I'm convinced it is no longer possible to downgrade or "rollback" firmware on any Phantom that has been updated to 3.08 or above within the past week. DJI has definitely done something to circumvent the downgrading process. I'm not able to even hard reset using the method described in this video. NO matter what I do, 3.08 is the lowest ANY version of the assistant will let me go.
If you do not have the small wire, use aluminium foil. I folded a small piece of foil to link both pins. The process went very well. Except that it did not solve my problem. I did exactly what you did with my Phantom 2 Vision but my 4 lights remain the same. I know that we are dealing with 2 different issues but I wanted to give it a try. But thank you anyway. I replaced the original motors of my Phanrom 2 by T-Motors. I had special attention how to wire these motors to their esc´s.After the work i started up the Phantom. The Phantom reacts as in your movie, no self check beeps, red blinking leds and beeping all the time. I opened the RC Assistant and everything seems OK. Rick, had total gimbal failure(power and no control) 2 weeks ago after upgrading all the software. Unit is a DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ purchased on 09/22/2014. Have new RC and the upgraded motors,ESC & props. Flew/ took photo fine prior to shutdown for winter in Dec. 2014. All controls and main unit worked fine prior to the upgrade, but after firmware upgrade all thing still work fine except no gimbal control, just sits there with no movement at all. Just flops around. found this help on PhantomPilots Blog and asked for help-was led to your video. So though I would give it a shot as nothing else worked. Could not "reset firmware" as per you instructions thought I was trying. Unit just beeped and showed no firmware information, but no go, something different with newer P2V+?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a problem with my Phantom 2 Vision Plus. My Phantom cannot connect to the computer for the update. Anytime I hook up to update, there is an error message that tells me to Connect to the Controller. Do you have any idea for for how to connect so I can update my firmware? And do you know how to reset the battery because after a full charge, it only runs for about 4-5 minute and lands with a red power signal. I checked the battery life. But the green light says it's still good. I don't know what the problem is with the battery. Please reply soon. Thank you.
Great video thank you. I want to see if u can help me. I had a small crash where my pv2+hit my truck. It fell to the ground not much damage motors run camera stayed together no ribbon tear thanks to my gimbal protector but now when i turn it on i get 2 beeps then a 3 sec delay the 2 beeps and so on. The gimbal has no power but i get video to my phone but all on the gimbal motors limp. I checked the ribbon circuit board and all connections ever used a diiferent wire harness. ? Thank u in advance.
No you don't need to.. What to do is download Assistant software V3.0, in this the highest firmware is the earlier V3.04 which means when you update it will roll back to 3.04.

