Kurt, don't ask for one from a W900. Some years of the T300 and T800 use the exact same module. Ask salvage yards for one from one of them instead. Additionally, ask for P/N K256-852 or K256-724. These are exactly the same part by the Pollak number (32106 or 50561AA). Whatever you do get, keep your old one to make sure the dip switches (red box with white switches) matches, as that is how you "program" these. You may also need to swap the bezel. As others have said Vander Haag's has several. They don't say at which of their 11 locations each part is located at, but if you call them they can figure it out.
Crap! I have had to replace mine a few years ago. It wasn't cheap! I'm with Heather. Take it into your CB shop and see if he can source those components and solder them in for you. I did have my old one laying around somewhere. I'm gonna try and find it and look at those components. Might need to repair me a replacement for my truck.
Kurt, honest advice. Take it to a music store (instruments like guitars etc…) that has a repair department. The components used in that piece is the same as electronic components used in the music industry. They have the parts right there for cheap.
We had replaced just the buzzer on one of our trucks a few years back. I believe this is the part number for the buzzer BR10500 Cit Kenworth in Fenton mo is where we get our parts from. At that time they had the complete assembly as well. Also the bulbs are replaceable in them if they are burnt out.
Hey Curt same thing happened to me with my 379 Pete I couldn't find one so I had Lincoln Pete wire in a light and alarm 700 bucks but better than being out of service, wish you luck.
@@BigWolfBoy50 They have more than one, and it can appear under several different part numbers. See my separate comment about 2 other KW part numbers it can be (all are same manufacturer part number)
Also Sioux Falls, SD has one and you can go to any Vander Haag’s and order it to have it shipped to one near you if need too. Great folks! I’ve delivered a lot of new trailers to their multiple locations.
My first thought on your broken part: there is a vintage stereo repair shop...in Iowa I believe...called SkyLabs..great guys..give them a call...they might be able to fix it!!! Good luck hope this is helpfull.....
Can’t get over Kenworth no longer supports parts to their 900 due to its age The 900 is their signature image, hope you find one through the grapevine Keep trucking
I'm glad you stayed close to home. I should have trusted your judgment. You know better. There may be some electronic repair shops that could fix that. It may just be a cracked solder connection. Capacitors and diodes can be replaced. Mount Horeb Truck Parts is one WI place that may have a used one.
Good oil pressure Kurt. That didn't look like food to me either. Steak, eggs and chips is food. Meat buddy, meat is food, meat and vegetables to keep bad health away. Good truckin dude.
Hey, Kurt, you might check with Tim. Gentry down there in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He's got a few old trucks now. I'm pretty sure he's got maybe one or two kinurs. If not, he, i'm sure he knows who to to know and help you find one I know there's a junk arderan, clinton, tennessee, just north knoxville, he uses quite a bit, so he might be able to help you at least locate one
Have you ever gone into the truck museum there at i-80 truck stop, it's awesome. And I don't blame you for using TH-cam to find that part. More power to you.
I can probably have some shops here. Check for a part might be aftermarket. The bigger pain will be I'll get you the info but you will have to make arrangements to pay and ship from Australia. There are a lot of older trucks on the road so someone may have a replacement part.
Take it to someone that can check the board out and replace the part that is bad. Maybe check with someone who works on computer boards or radio systems, ham or CB.
Well was a good video sorry about your luck finding that part but your followers will come through i hope only thing going on here is cold no snow yet be safe Kurt thanks for posting my friend
Looking sharp sir. There’s many places that stretch black Pete would never make it. Thanks for another great video. Ps, you had some green stuff in your fettuccine. Good choices
My brother sells a lot of trucks to a salvage yard in Kansas. I will get his info, Also see were the same part is used in the T800. I think we have a couple T800 in the yard waiting on paper work to be scrapped. Will check You could wire in a old school buzzer and light like we used to have with minimal effort. Tom
Hopefully, you'll find the part you need. Looked like it was snowing in Davenport, IA. We got about 3 inches last night in eastern Washington State. It melted to about an inch.
wire in a mack 7mr249 to the switch in the dash and hook up key power to the other side, or you could plum it into the vigal bar. not sure if freightliner still sells the vigil bar or not. if your low air switch isnt grounded get a hobbs switch and plum it into the air block.
+ Any electronic shop can "easily" fix ( rebuild ) that alarm, even your CB dude.. if u have a soldering iron 🧇: just find, Carefully, the loose transistor and reweld it in place. Just wear a grounding bracelet b4 touching it.
The circuit board has a dip switch. Have you taken an Ohm reading on each switch. Each should give a good open and closed circuit reading. If you are not getting that, try using Deoxit on the switch and toggling each many times, then retest. With a quick look at the board on screen, that to me is the most suspect component.
Depends on whats wrong with it.I saw a circuit board their looks like. I would suggest maybe taking it to a computer repair place and see if they can take it apart and clean and repair it for you.Well now the DOT knows your running without one now!🤦♂️
Take it to an electronic shop. Maybe a avionic shop at an airport. I have a friend who primarily works on electronics and he can fix anything. Check the airports.
That storm dumped some snow in WV too.. it was not a fun drive from SC up to Rochester NY on Monday.. Driving a truck through WV on a sunny day has its challenges and snow made it a nightmare.
@johnarnett1172 Yeah, I live in Southern NJ where 2 inches of snow shuts the entire state down lol.. I always loved the snow but Monday was a challenge, 35mph up 77 to 19 to 79.. it took forever
+ Check if there is a recall on that one, mother board should not be exposed like that, yr body static electricity is enough to burn z transistors , they should pay for fixing it.🎉
Dirty? How many gravel lots do we drive in… it gets in, the A/C and heat system picks it up, circulates in the cabin space then settles when the air inside the space is undisturbed.
You've got a lot of great suggestions here for curing your part problem. Vander haag's, other Kenworth models, CB repair shop. The only thing I will add is I've had something similar repaired at my computer repair shop. I didn't drop it off at a shop out on the road. I did it close to home, so they could have it for a week or two, and I would be close by when it comes time to pick it up. 👍
How does that thing work? Is it wired into sensors on the truck. Should be fairly simple to wire a 12V buzzer to the air pressor sensor (assuming that's what trips the alarm). I'm a retired electrical engineer and can whip something up if I know what the input is.
Can you have that one rebuilt? I was an AT (Aviation Electronics Tech) 20 years in the Navy. I’m would think you could find an electronic shop that can replace/rebuild the guts of the existing one
Rebuild. Mechanics have the electronic dashboard sent out to have them rebuilt. Basically the same thing. The only difference is you will not be sending tach,Speedo
Maybe a computer repair shop could rebuild it or an electronic school. Could you install a low pressure switch in aire tank run a wire to a buzzer in cab.
Kurt, don't ask for one from a W900. Some years of the T300 and T800 use the exact same module. Ask salvage yards for one from one of them instead.

