- To celebrate the 1-year anniversary of InnoVision 3D, I decided to take a look back at the episode that started it all, "What Ever Happened to Rainforest Cafe?". This commentary covers everything from the origins of the channel, to which restaurants I wished I included, and even why I will never attempt to speak French in another episode again! So come join us as we once again explore wild places to shop and eat.

it's a shame that animatronic restaurants are dying out, i recently became really fascinated with extinct animatronic restaurants [mostly showbiz pizza] and i'm so sad that they aren't just a thing you can go to casually anymore
i walked past the rainforest cafe at disney springs a few weeks ago and wanted to see the alligator at the front and he wasn't even moving :( then i went into the t rex gift shop and the big t rex at the front wasn't moving either... and of course chuck e cheese is getting rid of their animatronics or just leaving them on stage to rot, and billy bob's wonderland is just awful... it's just so sad that the very few animatronic restaurants that do still exist don't even seem to care about their animatronics anymore...
That’s so sad to hear! The animatronics were the best part. I haven’t been to the ones in Disney Springs in a while, but it sounds like I better go soon before they fall into complete disrepair.
@@InnoVision3D yeah i didn't go inside rainforest cafe because it was super busy in that area so i don't know about the state of the animatronics inside but the alligator out front was definitely not moving, i sat there for like 5 minutes just in case it was on a timer or something and it didn't move at all, as for t rex the big t rex in the middle wasn't moving at all but her babies did move but they seemed to be in bad condition :(

Back in the mid 90s. My dad was a 2nd grade teacher, he did this rainforest section for his kids one year and it was a hit, so much so that kids wanted to save the rainforest. So they saved the rainforest by selling these rainforest animal themed t shirts from some company. Everyone in the school had one of those shirts of some kind. Once we heard about rainforest cafe, we had to go to one, and wear our rainforest shirts. We thought we were hot shit.
Great job. The history and backstory was very interesting. I’m definitely going to rainforest when we go to Orlando this winter.

Really enjoy your thoughtful videos! Also grew up going to Bullwinkles. Went to the Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand in 2015 right before they changed it to Level Up. I can still remember the FAO Schwartz song from the San Francisco location long ago, and the Dive! sounds from visiting both locations as a kid. Glad to see other Middleman viewers. Really appreciate how you both appreciate these experiences and critically analyse their flaws and strengths. Keep up the great work!

Also there's a pretty gorgeous Final Fantasy-ish themed Cafe in downtown Anaheim. This video also jarred a memory for me of going to The Magic Time Machine in San Antonio for a field trip. It's an indie themed restaurant that's bat-guano crazy themed & the wait staff dresses as pop culture characters. It was WILD.
Is the Anaheim cafe you mention called Requiem? If so, I’ve heard really good things about it. I just made it out to The Cauldron over by Knott’s and thought it was great. The food was really solid too.
Someone should create an Orange County fantasy bar-hopping tour.

I've lived in San Francisco for about 7 years now and never went to the Rainforest Cafe here since the 90s. They closed down a few years ago and I kind of regret not going one more time.

Funny you mentioned Claim Jumpers. Never heard of them before yesterday, there's one here in Vegas, I think it was either at Circa or Golden Nugget.
