I think litrells play calling didnt compliment JA. Oline was decent but many times JA scrambles before pocket collapses. JA couldnt read field when it came to go routes/deeo passes. But was solid w the quick 5-7yd curls/slants. Secondary was bleh also. Dline fairly solid.
It’s his third game dude. He’s without his top targets and has a banged up O-line. Not saying I’m happy but it’s definitely too soon to judge.

As a UH student I thought we were going to get smoked seeing as we lost 27-7 to UNLV . This is a bad sign for OU. Especially with some phantom calls that led to 9 OU points

The first loss might be coming next week. The way Tulane is playing K State, I think they will beat us. I am not sure we can even win 6 games. The offense brought back my memory of early 2000 OU football with Nate Hybl as QB, 300 yards offense was a good game.

Bama was losing to USF
K st was losing to Tulane
Oregon almost got beat
Notre Dame LOST to NIU

And OU had a close one w a tomato can as well

Punt return was 50/50 so they were gonna always go with the original call.
That's kind of correct. I don't know if they were crooked but that punt was clearly not touched by the receiver. The refs were terrible.

Is that safety call correct? Seems like the runner received the ball in front of the goal line, then forward progressed ceased and the tackle was completed taking him behind the goal line. I thought either the player had to willfully step back into the end zone or already be there at the time of the tackle.
If that's not safety, NO pass interference on OU.

This game is great to have in week 2. Expose those shortcomings, and better fix them in a hurry or else you will be fighting for bowl eligibility. As a sooner fan, I still have faith if they could get healthy by Texas. If not, play the young guys and build for next season.
Josh is an OU legend that will be warmly and affectionately welcomed home. Hopefully the homecoming will end in defeat!
Remember Oklahoma has the toughest schedule in the country. They are also picked to finish 8th in the SEC. Looks like the expert might have been generous with 8th. Whoever made the decision to move Oklahoma to the SEC is an idiot.

I'm honestly not surprised, he backstabbed his mentor Bill Snyder at KState back in 1998 when kstate narrowly missed the National Championship, raided 4 primary coaches off the Kstate coaching staff (including Venebles) and took the whole crew to OU including recruits. At the time OU couldn't even win 4 games a year, suddenly 2 years later they win the NC.
At that point Kstate had a top 5 defense 6 years straight as well as an offense averaging 45-48 points a game.
Meanwhile Lincoln Riley's Defense at USC is Legit. Ask LSU. 😂

I remember when a team I was on was ranked number one at the beginning and barley won our first game, against someone we should have blown away, we just beat them 8 to 0, but at the end of the season in the playoffs we beat them 54 to 6. Sooooo? Let’s just see.
