Thanks mate , perfect testing and explaining how to fix , had a 2006 1.8 petrol with the dreaded dry joints in the dash causing the dash to light up like a Christmas tree so sent it off and came back all fixed but then on roadtest this fault code came up and notice car was sluggish at slow speeds almost like a misfire , bam found your video really helped me find the problem with the intake manifold runners both had gone down . Great video and presenting. Thank you. Just done mine with a bendy screwdriver. Just the fiddly bits that are an issue, as you're worried of breaking something crucial. Loving the cheerful inner rage at the end when the check light doesn't go off btw. I guess once its cleared and it doesn't come on again its job done.

Thanks for this. I used my multimeter and found one of the solenoids had no circuit just like you had there. New part fitted and all sorted! It was a nice quick job to do too!

My bank 1a is 40 and my other is 38. Do you think it would help to change it? I have tried to change everything on my car except for this part. And my car doesnt want to start, for it to start I need to basically stand on the gas pedal. Would very much appreciate help on this matter.🥺

Everything started with me having to change the alternator, battery, spark plugs etc. After changing the alternator everything went well for about a week but now it won't start unless me standing on the gaspedal. The only fault code I had before the batterylamp was p2008. So therefore I thought if it was something trouble with the motor. Or the air/fuel thing. It is a ford focus mk2. (Flexi) and I appreciate all help haha.😃
I tried this today as I have the same P2008 error code. Apparently both solenoids are open circuits! Not sure if I'm doing something wrong? Multimeter is in continuity test mode, and I tried both with car key on off and in position 2 but still both are giving me open circuits. Any ideas?
@@downtheshedwithbyron yes it stays on. The mechanic guy reset it and the engine fault light turned on again almost immediately. I will try to a cool engine as I tried when hot.

@@downtheshedwithbyron Yeah, I got a 2012 Jeep Patriot stalls only codes show up P2008 it has one I figure it's the same fault code it's that. Stalls runs like garbage tell rpms go really up.
O2 sensors fixed on the family's car now it has this code so far this helped me find out it needs replaced it was defective during -25 temperatures when it failed. Once warmed up it won't hardly idle and the computer needs to be rebooted for it to run a few extra miles like 2 lol. Got it home to work this kink out.

Maybe back track a bit and make sure all plugs and sensor are plugged back in properly

Disconnect the solenoid if you get the same fault code or it changes and go from there mate

Just buy yourself some vacuum line just in case 1m so be cheap