Add an air pressure switch to your air tank. You should be able to buy an adjustable one. Wire it to your dash with a light or buzzer.

VANDER HAAGS south of Council Bluffs has a couple of them.
Kurt, honest advice. Take it to a music store (instruments like guitars etc…) that has a repair department. The components used in that piece is the same as electronic components used in the music industry. They have the parts right there for cheap.
I second this, should be fairly easy to identify a bad component with a meter and solder in a new one
Or ask a local savvy ham radio op -- contact a local ham club for referrals. Just a thought. GL!

Hey Schmidt , why don't you take that board over to the CB shop and see if that boy can fix it ? Later
Did you check part number S54-1002? It is supposed to be the replacement number for the old part.
Vander haggs Sioux Falls says they got one ready to ship $356.00

Hopefully, you'll find the part you need. Looked like it was snowing in Davenport, IA. We got about 3 inches last night in eastern Washington State. It melted to about an inch.
Best advice I could give you is go to small salvage yards and look for a KW that is same year model. Good luck.

There are automotive electrical repair places out there on TH-cam and whatnot you could send it to. Probably save you a gang of money
You could also try a good electrical instrument fitter to repair the old part... good luck from Australia

if we had the electrical schematic, it could possibly be repaired, if the parts are available or could be substituted
Talk to the cb shop guys
Use a Murphy Air Pressure Gauge with a wired buzzer & set it @ your desired PSI Level. That is how it was done in the 70-80's.
