Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century. A number of bloody terrorist acts were committed against high state officials. The main goal of the terrorists is the murder of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich. The process of preparing a terrorist attack reveals the psyche, feelings and aspirations of terrorists, each of whom commits terror for various reasons. One after another, terrorist attack attempts fail - almost all of its organizers die. The survivor, Georges, suddenly realizes that the murder of the Grand Duke becomes for him the meaning of his existence, and that he will do anything to carry out his plan. He commits a daring murder, however, he is disappointed...
