Free speech should be moderated by respect, morality, and ethics rather than the government or the social media platform you choose to post on, dont you think? Free speech is moderating ourselves rather than others moderating for us
@@LaMarcusBeethovenJr. While the ideal of self-moderation based on respect, morality, and ethics is admirable, it doesn’t account for the diversity of interpretations and the reality that not everyone will adhere to these principles online. For someone who is apparently the richest man in the world, you sure as hell wouldn't know that listening to him talk in this interview. What a small shallow ego this guy has, Don met him with facts, and he couldn't take it, as he's used to people just swallowing his word salad bile and asking for seconds. This reminds me of when Chappelle brought him on stage and the audience booed for like 10 minutes straight and he couldn't understand why. Dave, who has also very much lost the plot, proceeded to put down his own paying fans in defense of this complete and utter tool. Both persons I assume at this point are surrounded by yes men who hang out for the side benefits, but probably can't stand either one personally. Musk is just another grown man baby who can't take anyone not kissing his a$$ and cries "freedom of speech" every chance he gets, and then proceeds to take it from others in the same breath. Just goes to show how absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
I thought Sam Seder was spot on talking about it: Don Lemon was asking the simplest of "hard" questions, just to give the air of Independence by being able to question his own boss, and even that was too much for Musk, who didn't realize Lemon NEEDED to do that. He put his own ego before the needs of his business, a familiar tune for the world's richest whiner
When Elon said “cogent” I honestly think he just said it to try and sound smart, because in the context of what Lemon was asking, in conjunction with how Elon elaborates afterwards, the usage was a bit out of place
That was so funny. 😂 Especially with fox news complaining about Biden being too mean and condescending towards Ryan. Those were the good times. Back when the GOP was still pretending to have plans and you could laugh at them without expecting people to be so into idiocy.
Elon looks unbelievably weak in this video BECAUSE of these "milque-toast" questions, not in spite of them. There is no point in hardcore-debating the guy. Instead, Don Fucking Lemon nearly got the guy to cry and then politely asked if his Feefees got hurt... funniest shit I've seen in a while!
It is not at all surprising that Elon Musk came to Italy to participate in the "festival" of Giorgia Meloni, incumbent prime minister, of the "Brothers of Italy" Party previously called M.S.I (Italian Social Movement), which with the "tricolor flame" as its symbol he represented Italian "neo-fascism" precisely... both Musk's ideas and actions fit perfectly into the picture, as they say here in Italy...
"Moderation is a propaganda word for censorship" Musk literally said that. I'm 14 and this is deep. The man personifies my worst strawman of a libertarian. And people throw money at this clown? I profoundly don't get it.
He also said free speech specifically protects speech that a person doesn't like, or it means nothing. Precisely. If the prerequisite for conversation is that it raises no controversy and offends no one, that is controlled (see: moderated) speech, not free speech.
"At this point I think I know more about manufacturing than anyone currently alive on earth" and "That's not a typo" in regards to his 2017 plan for two Starship missions to mars in '22 are the only quotes I can ever remember about him

You get hit by the proverbial car trying to cross to fast and without caution.