i cant seem to get my dji phantom 1 to bind with my new receiver (dj6) i press the button on the inside..its goes from red to blinking orange ...power on my reciver a green light come one its beeps three times...but it doesnt sync to the drone... any ideas what might be the issue?
could it be cause the frequency operating range..... i have the same problem. My old remote uses 5.8GHz frequency band. My new V2 rc uses working range 2.4 GHz... Have overcome this problem though ?
I have a problem DJI Phantom 2 vision.I have 2 solid red lights on the phantom when powered up. Which shows as ( Abnormal compass data ) The only reference I can find is some trick with a magnet "Sanctioned by DJI " and another guy gets the red lights with one particular battery. The Zen Imu from my software assistant dissapear and the title change from Phantom 2 vision plus to Phantom 2 Vision. So Rick this was your same issue? Did you fix your gimbal issue? Morning, Rick. I have an issue I'm hoping you can help with. I recently got a new PHantom 2 with H3-3D gimbal. After unboxing I installed the gimbal per your 'new' instructions, got the anti-interference chip settled nicely. I then installed the drivers and programs then dived into the Assistant and RC software. I own another PHantom as well so this was all a piece of cake. Took the Phantom out for her maiden voyage, powered up, waited for green lights and hit the sticks. Nothing happened. I walked closer (as if this would have any effect) and tried again. Nothing. But then I noticed my gimbal was turning left and right when I moved the throttle stick right and left. Brought it back home. Uninstalled everything, reloaded everything. Recalibrated everything. Same thing. Gimbal left and right only. PLEASE HELP!
The gimbal moving with your rudder stick is normal. The issues you have is usually caused by the controller not bing properly calibrated to the phantom. Have you done the calibration in the RC Assistant and then again in Phantom Assistant.
Marionville Multirotors (the gimbal moving with the sticks is new to me. Must have been an update in the firmware...) Calibrated per DJI tech support (as you've suggested above). Still nothing. They asked me to send it in. So I guess, according to user reports of DJI service, I'll be out a quadcopter for at least a month.
DRONES FOREVER & CIA I think you can do this through the RC Assistant but you would need an older version fit which I don’t think you can download now.
Hi Ricc, A buddy on mine is running into problems and at the moment has an RMA to send his P2V+ back to DJI because it seems to be locked up. Great job on this video. I have a question how do I go about getting one of the cables you used in the video? I would like to order one. Check your customer records, you have my email address on file. I would like to order a cable just to have on hand should I ever need it. By the way the P2V+ you sold me is still going strong well after 120 flights at this point. Still flying with my original props, no issues with my camera or gimbal. To be honest I had an issue with my GPS however I solved that problem. I have zero complaints at this point. I have problem with my gimbal, and I m thinking its because of the latest firmware update which is 3.14. To solve that I, after I reset my firmware I need to upgrade it to 3.08 or older versions. But it always show the latest version (3.14) to me. I dont know how to solve this. Do you have any idea?

If you have an old useless computer laying around just pull off a two pin jumper. I ran though this hard reset two times and it didn't solve my problem. I'm thinking about replacing the compass and after that I don't know. Very frustrationg.

Can anyone else confirm that this doesn't allow you to downgrade below v3.08? If so, that's a real bummer. The last version I had installed (1.08) was incredibly stable, and everything after that has caused horrible instability problems for me..
Don't kid yourself, DJI isn't much better at Customer Service. As for the Triumph, that is just a internet rumor and nothing more. All I have seen is a poor attempt to improvement minor things on the P2 which isn't saying much at all. I think if I had the chance to do it over again, I'd buy the Walkera Tali H500 in a heartbeat. The build quality is better then any Phantom out there, it has interchangeable (Affordable) gimbals and the controller is more professional looking that that sterile white cheap piece of plastic DJI calls a controller; no wonder so many people want to cover theirs with a vinyl wrap. Sorry to burst your bubble, but DJI better have a big ace up their sleeve to better Walkera right now, I guess that's why DJI lowered their prices too.
as of july 2021... any clue as to what software to used on the phantom vision 2 plus? as far as the phantom vision app doesn't seem to work even on my old Samsung tab 2 that i used to run it on. i now have 2 of these birds and both useless.. thanks for any help

That's the correct size. If the screw is worn then try an elastic band over the head first and push the tip of the driver onto it.

That's correct but if that won't fix it just replace the compass. There not expensive.

You could try different cables. Also if you have an old pc on windows XP or 7 may help. Win10 can be problematic.

You can use anything as long as it joins the two pins.

We don't actually sell them. They normally come when you buy after market gimbals but you can use a Flight controller to receiver cable

Sent it to be repaired. It's a firmware issue with some of the video cards in the camera.
I tried everything. From hard reset to firmware downgrades. Nothing worked. So I bought a P3 pro and sent my P2 away for service.
got to the point of turning on the Phantom. It isnt showing up on the Phantom Assistant.

Just the flight controller. You can reset the gimbal, have a search for it..

