We visited Wilmington last year Thanksgiving. The riverwalk was extended a mile since we had been there before. However, there was a bad smell in the air in Wilmington north and along the riverwalk and downtown. The river was pitch black. There needs to be something done about the pollution in the city. Why doesn't the town do anything about this? I had a sore throat by the time I got home, from the bad air.
Ah that stinks! I’m sorry you had that experience! It used to be a lot worse and there has been some changes to rectify the situation but obviously not quite enough.
Been thinking about moving from Colorado to Wilmington. This was very helpful, thanks! (Edit: saving so I can get in touch later if that's the direction I decide to go in. Love your shirt, btw).
I agree with the video being really good, very informative. Thanks. I disagree with the shirt, sorry. I actually found it to be really risky, being it is such a political issue and him being a realtor. There's many people looking for a realtor looking to move that would pass due to different views. It's only my opinion. You should keep it neutral. In real estate, you cater to different people with different views. I am surprised that you are wearing that, being from NY.
@@fabianasantucci1554 I appreciate your comment and I appreciate the feedback on the video, I’m glad you learned something from it 👍🏼 I am a Marine Corps Veteran and stand by my beliefs 1000%. I have had MANY clients disagree politically with me and we still maintain a great working relationship because that’s what Americans do. As far as keeping it neutral - I’m not your typical Realtor. I say this very Humbly and respectfully - I am not desperate for anybody’s money, so I choose to wear what I want to wear, and allow people to judge me for themselves. At the end of the day, the shirt has no representation of the content of my character, and should somebody choose to work with me, they will realize that I bring my military experience into real estate and fight for every single transaction to turn out in my clients favor. I help my clients move, downsize and do things that 99% of realtors won’t do because of money. The shirt represents Black Rifle Coffee Company which is a great American veteran owned business who actually employs thousands of refugees. I wholeheartedly appreciate your perspective, and judge me based on my shirt if you want, but there is more to my character than my belief in the 2nd Amendment or any politics. Also, just because I’m a realtor, doesn’t mean I lose my freedom or speech or freedom to represent myself I choose, just like anybody else in the world. I hope that we can chat some day and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the area, more than happy to help! 🙂
@livejacksonvillenc Oh not judging at all, if you took it that way, wasn't meant. I honestly wondered about how it would effect different clientele with different beliefs. Being that you work with the public, I was curious and thought it was risky thinking some people would have a negative view, maybe risking some clients to pass on calling. However, like you say, you don't need it, then it wouldn't matter. Just thought it was an interesting choice.
@@fabianasantucci1554 I understand. And to your point, it is risky to myself out there. But nobody is for everybody. We all need to accept that and Ive learned that I’m much happier when I let people know who I am from the jump instead of pretending. Life is much harder that way. But this video has actually done me pretty well, so I think a lot of people don’t mind the shirt and listen to the information. I appreciate you watching and your communication 🙏🏻
Aloha, hope you are well. Thinking about moving to Wilmington. How is the racial tension? Judging of your shirt, are there a lot of red hats/MAGA people?
Aloha and thanks for commenting! According the interactive maps 👉 www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/upshot/2020-election-map.html the majority of downtown Wilmington voted for President Biden OR was a very close race. But overall, because of a large military presence to the East, and a lot of Military retirees in the area, i would say that the majority of the area is republican, or at least right leaning. With that said, racial tension isn't very high in the area. Of course with any city, there are challenges, but coming from Upstate NY, I've seen FAR worse and would say that Wilmington is very "live and let live". My shirt really has nothing to do with politics, as it represents a Veteran owned coffee company called Black rifle coffee company. I am a veteran myself so a lot of their mission vision and values are aligned with mine. Let me know if there is anything i can help you with 😎
@livejacksonvillenc Awe man, big mahalo for your insight and perspective! Greatly appreciate that! I really want to move to mainland; however, I need to be very close to beaches, lol. Also, thanks for not replying with the "always have to bring up race" however, we have to be real. Especially as a Black man that's used to Hawai'i living, where everyone is mostly liberal.
@@Memphis.1 you can certainly find a home mainland but still 20-30 mins to the beaches. There are tons of options. I appreciate your questions and have been thru it enough to understand (mostly) what people are interested in or concerned about. Definitely something to be concerned about in some areas of the country,.. but here in Wilmington, it’s a melting pot. Everyone is welcome. Also, my twin brother was stationed on K-Bay! He loved it.. he would move back today if his wife would haha
@livejacksonvillenc Your wisdom is vert appreciated! You have a new subscriber! I'm not military and to be very transparent, I avoid the military areas because most mainlanders (especially Blacks) that move here locals assume they're military. However, I do love K-Bay! The water and sandbar is absolutely amazing! I didn't realize Wilmington was mostly military. Dang, it might be the same stereotypes. Mahalo for you and your brothas service! 🤙🏾🏄🏾
Its mostly a red state. But its not shoved in your face. I've lived here for 44 years and in the last 10 years its started to go downhill. At least in my opinion. Traffic, too many people moving here in such a short span of time...too many housing developments being built...alot of good land being demolished. Aside from the beach and the downtown area there is NOTHING to do here. Hope this helps lol

Thank you, Scott!!
Awesome shirt my Brother. A Disabled Veteran 🇺🇸.
Appreciate you brother 🙏🏻

Currently living in Buffalo, 50 degrees all winter sounds crazy to me lol.
Sounds like you need to move south! Haha go bills !! 🦬
@@livejacksonvillenc I'm a dolphins fan 🐬
Then you definitely need to move out of NY LOL
I agree 💯
Nice shirt 😅
Lol not sure if you’re serious or sarcastic but thank you! Black rifle coffee company is an amazing company!
