Not really something I would make my customers watch on repeat.
@@spiwolf6998 yeah it's definitely super gory. Lots of gunshot and head wounds. Like most of the people die I'm pretty sure. AND there are a lot of battle scenes and a lot of gunfire especially the last battle scene. So those guns and explosions constantly going off at top volume would have driven me crazy LOL.

I’m just imagining Ted stary eyed, talking to waiters eating his 7th basket of mozzarella sticks today while Ed is in the bathroom trying to calculate if he could consume a lethal amount of bathroom hand sanitizer before someone else came in and tried to stop him.

So in the bathrooms, the murals look painted and not like wallpaper or whatever, and they look very similar in style which leads me to believe that a long time ago one sad mural artist had a similar experience traveling across these United States to paint every rainforest cafe bathroom in the country
It’s more likely one artist painted a sample mural design, and freelance artists were hired in every location to paint them. It’s like scenic painting in theater, the designer hands you a small version and says “make it big” and you have to match the style.
Your idea is much more fun, of course.
This thought is invading my brain. I need to know if there’s a story here and if eddy is now going to be haunted because he made the same ill fated trip as the bathroom mural painter.

In the bathroom without monkeys, the artist took his own life. That was the true end of the journey, but eddy was young and naive. He continued his trek and thus sealed his fate as “forever cursed by the tropical rainforest cafe mural artist”

I just started the video because I was like dang I thought Ted this. Then jumped in halfway thru the video and he’s saying the bathroom monkeys are now his friends. I can’t wait to fully dissect this
My guess for why their moods are so different is that Eddy’s the one who drove the most/ whole way. I watched this while doing dishes so if I’m wrong it’s cuz I wasn’t watching the screen the whole time but tbh driving does that to ya

That is nothing compared to the absolutely horribly loud and obnoxious doorbell that rang everytime someone walked into Five Bellow, and even then an employee told me it became total background noise after day one.
I don't remember the the thunderstorms being that loud anyway and I was a huge of fan of this place at 5-10. if anything the elephant trumpeting is more startling.

Canada has much stricter food laws than us. Their food overall is way less processed, has less added chemicals, and more simple ingredients that are actually food.

I think I like Eddy's video more due to the mental breakdown.
I'd like to imagine a small B plot to this storyline, involving a traveling corporate training manager who went on a similar trip coincidentally at the same time. They arrive at each location to check up on things and make sure quality is good. Then they slowly get more and more paranoid that they're being followed by you two. It finally comes to an end at the last location when just as they're rushing to leave in order to avoid you guys, they spot you in the parking lot and have a mental breakdown.
This is an insanely good concept for a short story, wtf I would've never thought of this

Downtown Disney has a separate restaurant called T Rex Cafe which is also owned by the same parent company and is basically identical to Rainforest except it's dinosaur themed. I think this counts as a Rainforest Cafe and you should go back and eat there, too

They're definitely my comfort videos, both Eddy's and Ted's versions. Just perfect long form videos about an obscure restaurant chain I've always wanted to go to that are great to fall asleep to.
I love how for Ted the trip was like a religious pilgrimage, but Eddie basically just had a three week long mental breakdown.
One could say they both started as pilgrims and one grew to love their god more and the other became atheist by the end.

my favorite thing about the Disney Springs rainforest Cafe is it's like a 2 min walk from t-rex Cafe, which is literally the same concept but with Dinosaurs. Instead of a thunder storm every 20 minutes it's a meteor shower.

Yes! I remember eating there a few times with my family when we went on vacations to Orlando. I vaguely recall shutting my eyes and ears every time it happened. The worst part was that we were almost always seated in the blue section with a T-Rex skeleton stuck in the “ice” and every time a meteor shower happened, the room would turn hellfire red and blare the sound effects of dying dinosaurs to the max. Scared me so bad as a kid, but I think I remember liking the stuff on the kids menu.
Hmmm. Thinking about opening a chain restaurant of Space Cafes. Toystory acting like that idea wasn't rad as hell.

When Ted was a kid his parents would take him to rainforest cafe every year, at his request. After the divorce, it never really happened again. He went about his life with this rainforest cafe sized hole in his heart, he needed closure, and he wanted his best friend there with him. So, while eddy suffered for most of the trip, Ted was revisiting old friends, Ted was saying good bye. God bless you, Ted.

This reminded me of a brilliant article by Helen Rosner where she describes doing a tour of different Olive Gardens. She concludes that "there is only one Olive Garden, but it has a thousand doors". It seems like that doesn't really apply to Rainforest Cafe locations which is interesting.

