Great shave Ken!!! I was actually in New York City when this happened. I was walking about 4 blocks away with my brother from the WTC when the first plane hit. He worked in Manhattan, and it was his day off, so he gave me his house key and his cell phone, and told me to head home. He stayed back and helped others on the streets who became injured from the towers, even though he had no business doing so, then he opened his restaurant that he worked for at the time for overnight hours, and served coffee and some breakfast foods to the workers and he picked up the tab, with his boss approving that. It was the scariest thing I've ever heard or seen. I'll never forget.
I saw him on Joe Rogan’s podcast not long ago. He had just started a clothing line. He had left Japan and spent some time in NYC working as an EMT just for existence. It was an interesting interview.
RIP all the victims from 9/11. I remember the day clearly and didn't know anything about the awful event until I arrived back home from an out of town shopping trip. I switched the TV on when I arrived home and couldn't believe what I was seeing. On a happier note, nice shave Ken and stay safe.
It's amazing how I will never forget where I was that day when I heard the news. I was so angry with myself for not finishing school, for being someone with a record, for being someone who did not give a shit about my loved ones and those who cared for me. All those things kept me from joining the military(well the lack of education and the criminal aspect). No branch would take me. So many regrets, so much anger. By the way. I am not the same person I was then. As a matter of fact I was not that person for about 9-10yrs . Anyway. I would never had known about the Divers Down if it weren't for you Ken. It only makes sense to have this in my collection since I am a Diver and have had the privilege of diving with the Mark IV. MAN! I love the Diver Down After Shave and Shave soap. Reminds me of what it is like to feel alive. Whooooooooo I Love it

I was in third grade and my gym teacher ran into the room and whispered something to my teacher then she turned on the TV and we found out... parents were quickly taking the kids out of school. My uncle was and is still currently an Air traffic controller at LaGuardia airport... so he was right in the mix of everything getting all the planes touched down immediately.... we will truly never forget 🇺🇸 🗽 *MIKE ROSE 🌹*

I was just thinking about people wet shaving as quickly as they can for fun just to see how fast you can but it reminds me of one of the reasons I started wet shaving to begin with and that's just to slow down and enjoy something as simple as shaving. Relax and take a few minutes for yourself. I was on my way to work on 9-11. I stopped at a service station like usual and saw it on tv. Well done Kenneth! The company that refurbishes Progress razors with the brass knob is Bullgoose Shaving., and they call it the "Mergress" (a portmanteau of Merkur Progress). Guess I’ll have to pick up the soap and AS bundle in the near future.. after Sun Down and Good Vibrations And I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard about the attacks. Hi Ken, by complete coincidence i did my first 3 pass shave this weekend with a Feathers blade. It took a long time as i don't take liberties with those rascals ! The shave was very BBS but the burn was CRAAZY !

Jason Trentham I bought mine for $10.00 shipped... it was one of the first ones produced where the quality control on the plating wasn’t up to par...I have the black one and most of the plating was gone but I took 99.9% of it off and it looks a lot better! Nothing wrong with it mechanically

My grandpa on my dads side was inside of the world trade on sept 11, he was leaving because grandma called and needed him back home to take her to the doctors as she wasn’t feeling good. He lost a lot of friends and even ones we called family..

I bought the Diver Down after seeing this video. I'm a big fan of Bay Rum, this doesn't smell like any B/R I've used but I love it. It's been about 8 hours and I can still smell the after shave. As for the soap, it's so thick it's like icing a cake 🎂. Very buttery and like frosting. Loved it, I rotate everything so I can't wait for this to come around again. Maybe I'll cheat and use it again in my next shave.
The Parker Variant is a great razor. I always do a one pass shave with the grain and maybe a second as clean up. I really like the Parker blades and most of the time I use the Variant on setting 3.
Great shave. I prefer the David Lee Roth led Van Halen because their songs prior to him leaving the band are more recognizable to me. I’m planning to get my first artisan soap on my next purchase which could take my wet shaving journey to the next level. I’m glad you and your family are ok amid the wildfires in California
It would be cool to see a comparision between moden Clubman Pinaud and the vintage one in glass bottles, because I've heard they changed the formula when they went over to plastic bottles. Hi Ken! Long time no comment, but I do watch. Thank you for review this PAA homage/tribute to Seaforth Spiced aftershave. I do have a mug of Seaforth shaving soap (Yes, a full mug of vintage goodness...complete with seal) that I would gladly try with this aftershave. My father took the family to the drive-in movie...I forget what Disney film played first (the kid's movie, perhaps Bedknobs and Broomsticks), but I woke to watch some of Deliverance. I remember the dueling banjos scene and some of the other bits...and it made me feel afraid. Eight year old boys should not watch such things. Thanks again for sharing. Take care.

