Hey Xandria'ers! This new singer is pretty damn good huh? For some reason after Diane's departure I left them for dead, could there be hope for a new album? Maybe do I get to see them live again in the U.S.? Too much to hope for? Their Tampa Florida performance, maybe several hundred people there...one of the best displays of metal virtuoso I've ever seen in 50 years of attending concerts. Where do I find news on them? Their website is not updated.
Der Sound ist irgendwie bescheiden, aber Aeva Maurelle ist nicht schlecht! Klar ohne Dianne van Giersbergens opernartigen Gesang klingts etwas anders, aber Aeva Maurelle hat es sauber gesungen und ist nah dran. Kommt irgendwann was Neues von Xandria, ein Album oder so....? Dianne van Giersbergen mit ihrer neuen Combo "Ex Libris" gefällt mir leider musikalisch weniger, bis garnicht.
Eeek. Beautiful voice, but cringey as hell. She's obviously very shy and not naturally athletic which limits her ability to own the stage and whip up the audience. Her clothes are a bit weird too. She's still learning the ropes though, and there are plenty of metal chicks to learn her craft from. I've seen photos of her lifting weights so the wheels are definitely turning.
@@joshy_bish It would be a great outfit in another context but not this one. She looks like a gawky fragile catwalk model. This is not to say female metal singers have to surrender their femininity. Elize Ryd for example manages to be feminine and badass - she's deceptively muscular and adapts her dress sense for the stage. But above all else, Aeva really needs to put on some muscle.

If I'd been making sexualized comments about her appearance you might have a point, but I was specifically talking about her ability to convincingly embody the content of the songs with her aesthetic. ie the medieval warrior princess. The same is expected of men as well - eg Johan Hegg, Till Lindemann etc
