As I’ve never played PV I wasn’t aware of this miraculous app until you spoke about it a few videos ago. I took the plunge and spent about 30 minutes sorting it out and setting up my various game save files and discrete mod lists for each. This is a brilliant file management tool for FS. I quite immediately experienced an efficiency in loading each of my assorted saves. The only requirement is having significant disc space to store multiple copies of a mods folder. I do use an external 3TB hard drive and tried that first with only one save. My external drive is much slower in terms of file read speeds. I’ve set some files for my internal SSD (certain 4x and 16x saves) and the rest are on the legacy hard disc drive - the file read speeds are much faster with storage on the internal drives. Ultimately, I use a slim fraction of the time now when switching between active saves. Thank you for highlighting this app as playing the game as soon as possible is the focus. Also, thanks for the tip in setting up a new map default mods folder. Well done, sir. Well done. Sláinte and stay safe.
PV Tools is very convenient. It beats having to edit the game settings XML each time. I wish it had the option to copy in multiple different “favorites” folders. For example, I could have a “JD tractors” folder, “classic implements” folder, “Polish placeables”, etc.
Thank you for the in-depth tutorial. It looks like I set up my tools correctly. Now to just build the folders and make up my mind what I want in the favorites. I have a tendency to "O look. I like that" and in the folder it goes to set there for all eternity. Looks like if you can master this, you'll be able to find conflicts easier.
Love the vid, heard you talk about this a few times and have been waiting for you to explain it in detail. Looking forward to setting this up. It is definitely going to help separate the mods used on the MP server from the ones I prefer. Keep up the good work, looking forward to catching the next stream if I can.
Great video FSG makes it really easy to understand how PV tools works, tried this after watching one of your earlier live streams when you mentioned it, and as you say its a fantastic tool. I would highly recommend it to any FS user, I found it improves my loading times no end. 🚜

You won’t regret setting this up! Take your time to understand each of the few steps and you will - much sooner - experience playing FS and the joy it brings.
If storage space is an issue the mod manager called Vortex from Nexus Mods might be worth a look. It allows you to create different profiles for your playthroughs by using a virtual mod folder. Instead of copying the files to your mods folder it drops one of Microsoft's "hooks" into the mods folder. A hook is a small file that redirects a file call to a different folder or drive. For example if the game needs to use courseplay the game will look for the Courseplay.zip file in the mods folder, instead it will find the Courseplay.zip hook file which will redirect it to the folder you actually have the file stored in and use it. This is all transparent to the game, and it will not see the hooks any differently than it would the file it's self. It is more complicated to learn than PV tools would be, but there are some benefits such as conflict detection and resolution and reduced storage space that might make it worthwhile. I know this subject is way too complicated for a comments section but if you are curious you can search TH-cam and you can find general videos on its use and how it works, but I don't think videos specifically for FS19 exist because it is mostly used by Skyrim, Fallout4 and Cyberpunk2077 players.
@@TheFarmSimGuy Not that I have noticed. It could though if you use a SSD on the C: drive and store the mods on an old hard drive. I have used it with Skyrim and Fallout4 with hundreds of mods and while changing between profiles might take 1/2 hr if moving mods manually it only takes seconds when using a manager that uses hooks like Vortex or Mod Organizer (sadly Mod Organizer doesn't support FS19).
@@vergyltantor3211 and @The FarmSim Guy I use a program that extends the ability of file explorer. It is called Link Shell Extension [details and download can be found at schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html], and it lets you create symbolic links, kind of what Vortex is doing. I have one folder where I download and sort all of my mods, :/downloads/games/fs19/, then I'll have different folders, such :/downloads/games/fs19/base_mods, :/downloads/games/fs19/small_equipment, and :/downloads/games/fs19/large_equipment for example. I will then create a symbolic link for say Bulk Buy from e:/downloads/games/fs19/scripts/FS19_BulkBuy.zip into e:/downloads/games/fs19/base_mods since it is one of the mods I load every time. Great video, been playing Millenial farmer, your video on the silo was superb very easy to understand, not like some others I've watched. one thing about the map, the cow shed triggers for feed and straw, don't work correctly, you have to reverse into the shed at the rear to get the straw to unload, the feed you have to reverse almost into the shed bars to get it to work, another thing, Course play, the other day in field 3 got 2 combines working, did the headlands ok then one was at one side of the field the other on the other side, pandemonium, now I have another version which has changes slightly, the combines used to have there number on the map screen, now they have a yellow square with cogs or something in the square with the combine number below, seems to work ok, still can't master the unload very well, when it works the tractor drives the field eventually but at 6 mph can't Catch the combines, then it stops working, I'm recording the course to the silo, do I have to do a course generation, like the combines is there anything else I have to do? One last thing sorry about saying you don't share your mods, you did mention that the modders would loose out, but surely if more people could find the mods they wouldn't loose out because more people would download then, didn't mean to upset you, but been playing the game since FS2013, one map your ought to try is FS19_Project_NDS, superb multi fruit 4Fac map, worth a look.

Interesting mod! Presumably it ends ups taking up more space on your hard drive due to the same mods being stored in various folders? (dependent on your running the same mods across several of your maps?)
Yes exactly, it should be a huge issue as the biggest mods are likely to be your maps And you won’t have duplicates of those, but Definitely more space required 👍
