I'm in my third year of my accounting degree and this inspires me to keep going and work towards my Honors degree even after discovering that my bachelor's degree is not accredited.

@@It.is.ler_ratooo hi there! Glad to hear that you are inspired. Don’t be discouraged, I would advise you to still reach out to the IIA because you can start your CIA exams whilst in university. It’s much better than preparing for the exams while working. All the best :)

A very well presented vid, the visualizations are top notch and greatly resonate with the story being shared, however I wish she could’ve touched more on the exact requirements needed to become a CIA, I once heard that in order to become a cia one need to have a degree and two years of experience. Would’ve loved to hear that from her

Thank you for the comment! Noted. 😊With the requirements changing over time, I would advise you to visit the IIA website for more updated requirements to become a CIA.

      Hi Thabang
After you get your degree it’s advisable to do your postgraduate (honours) in internal auditing it boosts your chances of being hired as a trainee internal auditor. To answer your question, yes that is what you would apply for there are also graduate programs for trainee internal auditors. You can either apply to banks/ accounting firms or any large organization.
As Mapula mentioned you would have to write you CIA exams to qualify as a Certified Internal Auditor. So 3 exams plus 3 years relevant work experience to be certified.
Last time I checked you could start writing the exams whilst you do your undergraduate. Please contact the IIA(SA) www.iiasa.org.za for more updated information.
      Thanks!

Hello! You can start as an intern audit trainee at an auditing firm or any institution. I would encourage you to apply for your btech also as it will improve your chances of getting a job. You will still need to write the CIA exams with the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa. Contact them and find out how you can register.
You can still become a certified internal auditor afterwards.🙂

Look for internal audit firms in your area.

Did not touch on the costs of doing CIA

Hi, this will vary from year to year. The cost is not fixed. My advise is to go on the IIA website and find out the cost of the exams.