Every unmoderated platform since the beginning of the internet has become a steaming cesspool and failed. Dr. Genius would know this if he wasn't an idiot.
I genuinely do not think Elon is autistic. I am getting this information from "Common Sense Skeptic" who does very, very thorough critical essays of various subjects, including Elon's many projects and failures. Elon has publicly said that he does not think anyone would want to be alone, and that he himself is afraid of it. That's pretty unusual for an autistic person, and it's really unusual for me. That being said, I seem pretty autistic, yet my motor skills and coordination are above average and I have no problems driving. So perhaps he just lacks that trait of autism despite being on the spectrum.
Elon musk is the kind of guy that if you told him its an indisputable fact that the earth orbits the sun hed respond with "I dispute it, so its not indisputable" and when you ask him to elaborate hed go of on some unrelated tangent, or say theres lots of people who agree.... I actually have to disagree with people about Don Lemon not going hard. I'm surprised he asked many of these questions and that he dared to both bring notes (like quoting specific tweets) and keep pressing on questions. Narcissist like Elon are incredibly thin skinned. Even remotely questioning their world view can really piss them off. Don has been around plenty of people like Elon over the years in order to get to where he's at in the industry he is in. He knows how to play nice and knows how to back off when they're uncomfortable. Instead, he specifically kept pressing and antagonizing Elon. Like the really subtle jab about how Elon misspelled DEI as DIE. You only call that out if you're like really close with someone or you're specifically trying to get under their skin and make them look incompetent. I think this is a really nice, subtle balancing act by Don. If he went in really hard, it'd look like he had an axe to grind. You go in really hard and then Elon acts upset it'd be far easier to be like "well, who wouldn't crumble under intense pressure like that?" But when you make it seem softball, ease him into things, and then start slowly poking around. As is, he pushed just enough to make Elon uncomfortable while preserving enough plausible deniability. Did he not mine a ton of great clips and make Elon look like a fool? Even if his intent going into the interview wasn't to upset Elon, I feel like by the end it's clear that he's willing to do that. Elon says at the end that they only have 5 minutes and is trying to curtail Don's question. Then Don literally goes ahead and asks the same thing again, pushing forward. At that point, we all knew Elon was making a veiled threat and Don decided to double down instead of backing off and appeasing him. Just saying.
A person who can't even understand the difference between "I couldn't care less" and "I could care less" and opts for the latter is definitely not a smart person, let alone a genius.
Elon is an impressionable man who will do anything to be liked by those around him and will not listen to criticism. I think this is a result of being raised in an abusive household (look up Elon's Dad not the best guy to be raised by). As things get worse he will become more frantic and will do anything to get people's money and attention. It wouldn't surprise me if during a depressive episode Elon offs himself or ruins his reputation and income even more.
Unsolicited PSA: please keep an eye on the state of Utah's "3 to 5 year" plan and goals; I don't know the correct terminology but it seems like a weird spin on a backdoor coup at the federal level. Maybe it's "crazy." Nonetheless, please keep an eye on it. I recommend the state rule bulletins, posted on the 1st and 15th of every month. I became demotivated when the table of contents was all but removed. Public participation can be registered by way of written comment or question. If a law - or "rule" - will go into effect, a bulletin allows the public to comment before a specific calendar date. Then, pending on participation, said law might be delayed until a further calendar date. Yes, people can abuse the system. I am not here to address that. I just want people to be aware of it. Regrettably, a lot has already come and gone without public participation. Some things are already in motion. The boats have sailed etc etc. I do not currently reside in the state of Utah. This is a concern for all citizens of the USA. My apologies for the word salad. Living with a language disorder - some days are better than others, yet there are some alarms that need to be sounded no matter the day.
Unsolicited clarification: I am not alarmed by the existence of a state bulletin system. For personal reasons, I've followed many since the early aughts. The content of these bulletins is what I am pointing an arrow to. Circling back to their table of contents being "all but removed" -- it used to be easy to quickly locate sections involving areas of concern. The information was reasonably accessible. This is no longer the case. Areas of concern involve childcare facilities, civil rights, reproductive rights, human rights, industry licensing, safety standards/regulations.

Geniunely, if you go back to Elon's earlier apparences, (early 2010's at the latest) he does actually seem to be passionate about the things he is making. It's weird going back to the Tesla Model S reveal where he talks about the all the practical features and adavntages over gas cars and Tesla's plans, compared to today where he just stutters out a lously sales pitch for Full Self Driving that is definitely coming out this year guys 10th edition.

Free speech isn't the freedom to say anything, anywhere-it's balanced by responsibilities and the need for moderation. Moderation isn't about limiting speech; it's about ensuring dialogue is respectful and doesn't harm others.

Your freedom to swing your fist ends at my face. Once your speech starts hurting others, it's not free anymore and people will start swinging back.

@@LaMarcusBeethovenJr. While the ideal of self-moderation based on respect, morality, and ethics is admirable, it doesn’t account for the diversity of interpretations and the reality that not everyone will adhere to these principles online. The necessity for platform moderation arises not to limit free speech but to ensure that it doesn’t infringe on the safety and rights of others. In essence, maintaining a respectful and safe environment for dialogue sometimes requires intervention when self-regulation falls short

Talking fast doesn't mean you're smart, but being stupid does tend to get in the way of talking fast
Honestly I've seen really fast talking idjits. Smart people tend to be more slow and deliberate with their words. Like when you see a young deer vs an old one crossing a road.
Concerning will look into it
Elon Musk probably has solved some nasty differential equation at the age of 21 and that's the smart thing he's still defining himself by.
Like a previously unknown solution? I doubt it. He was never a mathematician.
You can tell how anxious Texas is about the boosting of census numbers by their bussing of immigrants to New York.
