When listening to the first half I WAS going to say it’s not as great as I thought it would be but holy cow, the midpoint has an absolutely amazing beat drop from then on, if anyone wants to know I’m an enthusiastic Michael Jackson music listener.
The first half's arrangement was more inspired by the more minimal atmospheric Haunted House and Cave Dungeon tracks from Super Mario 64. I wanted to lean into the game's spooky tracks, then the drop brought more in from Koopa's Theme and Metallic Mario, and hints of the Merry-Go-Round music from the Boo level. With my covers I usually like to keep the start of it closer to the game, and towards the end bring more of the original arrangement into it.
