Been surfing about two months. I Surf away from the jetty’s because i’m a cook and i hear the lineup at the jetty can get pretty hostile towards trash surfers.Do you know if that is true or just rumors?
huge_g The “Jetty” or “Inlet” is a pretty gnarly spot. The surfers there are very aggressive when it comes to waves and it gets really crowded which can be dangerous too. Sometimes the over crowding gets bad and everyone is fighting for a wave. If you plan on surfing the inlet just make sure you can control your board. I’ve seen fights break out because someone was reckless and they were running ppl over or losing control of their board. Locals don’t like when they get hurt.. lol Just down the beach by Minorca condominiums is a really nice spot to surf, it’s close to the Jetty, but far enough away from the hardcore surfers. Also, Ponce inlet, Sunglow pier and Bethune beach are good spots to surf most of the time. Best to get the Surfline app to watch cameras to see where it’s best to surf one day to the next. 🤙🏽