Glad it happened, the parker variant is currently my favorite and i love it. Dang razor feels like a tank. I get my murkur futur today in the mail. Hey Ken! You referred to this as a “spicy bay rum”. I tried my first bay rum scent ever this month (from Stirling Soap Company). I’m not sure what I expected ‘bay rum’ to smell like, but it was a pleasant surprise and I love it. Picked up on multiple spices, but especially cloves... having tried many companies’ versions of this iconic scent, do you feel this is pretty standard across the board?

I love my Progress razor! LIke many of us in this innocent hobby, I have a small collection of DE razors but I find myself going back to my Progress razor as my regular choice. Like driving all sorts of cars, trying out various razors is enjoyable. Another favorite razor type I like playing with are slants. Ken, thanks for the regular videos, you are a credit to the hobby.
hey i just started in wet shaving cuz of your videos and I gotta ask what's a good brand of shave soap to whip up a real foamy cream or should I get a bowl that's got some texture cuz I cant seem to get really floofy cream
TOBS (Taylor of Old Bond Street) is best. Start with little water first as it's harder to make lather thicker if your brush is already too wet. Another great product brand is Speick.
Larry Combat Commander my wife’s uncle had a beachfront home on the boardwalk about 1/2 mile south of the casinos. He took me to his gun range about 1/2 hour drive inland. I also drove down the coast to Cape May. That highway that goes to philly right through the forests was awesome
Just used the Crystal Skull for the first time today to soak my brush. I was in 7th grade when it happened and I remember it like it was yesterday. Months prior in 6th grade we were riding a ferry and passed the twin towers taking pictures on a disposable camera. Never forget the lives that were lost.
My birthday is 9 11 and it seems nothing good happens on that day. Got a call early in the morning that a close friend that is just like family passed away. Prayers for all who lost loved ones

Hi Ken, I had dinner at “Windows on the World” , which was the restaurant on top of the World Trade Center, one week before it was gone. So sad, still can’t believe it. Use Voskhod blades...sharp but smooth, works for me. Recently used WS blades with their new DE razor, tugged and nicked me to bits. Enjoy the journey!

Hey Ken! You referred to this as a “spicy bay rum”. I tried my first bay rum scent ever this month (from Stirling Soap Company). I’m not sure what I expected ‘bay rum’ to smell like, but it was a pleasant surprise and I love it. Picked up on multiple spices, but especially cloves... having tried many companies’ versions of this iconic scent, do you feel this is pretty standard across the board?
Stephen Hanna I wish I could tell you how the original scent was, but I’ve never actually smelled it.

I love my Progress razor! LIke many of us in this innocent hobby, I have a small collection of DE razors but I find myself going back to my Progress razor as my regular choice. Like driving all sorts of cars, trying out various razors is enjoyable. Another favorite razor type I like playing with are slants. Ken, thanks for the regular videos, you are a credit to the hobby.

hey i just started in wet shaving cuz of your videos and I gotta ask what's a good brand of shave soap to whip up a real foamy cream or should I get a bowl that's got some texture cuz I cant seem to get really floofy cream
TOBS (Taylor of Old Bond Street) is best.
Start with little water first as it's harder to make lather thicker if your brush is already too wet. Another great product brand is Speick.

Larry Combat Commander my wife’s uncle had a beachfront home on the boardwalk about 1/2 mile south of the casinos. He took me to his gun range about 1/2 hour drive inland. I also drove down the coast to Cape May. That highway that goes to philly right through the forests was awesome

Hi Ken, I had dinner at “Windows on the World” , which was the restaurant on top of the World Trade Center, one week before it was gone. So sad, still can’t believe it.