Hi there, I just bought a phantom 2 vision + but can't connect it to my pc. I installed the drivers but when it tries to update my drone it sees dji-innovations inc. (usbser) Ports (12/06/2012 5.1.2600.5512) - installation failed. If I open the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Assistant_3.8 and try to connect the drone it doesn't even see it. Also my computer doesn't seem to recognise th phantom 2 vision +, even if I manually referring to the installed drivers from the dji website. Can you please help me out? with kind regards, M

I have an issue I'm hoping you can help with. I recently got a new PHantom 2 with H3-3D gimbal. After unboxing I installed the gimbal per your 'new' instructions, got the anti-interference chip settled nicely. I then installed the drivers and programs then dived into the Assistant and RC software. I own another PHantom as well so this was all a piece of cake. Took the Phantom out for her maiden voyage, powered up, waited for green lights and hit the sticks. Nothing happened. I walked closer (as if this would have any effect) and tried again. Nothing. But then I noticed my gimbal was turning left and right when I moved the throttle stick right and left. Brought it back home. Uninstalled everything, reloaded everything. Recalibrated everything. Same thing. Gimbal left and right only. PLEASE HELP!
The gimbal moving with your rudder stick is normal. The issues you have is usually caused by the controller not bing properly calibrated to the phantom. Have you done the calibration in the RC Assistant and then again in Phantom Assistant.

Calibrated per DJI tech support (as you've suggested above). Still nothing. They asked me to send it in. So I guess, according to user reports of DJI service, I'll be out a quadcopter for at least a month.

DRONES FOREVER & CIA I think you can do this through the RC Assistant but you would need an older version fit which I don’t think you can download now.

A buddy on mine is running into problems and at the moment has an RMA to send his P2V+ back to DJI because it seems to be locked up. Great job on this video. I have a question how do I go about getting one of the cables you used in the video? I would like to order one. Check your customer records, you have my email address on file. I would like to order a cable just to have on hand should I ever need it. By the way the P2V+ you sold me is still going strong well after 120 flights at this point. Still flying with my original props, no issues with my camera or gimbal. To be honest I had an issue with my GPS however I solved that problem. I have zero complaints at this point. Hey Carey, it seems you have the most updated comment out here, that makes me ask, what version did you upgrade your firmware after hard reset?
I have problem with my gimbal, and I m thinking its because of the latest firmware update which is 3.14. To solve that I, after I reset my firmware I need to upgrade it to 3.08 or older versions. But it always show the latest version (3.14) to me. I dont know how to solve this. Do you have any idea?

If you have an old useless computer laying around just pull off a two pin jumper. I ran though this hard reset two times and it didn't solve my problem. I'm thinking about replacing the compass and after that I don't know. Very frustrationg.
Whats up, The best ideas that I have seen was on Volt daddy (i did a google) Gotta be the most informative info on batteries and this type of that have found.

Can anyone else confirm that this doesn't allow you to downgrade below v3.08? If so, that's a real bummer. The last version I had installed (1.08) was incredibly stable, and everything after that has caused horrible instability problems for me..
No, it won't recognize the app it does connect to the controller though.

Wait till you need help from Walkera. We used to be a dealer but not now. Wait for the new DJI Triumph, its going to be a game changer.
Don't kid yourself, DJI isn't much better at Customer Service. As for the Triumph, that is just a internet rumor and nothing more. All I have seen is a poor attempt to improvement minor things on the P2 which isn't saying much at all. I think if I had the chance to do it over again, I'd buy the Walkera Tali H500 in a heartbeat. The build quality is better then any Phantom out there, it has interchangeable (Affordable) gimbals and the controller is more professional looking that that sterile white cheap piece of plastic DJI calls a controller; no wonder so many people want to cover theirs with a vinyl wrap. Sorry to burst your bubble, but DJI better have a big ace up their sleeve to better Walkera right now, I guess that's why DJI lowered their prices too.

as of july 2021... any clue as to what software to used on the phantom vision 2 plus? as far as the phantom vision app doesn't seem to work even on my old Samsung tab 2 that i used to run it on. i now have 2 of these birds and both useless.. thanks for any help
