  • Fiat BR.20: Italy’s Forgotten WWII Bomber
The Fiat BR.20 "Cicogna" was Italy's first all-metal bomber and was once considered one of the most advanced bombers of its time. However, with the rapid advancements in aviation technology during World War II, the BR.20 quickly became obsolete.
The Fiat BR.20, also known as the "Cicogna" or "Stork" in Italian, was developed in the mid-1930s by Fiat Aviazione. Designed by Fiat's chief engineer, Celestino Rosatelli, it was Italy's response to the need for a modern bomber. At that time, the Italian Royal Air Force relied on outdated biplane bombers that couldn't compete with the emerging monoplane designs of other nations.
