And here originates the theory that OG Steven (Handsome Steven) is dead, and all the story from this episode onwards is an alternate timeline Steven while the original timeline just goes down because there's no protagonist lmao

when i first watched this episode i just justified it by saying it was the other way around and the steven at the end is our steven
no man I think the last steven is truly our steven and the beginning of the episode we've been following an alternate steven.
I mean if all the timeline was erased then it’s even darker because Steven didn’t just erase himself but everyone who existed in every single one of those timelines without them ever even knowing. So it all works out in the end right? 😅 except ya know…the fact that he probably traumatized the hell out of his alternate self
Unless when the thing is destroyed it destroys all the timelines it created too.
There's a moment I'm genuinely not sure if they picked up on. Sadie mentioned that they stayed up all night together, and Steven said "that must've been some video game!" Sadie... clearly meant something else, and she was dangerously close to letting it slip to Steven. But instead she just said "yeah... it was."
@@Ultimaniacx4 no offense to them but I really don't know where their heads are at sometimes😥. For one they talk too much over the video, I get that there's 4 of them and I'm not hating but like I wish they'd pay a little more attention and stop jumping to conclusions so much😅. This show while a little sillier in the beginning is actually really realistic the whole way through (and only gets more so as it continues). And deals with a lot of real-world type situations so it shouldn't be written off as just another "cartoon" yk? You at the very least gotta give it a little bit more attention than you would a regular cartoon its a pretty multilayered show😓

I just can never get over how the creative team for Steven Universe can make such complicated and dark concepts like time travel paradox's and body horror and not only make it digestible for a mainstream audience and kids but also make it ... cute and hilarious, its amazing to me 😅

It is absurd to me how anyone can possibly notice stuff like that. I mean, I believe you, but even after rewatching that scene several times I cannot tell that she plays a wrong note.

You can tell season 1 wasn't that planned out because the implications gems have time travel technology completely changes fucking everything about how the story would've went lmao

@@randömfiish it was a leftover mcguffin from the pilot, they didnt want to waste. But it doesnt really mage sense, why noone ever used timetravel before and after this, also why would they need a cave of wonders, like at all? The strawberrypyramid, sandcastle and seaspire imploded, because their powersources got either removed, or was missing in the first place. Building a giant structure whose sole purpose is to collapse, to guard a tiny timethingy... They could have just used a SAFE with a combination lock, or door like the temple, that only the gem with correct authority can open in the first place.
Not gonna lie, Steven and the Stevens was a pretty dark episode for the beginning of the series. The scene with all the Stevens dissolving into water or goo or whatever it was really freaked me out. Their screams didn't help, either.
I know this topic was discussed in the previous Steven Universe video but I just wanted to say again that I apologize for any toxic fan comments about Pearl, your reactions are refreshing and fun and you shouldn't stop reacting to a great cartoon just because of the fandom.

True, the fans response is due to seeing pearls development for 5 seasons, a movie and a epilogue series like im sure by the time they get at least half way through the series. They will love pearl (even more than they do) they have a big episode for her coming up soon on patreon so that will be great to see.

I have not seen any "toxic" comments per say but certainly some that can be considered rude. I have crituiqed them myself but I hope it didn't come across as toxic, if it has I'm sorry about that. I really enjoy their reactions and commentary especially in the later episodes on Patreon.
Something i noticed about comment sections with SU reactions is ppl NEVER put themselves into the reactor's perspective
They don't know why this scene or this character reaction is important and also they're not supposed to magically guess what you didn't guess when the episode first aired

This show does start out really slow and gradually picks up momentum as it goes, but once it does get to full speed its brilliant (it didn't actually truly grab my attention on first watch until the season one finale to be honest, but after that I loved it😂)
Dude honestly same. Like I enjoyed after the first couple but I also had a pretty vague idea of what was gonna happen so I could look forward to it (I didn’t start watching till after the show ended and right before the movie came out)
@@echonvoid definitely gets less predictable when they're done with worldbuilding stuff and start introducing the things we're not SUPPOSED to know well like honeworld and the war n stuff
honestly, what i like is that while later episodes are attention grabbing, on rewatches the early episodes are more interesting. Its interesting to go back, pick up on forshadowing and easter eggs, see the difference in character and their growth, see where some problems might have begun, etc.
I actually really like rewatching the show
I really like the 'i know how to burn people!' and 'burn! burn people!' because it really shows that this is a child being raised by aliens. Just the complete and utter inability to grasp that this is an idiom and not literal. Not thinking for one second about the implications either honestly.
It's funny how many episodes basically end with "Thank you, Steven, for saving me from the danger you put me in."
I love how you guys are watching one of my absolute favorite shows. Every episode is so worth it for the story and I get so happy when you post these videos.

Lars was the issue in that relationship cos he can be a selfish jerk but he also struggles with showing that he cares. Sadie could pick up on the little ways that he showed he cared but was too quick to accept doing things for him and being okay what little (if anything) he gave her in return.
Its a good thing for lars (and sadie) that character development exists 😅
On surface level, Amethyst's subjective flaw is immaturity or impulsiveness, Pearl's is rigidity or compulsiveness, and Garnet's is mild apathy.
