    I'm having some issues getting this set up. There's important stuff that just doesn't pop up for me on my end. I'm not getting the voice meter input for discord, only the VAIO3 and aux version. I also don't have the speakers virtual audio cable in the audio popup.

    My piano doesn't really have a mic jack to plug in, but rather has a usb port. When I do plug it in however, I don't think voice meter recognizes it as a hardware input, so unfortunately I can't quite seem to get that part to work.

      Hi! In that case, your computer detects it as a MIDI instrument. You have to use a DAW with a piano VST to get sounds. And have you checked if your piano has a Line Out? Which piano do you have?

      Two things you can try.
      First, crank up the volume on the piano, or in voicemeter.

      I don't think you're able to, I will have a tinker and look into the files of the program and see if you can change the size in the files somehow, but I doubt you will be able to. As the program wasn't programmed to be any other size than the one it is so I figure if it is shrunken a scroll will not be available and probably the program will just be cut off. hi, ok so i play guitar and i have an amp which has a headphones jack, like the type you would see on a regular phone. i connected the aux cable to the headphones jack and then i tried connecting the other end to the ports on my pc. however, whenever i connected it to the mic in or line in ports, potato wouldnt pick anything up. i mean nothing would pop up in the device selection menu. my computer has a realtek audio manager on it and this software can detect when i insert the aux cable, but that is the extent of it, no options what so ever. is there something i should be doing differently?

    Excuse me as a sound guy whose found the application from you but has been investigating by himself because he's learning about making music, I have a question. I realize this is old but nevertheless I hope someone may answer it.
    Why install a virtual audio cable when the virtual audio is already being input into the middle buses default being Virtual input 1? That can be routed the same way, effectively playing your desktop as a microphone if it's sent out on the correct bus without the extra cable?

    • @TobsterStrudel
      @TobsterStrudel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is true, using the virtual input functions the same as virtual audio cable. But we use so that you can have multiple virtual inputs and not just for the desktop audio. With Virtual Audio Cable, I can have my desktop audio, my DAW, and more if I desired.

    Hey, thanks for making this video.
    I am having a problem if anyone can help me.
    I have my guitar plugged into the Line-in jack, and my microphone plugged in my mic jack. In voicemeeter, I can select them both to be hardware inputs but problem is; if I have my guitar connected it works perfect but my microphone name changes to red and it doesn't work. If I unplug my guitar, my microphone is normal again.
    It's like I can't have both of them at the same time....
    I am using a jack adapter for my guitar.

    What should I do if my piano has a midi usb cable instead?? I don't have the "Line in" input option...

    • @TobsterStrudel
      @TobsterStrudel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're going to have to use a DAW for the sound. Use the end of the video where I show how to use FL Studio with this, and it should be the same concept with whatever you use.

    • @TobsterStrudel

      It's likely having to do with discord settings. Turn off automatic gain control and mess around with different gate levels. If you still have issues, I'll ask my bass player friend to see how he does it.

    • @TobsterStrudel
      @TobsterStrudel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you'd have to output from your DAW ,to a virtual audio cable, to voicemeter.

  • @chrisl2431

    so i'm hooking this in to my guitar can i just use a jack adapter for that like the ones that go from 3.5 to 6.3mm

    • @TobsterStrudel
      @TobsterStrudel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, adapters should work just fine. Just make sure to set the guitar line to mono in voicemeter, to avoid it only being in one ear.

      You would have to use the Virtual Audio Cable method. You'd have to use a DAW and then output the audio to voicemeter. If you dm me on discord I can help
