Tamera hit the nail on the head for me and it made me tear up. "Ask me instead of assuming what my emotions are and when I answer you, believe me."
I need to use this for myself and ways when others tell me things. I always assume and always question when someone tells me the answer.

@@AnAdorableWombat1seriously I’m the same way and I realize it may stem from having trust issues I also feel that I can tell when someone is telling me something genuine and when they aren’t , but regardless it’s something to be worked on.
Tia is the blunt one and Tamera is the extremely sensitive one. That explains why they’re set of friends are different 😂

@@MarkeySlaughterGirllll, Tia has definitely had a lot of narcissistic tendencies and vibes for years. Just being honest. Tamera is great at expressing herself. Tia is great at projecting herself. Major difference.
It seems like Tia finds it a lot easier to verbally express her emotions. Tamera seems more emotional, but finds verbally expressing those emotions difficult.
Tamera has no problem expressing her emotions, but if tia is not coming from a genuine place (which she doesn't sometimes) then it makes it difficult to communicate honestly and healthy, so she would rather not, which I completely understand. If we are not going to come to a conclusion and it becomes a pissing contest (which it does with tia) then I'm just wasting my breath, so i'll just ignore you.
@@AlienShomoe Two things can be true, right? I think you’re correct in your assertion. Tamera has her reasons for not being able to communicate her perspective with her sister. Just from this clip, one of those reasons could have to do with not wanting to upset or emotionally hurt her sister. So, she will tiptoe around the point, rather than be direct.
@@mlite30 Yes absolutely but Its not that Tamera Doesn't know how to communicate, tia does not make it safe for her to really express her emotions w/o some type of critique, because tia does not like being told she is wrong.I've watch a few of their arguments and anytime Tamera had a point tia would somehow cut the conversation short, or just flat out laugh in her face by making a joke. Hopefully she has grown since then, but during those years she was extremely immature, and emotionally abusive to her sister, and on top of Tamera already being extremely sensitive, I can kind of she why Tamera keeps her distance.
I have the same problem. I can't express myself. I have no in between it's either too high or too low. No middle ground with me.

This is 1000x better than Kardashians. Healthy relationships, real emotions, wholesome content. Please bring them back to reality television! Bad news sells better than good news which is why those drama filled reality shows may seem to do better. But I feel like I just learned healthier communication just by watching this. I know that doesn't substitute a real counseling session if I needed one. But this is much better content.

Tia is not terrible. They clearly have different levels of sensitivity, communication styles, humor and so forth. Tias not a bully or narcissist just because she may be more blunt

The problem is Tia disguised being “blunt” as being rude or disrespectful to try to get away with it and basically gaslight Tamera. That’s why Tamera said being real doesn’t give you a pass to be rude.
Tia has a hard time taking accountability or apologizing for doing something wrong or hurting someone’s feelings. She’s almost always giving an excuse which isn’t just simply having a different personality.
It’s narcissism.
@@RM90855 you guys throw around the word narcissism without understanding the word or what it truly means. Even licensed therapist don’t deem someone as that just from a few edited tv clips and if she WERE, their licensed therapist whose watching it unfold would’ve said it . Tia literally took accountability and said things such as “I didn’t know I was making you feel that way” and teared up about it. A narcissist isn’t gonna sit in therapy trying to genuinely work things out and get excited about building the relationship . Just because Tamera feels a way doesn’t make it a fact, and Tia explaining her feelings or perception of things doesn’t mean she’s gaslighting or making an excuse. They both have issues, Tamera isn’t an Angel and Tia isn’t a monster. They communicate and view the world differently and that’s perfectly fine, they’re working on it and they’re human.

And I never implied just because you do all those things you have to be a narcissist. But in many cases, they will actually “try” to work out problems because it makes them look like a good person. Also, Tia DID know that comment about the valley girl thing made Tamera feel offended but she blamed it on Tamera for not knowing she was joking instead of just apologizing. Tamera is her twin and knew she wasn’t joking. If you hurt someone’s feelings it doesn’t matter if you were joking - you simply apologize. You don’t blame them for being hurt. That’s wild.
I don’t think Tia is a narcissist but she has narcissistic tendencies. Honestly a lot of us do but refuse to acknowledge it. Hers are just more apparent in these clips.
@@RM90855 so then that goes back to my point, Tia is genuinely trying to correct the relationship she has with her sister hence her sitting in therapy with her , a narcissist may try but a good licensed therapist would be able to see through it. To keep trying to demonize Tia for things a lot of regular humans do is absurd, especially when she’s clearly working on herself. Tamera herself said that the producers would purposely set things up for them to butt heads. They both have flaws, for some people the valley girl comment was clearly a joke and wasn’t that deep. It’s all about perception. Tamera clearly doesn’t think her sister is that bad so all of these comments coming at Tia when we’re only seeing short edited clips are a lot of the pot calling the kettle black and group mentality occurring because I’ve seen some issue Tamera has that no one points out.

I love Tamera. She's always been my fav twin. Her energy just resonates with me. I saw a vid once where she said she felt sad bc the media/public perceived her as the goofy twin but to me she was always the sweet one.

Tia is an estp. Tamera is an esfj.. Tia wants to communicate from a logical standpoint. Tamera wants to communicate from an emotional standpoint. Tamera sees Tia as curt and rude.. Tia sees Tamera as emotionally manipulative.. They just need to meet each other halfway even if it's uncomfortable. ❤

Finally, someone with some sense to all of this. Great highlights and points of view from both sides. I agree, meet in the middle even if it's uncomfortable for both. That's called integrity while overcoming selfishness. There were other good comments, but this one really hit the spot at the right time.

