I wouldn't call them a "mistake" I just think they made a different shoe to stand on its own. The Raging Bull is a classic, and should also stand alone. In my opinion of course. Both are fire!! If they "remastered" the Raging Bulls, they should do it in a pack again. The gun metal looking pair it came with, is my favorite colorway of the Jordan 5!! It was a mistake because these are trash (imo) and it's just too much of one color and they should've just retroed the raging bulls instead of this color way

Keith Adam, Iliezer Perez: Its a mistake in the sense that Jordan Brand knew everyone has been wanting a re-release of the raging bulls for years now. and instead of just giving us what we all wanted, well maybe making a few minor changes/improvements to that colorway like red mesh vs the clear mesh.. they decided to give us an entirely different shoe... which is basically a red october 5? like c'mon the red october "colorway" is one of the worst shoe colors ever! but if you liked it, that's fine and cool, but its no longer 2013/14, the all red shoe craze is hugely played out at this point. There's no way! you can see the comparison at the end of this video and not agree that the modified shoe looks 10x better then the regular red suede 5s and should've been what Jordan Brand gave us in the first place.
Prior to using the bulldog scuff the plastic pieces with a grey scuff pad. They don't scratch the surface to where they're noticeable after the paint but it helps the promoter and paint bite to the plastic better.
I plan to this to the blue suede pair if they hit a nice discount (except I think I want to go with speckled silver for the shark teeth like the Black Metallics.) Very nice job. I hadn't stopped to consider that the toe and eyestay would probably need to be handled differently from the rest, so this was educational.
Hey Vick, Not sure how similar but in housing paint, reds are laid down over a grey base coat. The grey tint varies depending on how bright or dark the red is and gets darker as the red does. Just something that may help, red paints don’t cover well because of the type of pigment so tinting a pink doesn’t work as well as a grey does. Maybe something to test if you ever wanted to.