I think rainforest cafes really capture a certain aspect of growing up where all of a sudden a place that seemed so magical turns into a rundown sad fishless fish tank of an experience. It’s such a weird feeling to think back on all the times you went to the mall and it was just slowly falling into disrepair more and more each time you visited and you didn’t really notice it until it was too late. Also the sign in front of the Ontario location used to have like a waterfall feature which was pretty cool
And the 🐊 used to come to life and pretend to open its mouth

For many years as a child I’ve walked by the Rainforest Cafe in Gurnee Mills mall longing for the day I would experience a dining experience in a jungle-like setting. But alas, my dreams were stopped short by a consistent “There’s food at home”, as I was whisked away to go home to my usual dried fish and rice dinner. Although from the looks of it I wasn’t missing much, your documentation of your Rainforest Cafe visits has cured my childhood trauma of never visiting one. My soul is lifted. You are a blessing.

If you're talking about Katy Mills, I went to the Cheesecake Factory there a few months ago out of curiosity and it was 'Eh'. The decor was fancy but it took a while to get my food when it was pretty empty and it wasn't too special outside of the bread.

I can't say I'm surprised by the lack of fish at some of these places. Went to the Galveston location when I was a kid and watched a couple of crabs pin down and kill a fish and scoop out it's eyeball. No one tried to stop it and one waiter simply commented "whoa that's not supposed to happen, that fish cost like 600 bucks"

At Disney Springs in Orlando, there’s another restaurant, the T-Rex Cafe, owned and operated by the same company that does Rainforest Cafe. It’s basically the same thing except Dinosaur-themed. Instead of a thunderstorm, there’s an astroid strike every 20 minutes, with all the dinosaur and mammoth animatronics losing their shit constantly. Used to really scare the crap out of me as a kid

i went to rainforest cafe in mall of america when i was like 10, and we didnt end up eating because my little sister had a panic attack and passed out from all the ambient sounds, i would rate the experience 3/5 stars

At 13:16 the reason the mouth looked like it was decaying off is because it was, most animatronics like that use latex. after a while latex will begin to decay and rot due to the fact that is a plant based material that hardens to make a rubber like substance and is mostly water. if left in direct sunlight or it is old the water will evaporate and the latex will begin to rot/decompose

As someone who still giggles like a child everytime I walk into one of the Rainforest Cafe restaurants, I laughed my ass off when you entered the Galveston restaurant and experienced the same miraculous wonder I experience everytime I go there.

As an ex Rainforest Cafe employee, I appreciate the attention to detail in learning the names of the animatronics… we all had to know their names + personalities. This was somehow more degrading than the fanny pack we had to wear, or screaming “VOLCANO” for the dessert… Also, I apologize for how many times you had to hear the Landry’s card pitch… You are a true hero ✊

oh man, when I used to be a busboy for Texas Roadhouse I would have loved to have a fanny pack- great place to keep your weed and one hitter so you can quickly fire off a couple hitters during a trash run. Really the only way to be a busboy at an extremely busy and shitty restaurant is to get really stoned and just stumble through your shift and plot with other busboys on ways to steal a keg from the walk in.

Landry’s had a discount card for all of their restaurants, where you get “a point for every dollar you spend. After 250 points, you get $25 dollars off.” It cost $25 to join, but on your next visit to another one of Landry”s restaurants, you’d get $25 off. We were supposed to pitch this to EVERY. SINGLE. TABLE, and it was just awful. The last thing anyone wants is to hear a sales pitch at a restaurant when they’re just trying to eat and enjoy the show of the restaurant. We had a lot of rules we were supposed to follow and things we had to say/recommend…
Also, I completely forgot the details of the card until typing this, and it came back so f*cking clear, that’s how often I had to do it lmfao.

I loved this video! I used to always want to go to the Rainforest Café in Burlington, MA, but I inevitably would be terrified of the thunderstorms. Tracy Tree became a sort of psycopomp for me, on my perilous journey to Just Okay food and Questionable-At-Best animatronics.

I loved rainforest cafe as a kid, and was sad to hear it was going out of business since that's where my hyper-fixation on animatronics was born. turns out, the only rainforest cafe left in illinois happened to be the one that my family and i frequented when i was young. my sister, my dad, and i went for my birthday as to say goodbye. food was terrible obviously. it was nice to be there and experience not only the thunderstorms but the young children (who, with their mother, were the only other ones in the restaurant) screaming and crying every 20 minutes. definitely satisfied my need to revisit what was my favorite restaurant as a kid.
I really do feel that Ted was personally screwing with Eddy by ordering Mozzarella sticks at every Rainforest Cafe.
My earliest memory is leaving that Nashville, Tennessee Rainforest Cafe with my uncle sometime in 2004. I live in michigan and never thought I would see that again. Thank you eddy.
