Me too. Besides King K Rool has to be the main villain for the Donkey Kong movie featuring Seth Rogen as DK once again. And I want Brendan Gleeson to voice K Rool. Dan Aykroyd as General Klump and Patrick Warburton as Krusha
I thought of that as well, especially with the blue design, the fact that it’s fast, the fact that it spins around (alluding to the spindash that Sonic can use) and also has the name Tails at the end, somewhat referencing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 because both Sonic and Tails were in that game, back in the 90’s both Sonic 2 and the original Donkey Kong Country were among the top 15 highest selling video games of all time, so it makes sense that Rare would notice Sonic’s popularity back in the day, also in Cranky Kong’s DK coin challenge in DKC2 where you see Mario, Yoshi and Link, shoes that look like Sonic’s shoes can be seen on the bottom right of the screen and a sign that says “no hopers” as well, as if Sonic would’ve normally been included with Mario, Yoshi and Link as one of the greatest video game heroes, (personally I think Link should’ve been in 2nd place, not Yoshi) but because of Nintendo and Sega’s rivalry back in the day they left him out, I also wonder if the enemies that were called red spiky rodents in DKC3 could be a reference to Knuckles.
Several of the non-Kremlings aren't K. Rool's troops, they're either natural enemies of the Kongs, regular hostile animals, or animals protecting their territory, the novels reveal this. They also reveal that K. Rool has 4 main generals, Krusha, Klump, Rockkroc, and Kritter (a particular Kritter who's extra intelligent and nasty). On an unrelated note, a lot of people get this wrong (myself included for the longest time), K. Rool's name isn't supposed to be pronounced "Kay Rool", it's pronounced "Kuh Rool", as a pun on "cruel", so "King Cruel".
The pronounciation of K.Rool is honestly open to interpretation since multiple official sources pronounce it differently. In the animated series they pronounce it as Kuh Rool, and there’s also one random guy from Nintendo Canada who said he thinks it’s Kuh Rool. However one point against this is that the animated series wasn’t produced by Nintendo directly. But in Smash Bros. which is produced directly by Nintendo, the announcer says Kay-Rool. Also, generally in the English language when you say someone’s name with initials you pronounce the initial with the hard pronunciation. (JK Rowling, Samuel L Jackson, Harry S Truman etc.) But that being said, Rare also love their puns and Rare initially invented the character. I’d say the source on the official pronunciation would either be Steve Myles who designed him in the first place, or Nintendo since they technically own the character but Rare haven’t commented on this as much as I can find, and the most official Nintendo source for the pronunciation is Smash Bros, who pronounce it Kay Rool.
Awesome thanks for covering this, love Donkey Kong Country and K Rool and his crew were good villains hopefully they bring them back for future games. Can you please do Weak To Powerful for Donkey Kong bosses next?
I want to see that list, too. I know from DKC2, I'd rank them in this order: K. Rool, first fight - Awkward and nerve-wracking to dodge a lot of his attacks, especially if you accidentally get hit with one of the purple clouds that reverses your control pad King Zing - Keeps getting faster as the fight drags on and Squawks is probably the most cumbersome of the Animals to use K. Rool, Lost World fight - More random than the first fight with K. Rool, but it only takes one hit to defeat him Krow's Ghost - The chaotic, varied environment makes him much harder than his physical incarnation, but the concept is still basically the same Kudgel - The jumping patterns are tricky at first, and the paralyzing ground impact definitely caught me off guard the first time I fought him Kleaver - Really simple concept, but the back and forth across the lava adds enough tension to keep him from being on the bottom Krow - Very easy fight overall, though it's not without its minor frustrations (like the eggs breaking)
One thing to note: hitting krunchas in dkc 2 by jumping on them REALLY pisses them off, sending them into an enraged state where they turn red and making them faster. I think they're also invincible in this state, but I don't know for sure.
This probably won’t happen for a long time, and this might be the wrong channel to put this comment on, but if Donkey Kong Country ever gets a movie, I think I would like to see WickedBinge cover who should voice characters like Funky Kong, Candy Kong, King K Rool, and the Animal Buddies like Rambi, Enguarde, Squawks, Expresso maybe. If the Donkey Kong Country Movie does well, maybe they could also add Wrinkly and Swanky Kong and Dixie Kong too.
Found a bloopers with Rock Krocs; they do move in Green and not Red light. Probably caused by naming all of these but still a funny bloopers to mention😅.
Tbh the black knocka is THE most dangerous enemy in probably any platform game ever for the simple reason he's the only enemy that can take multiple lives at once.
1UpBinge: Klump shouldn't give you too much trouble Me: Fails Diddy's cabin in Crystal Caves *again* because Klump won't finish dying before time expires

7:54 Am I the only one who always thought that Cat O'9 Tails was a parody/mocking of Sonic the Hedgehog?

Why not just call him, Rool? That’s much easier to call him by.
The novels?

GREAT 1UP BINGE KING K. ROOL TROOPS: WEAK TO POWERFUL 🐍💪🔥
Krusha has always been my favorite Kremmling
The Kremlings were cool until they were no longer featured in DKC Returns or DKC Tropical Freeze.
Why they got rid of the Kremlin;ings is beyond me.
