I think it’s because the tall tales came out a good amount of time back and the sunken curse was more recent and if you weren’t playing when it released you probably wouldn’t knew it existed till you saw someone with it in. It’s a lot harder to miss that the gold curse exists

First of all to get all books from each shrine as a solo slooper was a humongous pain in the ass, but I did it, without a single care for any of the loot of earning any money. Ok. That torture passed. I spend 50 blueys to buy the voyage, put it on the table, went along to Safer Seas because... Just... Fed up lol. Was gonna "rush it", which meant that it would probably take me 2 hours instead of 3. I digress. As in - in the game - to killing a Meg, looting most islands and shrines I came across during the voyage... And there was the ghost-ship world event near the shrine for the second key (and at this point I'm already at a 2 hour session of SoT). I was like "ok, I'll hear it while I'm under the god damned water, as I know I did before so... I suppose... I'm safe(?)". Me fool. Me... fool. 2 hours in, I'm underwater doing the god damned shrine of ocean's fortune for the N-th time, and I just get the black bars on the screen. I was confused, to my foolishness, and was like "what the...?". And then the text appeared on the black bars. "Voyage failed" "Chest of the blah blah was lost" I went for a smoke after this humongous bullshittery. I heard... One... Cannon shot while I was down for 20 minutes, instantly came back up, saw that I'm barely in the vicinity of ONE patrolling ghost ship and that it mostly sailed AWAY from me, and shot and missed 1 ghost cannonball every 15 minutes. "Ok", went down for half an hour, and without any warning just sank apparently. Got robbed 50 tokens, 2 hours of my time, and a full ship of loot... For which, frankly, I cared the least (since it's safer seas anyway). But this gOOD DAmned (pun intended) curse! Fu*k.
Keep in mind, these numbers are massively inflated by the number of people who played at launch but quot as well as people who just tried the game out on Xbox live. Every one of these curses can be obtained through dedicated play.

I feel like 5% for the legendary curses are way too high. I’d guess it’s more like .5% because I’ve only seen 1 legendary curse in hourglass but every other battle i see a normal PvP curse
From my experience i have seen quite a few and with their only being 60k of the normal athena and skeleton i assumed at least 1k had the gold and 5% just felt right, but hey its a ball park so maybe you are right
You can’t just go off of your own sample size you have to consider the fact that you’re not encountering people on servers for other continents/regions. In fact I’ve been matched up against the same people in queue fights which goes to show there’s a large population you’ll never see.
I 100% agree but since none of us know the TRUE number does it really matter what anyone estimates it was only my two cents and I think it’s probably pretty close but like I said maybe it’s larger maybe it’s smaller who knows
@@DaBinBin-_-a good way to measure it is by looking at the sea of thieves Xbox achievements. You get one for getting the Athena’s blessing and There’s also a separate one for skeleton curse. If I remember correctly it’s around 0.02% of players who got the blessing achievement
for me the sunken curse was pretty easy, 2 days of like 3 hr grind each. im not even that skilled (only have like 60 hrs playtime) it was a pain but it was def worth the grind !
Sunken curse was the first curse I got, because I spent half of my time solo slooping, and you're almost impossible to rob at a single shrine if you do your due diligence. Still doing the voyage itself was tough even with a galley crew, since you have to do 3 shrines while holding onto the same chest.
And no, I will not put down my legend of the sunken kingdom quest. Read those journals for the sunken kingdom curse like we had to and stop asking us 😂

The gold skelli and the legendary Athena are probably similar and the legendary curse doesn’t have any way of me finding out how many people have it sadly so had to leave it out the video
@DaBinBin its similar in way by unlocking it (getting to lv 1000) but one is actually in the curse section and the other the gold skelly is just a customization option
Let’s be honest, I’ve only heard about several streamers and good players obtain the gold Athena’s curse, if there were nearly 3000 players who’ve have it, there’s a large percentage of them who’ve probably abused there way to get it (alliance servers or cheaters)
Thing is 3000 of 30,000,000 total players is believable in my eyes that’s 0.0001% of players so whether or not they got it from abusing the system doesn’t change the fact it’s superrrrr hard to get

Wow that's crazy. I basically got my sunken curse by complete accident well within my first few hours playing. Whenever I see a journal, I just spam through it, not actually reading anything then saw I unlocked a tall tale and went after it. 😂
Used to think it wasn't so bad till I did a few rounds. At a certain point turning in a streak 3-4 hourglass only gives you about a quarter of a level. Each match takes about 15-20 minutes (assuming it doesn't become a bloody war of attrition that lasts hours because neither side refuses to bend the knee) So that's about 2 hours for what amounted to a 4th of a full god damn level... And I left off in lvl32, we gotta do 100 of those. LOL nah HG is tweaker territory, only reason those curses scare me is because the process to getting them is so long and tedious you probably lose your god damn mind halfway into it.

In my first days of playing SoT I was on a open crew with a guy trying to get the Sunken Sorrow Curse and I helped him get it, both me and him got the curse and I told him it was my second day of playing SoT and he got crazy. But in the future I helped my friend get that curse in his first days too.

I have this bug where whenever I get attacked, the other people are either the Reapers Curse or Athenas Fortune, and they obliterate me in minutes.

I've played this game for roughly 2 weeks and already have ashen and sunken sorrow. I thought that atleast 15% of the players have the ashen curse.
I used to think it'd be 35% with how often I see the clumsiest of players wear it.

I love the sunken curse, and use it all the time. I will change out for the Athena blessing when I get it but gonna run sunken otherwise

@@thrice33 I am decent at it but can rarely get a 3 streak and have never gotten 4. Don’t worry though, you will get your curses eventually, just keep chipping away at them.

The Gold Athena must be so rare cause I didn't even k ow it existed
In my first days of playing SoT I was on a open crew with a guy trying to get the Sunken Sorrow Curse and I helped him get it, both me and him got the curse and I told him it was my second day of playing SoT and he got crazy. But in the future I helped my friend get that curse in his first days too.
