What the hell is wrong with HKFA? How can it dropped so far to the point where an under 19 team from Guongzhou can play at the Premiership level? Plus the fixed matches which can only happened by the mafia, betting houses and the players who are probably poorly paid themselves comparing with a half decent job outside of the pitch. Mr. Chung was right. Does professional football in Hong Kong worth preserving? If the answer is yes, then the HKFA needs a concrete plan to revamp from the grass root programs, to the youth teams development all the way to the Premiership. Try to be involve in every step to nurture the talent and have the fans to get excited to come to the games again. If the answer is no, because of the big money and the big stars of Europe playing in the Champions League plus other top European league games. Then there is no shame because there can only be so many galaticos around the world. None of them named Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Lewandowski, and any other huge stars in their own right will ever playing for South China, Kitchee, Pegasus, Eastern, or Happy Valley. So in fact, there is no point of comparing and competing with them. Fans are not dumb and they know the gaps in quality. But the government and the HKFA should make a decision about the future of Hong Kong Football, because it is embarrassing for even their own Olympic athletes to pay out of their pockets just to compete. Even for their top ranking ones, their allowances were barely enough to survive.
