This piece just nails that feeling of “Right. I have to keep going.” Link has to say goodbye to Zelda after following her down into the surface world and battling monster after monster, traversing through perilous temples and dungeons and ancient facilities alike. And when he finally sees her, it’s only for a moment, before she has to go again. That repeating melody rising up and down in a continuous pattern is reminiscent of a clock ticking onwards and onwards, while the rolling snare feels like a trudging step forward. Link is reluctant to go on. The strings holding out extended notes in the background feel like his anxieties for the future. He is uncertain where to go next. But that clock keeps on ticking. And he keeps taking those trudging steps. Forward towards a better future, where he might finally be with Zelda again. Just a beautiful piece.

I was sad too man. The comments section was unlike anything I'd ever seen. So many people remembering their younger days and it made me sad. I would just read the comments and cry because I missed my childhood. I found this song in a very hard time in my life and it reminds me that time marches on, and we must march alongside it.
