These videos are very helpful. I got my 2E0 back in 1999 when i was 10yrs old so I think it's time to get the full license. Trouble is it is assumed you have recently done the Foundation and intermediate, But they didn't exist back in 99 so I struggling trying to learn all three in one go. My memory of the course when i was 10 is somewhat hazy. I'll soldier on and hopefully pass next month. Lee, 2E0ATB

VRint = I x Rint i don't understand where the 10-3 comes from? Could you explain where that comes from? Because if its I x Rint shouldn't it be 536 x 1.2? Or am i missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

When you multiply current and resistance values they must be in the fundamental units. In this case the current is 536 milliamperes, or just over half an amp. So you could multiply 1.2 x 0.536. Or in your calculator you could use the appropriate keystrokes to enter 1.2 times 536 times 10 to the minus 3 to get the same result. Try this BBC tutorial on standard form. www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z2mf9j6/articles/zh4ny4j

@@cornishradioamateurclubtra4073 right that makes a bit more sense so if its milli its 10 ti the minus 3 so if its an ampare or higher it would be 10 to 3 is that right? Sorry mathematicians isn't my strong point. Thank you for the reply and link it was most helpful

Micro is 10 to the -6. E.g micro volts
Milli is 10 to the -3. E.g. milli watts
      Thanks
Fundamental unit. Amps volts watts metres etc. is 10 to the 0. Or just times 1
Kilo is times 10 to the 3. E.g kilovolts. Kilometres.
Mega is times 10 to the 6. E.g. a megahertz is 1 million Hertz. That is one followed by 6 zeros.
