It's January 2021 and of course they haven't discontinued the CD reader. This only became a detachable feature, the tech companies never meant to phase out CD/DVD.

I am trying to insert the CD physically into the drive and somehow the drive is not taking it in. However, my computer is detecting the drive and when I click on eject, I hear some noises from inside the drive. Can anyone help me out with this. I don't want to force push the cd as it may damage the CD or the drive.
Ok I've done as instructed..I have an adaptor to connect and the Superdrive will not load...what gives...I see yours accept your Simpson disk but mine will not...help

@@GalaxyNexus1 The LG GP57EB40 (or something like that...you can easily find the model on LG official site in any case, there are only a handful). It costs around 25-30 bucks on Amazon, and it works perfectly on both Mac and Windows. :)
My superdrive won't play a single dvd. I tried GI Joe, COPS and a few more. I was on the phone with apple and they are telling me it only plays certain discs. Can you help?????
I have a Macbook Pro Mojave and I can't get it to play DVDs. The DVD doesn't pop up automatically when I insert the disc. It does recognize the DVD. When I open it on my desktop I get access to two folders, Audio TS and Video TS. Audio TS is empty and Video TS. The Video TS folder has several exec files titled video_TS.bup. Can someone help me?

It is now Aug.2020 and the Apple dvd/cd drive is NOT discontinued in Canada or the US. This video could have only taken 3 minutes if this guy actually knew what he was talking about.
I can’t get it to take my cd.. I have it plugged into my Mac through a single hub. It keeps telling me to connect the drive to a power source, but it already is.. It makes a sound every time i plug it into hub, so not sure why it’s saying that & not taking the cd..
OMG I freaking love Split/Second I have it on Xbox 360 Physical and Digital also have it on PS3 Physical, I love that game they need to make more, I was blown away by the fact that is from Disney.
