Yea and I hate it when people say cheap guitars are beginners guitars because those are the people that forget most musicians are tight on money. They are blinded by 5 grand "pro" guitars. These videos and playing them at stores are enough proof to show people that most guitars all sound the same. You could spend $200 on a Squier strat and $1200 on an American strat but through the same amp there wouldnt be much of a difference. We wouldnt have rock and metal if those blues players in the 30s werent able to afford those shitty hollowbody budget guitars. They literally played on wooden boxes that would be worth $50 if made today.
I think this guitars sound very similar, but jackson have more hi output and more mid frequencies, ibanez have little bit more high frequencies in sound and not so hi output. Both of these guitars sound good for their money, and although I'm more of an ibanez fan, I liked Jackson better in this case.
I own the ibanez (but an older revision from 2016 or so). Actually both of them sound pretty shitty when stock. To do s when having the ibanez: file the nut, even the frets, get some new pickups, straight the neck, lower the strings with the bridge, do the Intonation. Result: hits the notes in the first frets, get rid of too much fret buzz in between 5th an 11th fret, better action, better sound, hits high notes. Additional investment ~ € 200
I have both Jackson and Ibanez guitars. The best thing I can say is that if you are Rhythm player then Jackson is the perfect one for you. If you are the type to perform fills and leads then Ibanez will best suit you.

The difference between the two is so small that is almost unnoticeable, I could just hear more gain in the Jackson, probably the pickups have more output.....besides that both guitars sound great!
Punkoso: i think the word small is the right word to describe these two, obviously you can tell just by how far the palm of his hand is, because they are that small. i saw the Jackson in a store awhile back, and honestly thought it was a toy at first. it's even weirder to play, these two really are made for a kid. it's the perfect size for a 12 year old, i have small hands for an adult and i can barely get my hand on it.
@@Jeymez they're shredder guitars. Designed to play fast and hard with ease. If you're coming from a baseball bat neck on a Les Paul or other similar guitar than yes, these necks are gonna feel really weird to you; but after you've played these for a while, going back to a guitar with a chunky neck feels like you're playing becomes limited.

I have no tuning issues with my jacksons. However, you can put the high 3 strings on backwards and that corrects the angle, I believe that is actually the proper way btw
@alex sure, just put the 3 fat strings or wound strings on normal, when you put on the 3 high strings(skinny non wound strings) wind them on the tuning pegs the opposite direction(backwards) that way the strings will have a more straight break angle to the nut. This is for jacksons and guitars with the headstock pointing down, the six in line headstock on ibanez the strings will already bealmost perfectly straight going over the nut so you just do them normal. If you have a reverse headstock jackson it would be the opposite. I have done this just to try it and it works. However, my jacksons work fine stringing them normal. If you have a floyd rose trem or anything with a locking nut just string that normal on the tuning pegs because the locking nut should hold your strings from moving regardless of the string break angle. its really easy, but I feel I did not explain that in the easiest way. I hope you understand. I am gonna look for a video explaining it better than me, and I will post it here if I find one and you tube allows links to be posted...
@alex unfortunately I could not find any videos demonstrating this, basically just put the three high strings on the tuners in the opposite way of normal, of course when you do this you will have to tune those strings the opposite direction as well, sorry if I am horrible at explaining

They sound very similar although the Jackson seemed just a bit brighter. I’m looking at buying a Jackson JS22 for a mod/shred guitar. I like the Jackson’s but there’s one difference between the two that I think favors the Ibanez. The strings don’t leave the nut going to the tuners at such severe angles. I’ve heard this can be an issue on the Jackson’s when using the trem because apparently the strings have a tendency to stick when using the trem a lot, obviously causing tuning issues.

Cant go wrong with either imo
The Jackson he showed here is only the 22 fret version, There is others with more frets that aren’t much more at all. So both can do but if you want all the frets look at a diff js. IMO Jackson is better because that js11 is litterally only 150 while the gio is like 200-250 or maybe even upwards of 300z
(EDIT)
The 24 fret Jackson is the12 at 180 dollars. Noice..
@@Slayd2Pieces yes you're right. The ibanez GRG121 is more expensive than the jackson
@@killercat2896 I know right? And for metal the Jackson is miles better then the Ibanez.
@@Slayd2Pieces Well, not "miles better" as proven here... the differences were minimal. It's more of a matter of taste.
I choose jckson for riffing player.. bcoz.. the more tightly sound on open hmbcker pckups