The one who acts like the victim is Tia IMO. She will make little catty remarks (disguised as jokes) and be overly blunt, to the point where she makes her sister cry, but the moment Tamera tries to speak up for herself, she's gaslited into thinking its her fault. An example that comes to mind is Tamera's wedding. Tamera asked Tia to be the MOH, Tia declined, but when Tamera chose a close friend to do it instead Tia decided to change her mind after said friend had done all the work. Tamera ended up making them co-moh's to keep the peace and so that Tia could have her way as usual.

Let me say this first. I think both girls are awesome. Here’s my observation, Tam will tell Tia how She feels and Tia will just say “that’s not true”. What helped me with this was saying to the person what I thought they meant: “You are saying when I roll my eyes, you feel like I don’t care about how you feel?” And they would “Yes”. Then I would say, “I didn’t realize I was doing that, I’m sorry, it want happen again”. I mean it and I change my behavior. It’s not important for me to be Right; it’s important for Me to show the person that I Value them and our relationship. In addition, I have definitely seen Tam runaway but she does tell her how she feels first. Update: Running away is a coping mechanism to avoid blowing up in anger. Nothing wrong with that but you cool down and talk again at another time. If you don’t have a solution to the problem it will remain. If the person refuses to change, then the relationship will never get better. Regretfully, there are a lot of people who Never admit when they are wrong and refuse to change.
Why does Tia have to look at tamera like that. She is a bully. She has a very mean tone. She is an emotionally immature that is why tamera is crying. Not because she cant express herself is a manipulation.

I think they have the added expectation and burden of twin thinking. They have thought that because they are twins, they should also have twin interaction behaviors. While being twins brings many similarities, they have to remember that they are individuals like any other siblings.

I hope you fix this 😂 I had to drop a longtime cancer friend for this. I’d be around her and could sense her energy was off, like she had a problem. I’d ask her what was up or wrong, she’d always keep saying “nothing, I’m good”… then as soon as I’d leave from around her I get a long text paragraph of her going off about how she really feels. That’s so childish when I was just sitting right next to you 20 mins ago. She made me not want to ever befriend another cancer again😂

Besides their physical appearances, I can tell the twins apart just by listening to their voices. Tia’s voice is a little lower than Tamera’s.

@@lindam4006 there are a lot of layers to this that didn’t come out. Like Tia has made fun of Tam in the past referring to her as a “Valley girl” personality like she’s not Really Black. The therapist was OK but not firing up and going deep like Iyanla would have. Did Tia support Tam when she was bullied for getting in an interracial marriage? Did Tia speak out on behalf of her sister or join in? You see what I mean? They need a 2.0 with a stronger therapist.

I think that Tamera should go to individual counseling/therapy to find her voice and try to and use it she should also work on expressing her emotions openly. Tia is very strongly willed and opinionated. She seems like a bully low key to Tamera and I hate that for her. She definitely needs to do the total opposite from Tamera and go to counseling, learn how to listen to understand and be more empathetic.

As someone who has had to code switch to survive in predominately white schools and then in High School being thrusted into a predominately black school. I was made fun of the way I talked constantly and it messes with your head it seems small but it makes you feel like you’re not black enough.

Well, they have separate lives. Tamara married a successful journalist so she can rest in her feminine quality whereas Tia basically married down and was always worried about not working. It would be very difficult for them to see eye to eye.

I sort of agree, I mean it was their choice to do the show. I'm not sure if I like the idea of resurfacing these clips. I couldn't help but click due to the nostalgia. But I remember watching their reality show in the early 2010's on TV before social media took off. In today's world, everyone can have an opinion on the dynamics of their relationship and who's better than the other. There's no way Tamera could handle this show in todays world where she can see people calling her sensitive all the time. Being on "The Real" and hearing peoples opinions was even a lot for her. The twins had disagreements all the damn time on their reality show, but man do they love each other. As someone with a sister, I get it. I was always a fan of both of their work but I can understand someone being a fan of one sister over the other, they're two different people so it makes sense. But as you said, let them be. It's just sad how people try to put sisters against each other, I see it with Chole & Halle a lot these days.

I absolutely adore Tamera! She reminds me so much of myself. BUT, she is too sensitive and judgmental at times (like myself😕). I understand her wanting to worry about her twin's career but, her twin has to support her family. Tia had a husband who could watch Cree while she worked. Sometimes Tamera can come off as, I wouldn't say rude because she's extremely sweet, but a little inconsiderate. I hope they kept up going to therapy because it is very helpful in fixing relationships.
Tamera is just a freaking crybaby. When she gets called out she crys. I feel bad for Tia. Her sister always make her feel like the bad guy, instead of both apologizing and moving forward. Tia did take accountability for making fun of Tamera's voice. Tamera always wants to be right. Her bestfriend Andrea was always the problem because whenever Tamera and Tia would argue, Tamera would go vent to Andrea and she would give Tamera bad advice. Andrea literally made Tamera confront Tia in a bar and it wasn't even a good time to do that. Tia is such a sweet loving kind person and has always been my favorite out of the two. Tia seems more genuine and down to earth. Tamera is rude and she only cares about herself to be honest. She treats her sister like garbage on the show. She always wants to cry her way out of things.

I think tia is very selfish because everything is about her her twin is very smart and make her family first I respect her tia get your life together 😅
Tamera on the “Valley Girl” part. I think Tamera has probably been judged by people on how she speaks possibly and it hit a nerve. Totally understandable. It was all in her body language. Now seeing how people separate them and say things relating to personality.
