This video was so much fun! Back in the early '00's when I lived in Philly, my partner at the time and I enjoyed many a romantic weekend getaway in Jim Thorpe. I'd almost forgotten about that tunnel though. Crazy!
I was just looking up google maps and you can't take a train to Jim Thorpe PA. You have to take a bus. I guess the train is just for old time sake. I guess the closest train stop or at least from Florida is via Philadelphia.
Good to see you back Lizzie, I was suppose to go to Jim Thorpe in April for my birthday but everything was too lock down to go, so I appreciate this video. On a side note, I did make it to Salem again this year, things were a bit slower, more lines, but there was still a good amount of people.
@@LizzieMarie Tyvm, yes so far so good, just hoping there is an end in sight to this soon. Salme is once again on the books this year, but I'm hoping to add an additional trip for christmas, do you have any ideas of where a good place to spend it would be?
Voxtek, you’re right after my own heart. I’m doing Jim Thorpe in 2 weeks for my birthday getaway. I’ll be staying at the Inn at Jim Thorpe. I booked it for 3 nights but I think it might be too long of a stay. I don’t get the impression that there is too much to do. All the videos I saw were one day trips. Gettysburg has become my new favorite spot. It is rich and full of history with plenty to do. I first stayed at the Gettysburg Hotel right in the heart of historical downtown but I didn’t like my stay at that hotel. In October when we go back there for a ghost hunt, I’ll be staying at the 1863 Inn which is where all the actions is. I love Salem and try to do it as close as I can to the Halloween season. I’ll always stay at the Hawthorn Hotel. Anyway, excuse the rant but is 3 nights too long of a stay at Jim Thorpe?
@@monicae67 Hey Monica! It's hard to answer if 3 days is too long for jim thorpe, as a lot of people only recommend Salem for a weekend, and I do a week every year going on 7 years. I suggest also looking up anything in the surrounding areas that may strike your interests. I also suggests getting pictures as that can slow down the experience and allow you to see things you might have missed. And as with anything, its the company you take.
@@monicae67 I stay at Inn of 1863 every year and it's a prime location! I've always enjoyed our stays there. I am going to Salem in October and staying at Hawthorne and am so excited. We last minute planned this and there was only 1 night available. Do you think we will be able to squeeze enough in to one night (we'd arrive around 1 or 2pm on a Wednesday and then sleep there, then have Thursday during the day prior to heading out) or would you recommend i find another hotel on the outskirts and stay for 2 nights?
Jim Thorpe, PA is the county seat for Carbon County, PA. I’ve been to Carbon County many times, and Jim Thorpe is near between Nesquehoning and Lehighton.
Hopefully one of my next trips. Do you think a day trio is enough or should it be an overnight thing? Just found your channel the other day when looking into Salem. Hope you start making more videos.
I think you can see most of the town in 1 day but if you have the time & money to stay over that would be really fun too! &I don't really make videos anymore :( my husband & I still take little trips like this a lot but I pretty much just film it for myself and our future kids. Maybe I'll start posting them to here as well tho! I do love watching others travel videos :)
Asome$ how you been I haven't seen you online vlog for sometime.question what you think of the canon hs60 in 2022 still good camera to make videos for beginners and have a question how long can you record video on this camera what's the record limit?well have a goodnight hope to hear from you
i just find it absolutely ridiculous that they refer to it as the "switzerland of america." Not even close. Ive been there and its nothing like Switzerland. First time i went there my first impression was "Switzerland? Bitch where?" 😂 Its more old colonial america with old trains and large hills they call mountains.
Definitely not Switzerland...obviously you haven't been to Switzerland apples & oranges...Jim Thorpe is more like old colonial Philadelphia..."Switzerland", lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣...I live an 1:30 away from Jim Thorpe, not Switzerland!!
I'd love to see some new videos. Love your sleepy hollow and salem videos. Hope all is well.
