FILM DESCRIPTION:
On the last day of summer vacation in 1962, friends Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), Steve (Ronny Howard), Terry (Charles Martin Smith) and John (Paul Le Mat) cruise the streets of small-town California while a mysterious disc jockey (Wolfman Jack) spins classic rock'n'roll tunes. It's the last night before their grown-up lives begin, and Steve's high-school sweetheart, a hot-to-trot blonde, a bratty adolescent and a disappearing angel in a Thunderbird provide all the excitement they can handle.

You gotta love classic film, The acting is just so much better
Plus the fact that they really did this stunt. No CGI involved at all
Not to mention, the stories are much more original and fresh.
directors today,seens lost passion
funny thing is this director built the best CGI company
I recently saw an old episode of "leave it to beaver" where wally and Eddie did the same thing to lumpy's old jalopy car filmed in the early 60's. I wonder if George Lucas got the idea from that?
Good movie i' like it
Back when George Lucas knew what he was doing
The prequels were awesome movies
No York justice !
The axel scene was on Petaluma Blvd next to the State Theater, next to my father's parking lot for Ascherman's Food Market on Kentucky Blvd.
Time was 😅 simpler then
This film was made by a place we lived near Chula Vista California. I remember the streets and some of the places in the film. We lived off of H street! This movie is a classic…..
Cool. It is nice that you have those memories and have chosen to share those with us. Thank you.
I thought it was made up north in Turlock area
It was San Rafael and then Petaluma.....different places entirely.
I thought some of it was old time sacto because I thought I recognized some of the scene locations but a lot of those downtown places probably kinda looked the same from town to town in 1970.
You get to join the Pharaohs!
First time I saw this movie was at the Plaza theater where this scene took place. When this scene happened, the entire theatre cheered. Good times
It is shot in a way to chronicle the lives of real people .
It feels real and honest
I’m a cheez shark
Pls pin I was first

"Stand By For Justice!"
Improvised script or dialogue... "Here's mine for justice" ... as Curt flips the bird as they speed past the parked patrol car. Much of "American Graffiti" was off-script and improvised.
We're gonna need a bigger axle
Good...but you super cut it to leave out the beginning of the scene where he explains that it's the wrong car and how wax works
'it's the principle of the thing here'!!!
