I wasn't initially impressed when a Jim Gordon Batman was announced, but once I witnessed not only the poseability of the guy but also the amount of accessories--for the value??--it made me think of where McFarlane excels, and where Marvel Legends flounders.

That's the Jon Kent body painted black. An underrated figure.
I like the Jon Kent figure, my main issue is the laser eyes. Otherwise I would get it
@@mountpeek7490you could always swap it with the connor kent head, i think there's a new connor kent coming out soon too so you'll have options soon too
Vaguely reminds me of when JK Simmons was working out and revealed those muscles in the gym.
The yellow arrows is like an officer rank
Batman beyond? I thought It was reusing the Superboy "teen" mold
It is, he compared the amount of accessories.
But this body seems much more poseable to batman beyond tjo
Getting Jim Gordon Batman before First Appearance Batman is wild
getting Jim Bats before classic Diana WW is wild
Im still jonesing for the mech suit Jim used in this storyline, was it called "Super Heavy"??
i think the mech suit called Rookie
@herdyanther it is Rookie
I instantly liked this one too. If he would switch to those simple cloth capes permanently his figures would pose much better.
Dcuc is still my go to DC figures
Yes but in my opinion dc icons and storm collectibles and mezco and Mafex and dc essentials and dc collectibles are my go to mainly
With all due respect, and IMHO, it continues to show me that McFarlane is, something bad that I can't say. I AM a DC Collector, I have built 6 different DC Earth's;
Earth 1: Justice League, Main DC
Earth 2: Justice Society
Earth 3: Crime Syndicate
Earth 6: Kingdom Come style
Earth 23: Expanded Watchmen style
Earth 35: Created Equal, All Female style
I also owned my own Comic Book Store for 24 years. I have bought exactly 5 McFarlane Figures! I don't like McFarlane Scale, Sculpts, Selection, or Articulation! In some ways, McFarlane is a Genuis and a Legend, but in my opinion he can't do DC Figures worth a bad word. I have only bought Devastator, Gorilla Grodd, Lex Luthor in Green Battlesuit, Atom Smasher, and Swamp Thing as my only Swamp Thing was a wayyy undersized one from back in the Swamp Thing TV show. The Glow in the Dark one. In his defense, a few of Todd's newer figures have better Sculpts, but the Articulation is still bad, the Scale is still wrong, too Batman centric, and the few Female Figures he puts out have male, uh, packages. I am trying to me respectful, I hope I am, but I have been Collecting since April 2nd, 1994. I would like to think that I have a valid opinion.
I love watching fans treat McFarlane like the rebound girl trying to make the hot girlfriend jealous. Clearly fans are still in their feelings about hasbro.
I say that because no one is thinking about McFarlane figures any time marvel legends has a reveal. If McFarlane can have DC and Marvel, would collectors be happy? I doubt it
Interesting take. I don’t think anyone is actually trying to make anyone jealous and I think some folks have the right to be in their feels.
I can admit that Hasbro does some things right and wrong the same way I’m critical about McFarlane or give them their props. Personally I just have not felt excited for a ML in years. While McFarlane is starting to get into reuses out the gate that really even wasn’t the case and it’s funny to see McFarlane do it a few times and people complain when reuse is almost 90% of Hasbros output.
@@charlesblack1491 …..I want you to count everytime mcfarlane does something good, people mention hasbro. It doesn’t work the other way around. Think about it
You can go full Mcfarlane if you like, (in fact I dare you 😂). If had a dollar for everytime a collector said they are leaving hasbro, yet they are still collecting, I’d be rich
@@kwamintaylor4247 I’ve seen hasbro and McFarlane mentioned in both ways so I’m not understanding what you’re trying to say here.
Nothing will get me to get back into Legends. I don’t even collect that scale anymore… for my Marvel fix I opt for Selects.
@@charlesblack1491 I’m glad you moved on from legends. If collectors are truly done with a line, they don’t even bring them up anymore. I don’t collect mcfarlane, so what they do to potentially frustrate me is not my concern.
I say that for all the hasbro haters, there is a lot of them. Instead of crying about a line you don’t like, simply do what you did, focus on a line that makes you happy
@@kwamintaylor4247 I mean you can be done with something and still bring it up especially if you have to see it often. If you collect mass produced lines and visit certain sites you’ll still see Hasbro products. It just all depends on how you go about it. Hope you weren’t implying I brought up Hasbro because I was just replying to you.
Also hope you’re not referring to me as a Hasbro hater. Definitely not.
Nightwing body right?? Ugh……yeah idk. Mcfarlane and Marvel Legends go hand in hand, with Marvel Legends going on top with physique. Mcfarlane still makes the weirdest body’s idk why.
I still prefer marvel legends but at least if this means that McFarlane is actually giving accessories from now it could get better, I still don't like them since they're 7 inches but I hope it makes Hasbro to stop giving one pair of hands max on new figures
@@PinkFriess agree 100%
Loooooooong leeeegggsss
@@keonscinist2333 it’s not even the long legs that make it look that way, it’s the horrid physique lol
@@roberthuff4763i agree he can make some really ugly figures but some turn out really good when it comes to proportions and they hit different. An example i can thing of is speeding bullets batman. That thing is stunning
That figure can serve for a 7 inch Daredevil custom
Dope idea.
just by you saying ....Really , Tells me that you have NEVER read the Detective comics run w/ him and Rookie . You would WANT him . I bet or Know that you are cool w/ any version of rookie and wouldnt blink ovr 1 being made . It would be purchased.
I LOVE this figure and just like Nightwing they actually get it right. I'd hope so being there is nothing to the figures. did they really use this on the Batman beyond buck ? i thought it was the J.K. Buck?
Great Video
Customization will be awesome.
I like this dc multiverse jim Gordon as batman figure 😊
Marvel legends sucks man. They feel so cheap and idk for little kids. Mcfarlane might not paint them like he used to but man they are awesome just got the fighting the frozen Batman legendary
This is the project Superman body (and others)
Finally another headsculp in the set
So your saying mcfarlanes better because this 1 figure has extra hands?
No, he’s calling out the greed of Hasbro-who would sell this same figure at five dollars more, with only one pair of hands and at a slightly smaller scale. Probably wouldn’t even have the extra headsculpt either.
McFarlane makes 7” scale figures with more articulation and arguably better paint apps and is still able to offer extra accessories for some releases without price gouging.
It's not batman beyond its the Jon Kent body with a belt.
The head looks out of proportion? Head looks too big…
But otherwise, it looks decent with all the extra stuff.
I am still of the belief that Macfarlane’s character choice is TERRIBLE
I am not interested in Macfarlane bar a few exceptions, but Oh my god why is it so hard to make a good classic Wonder Woman?
I just order him he is on the way
I think the body is fine but that head is entirely too big. It ruins the proportions.
Can you do a review on the new mcfarlane Batman the animated series figures?
I honestly can't get myself to pick them up. At $30 a pop, the quality just isn't there for me.
I have this figure that Im trying to sell cuz I have no interest in it... just got it in the 3 bundle
seen a lot of people get this specifically for those black hands cuz todd released titans nightwing with closed fists and nothing else lmao
I'm sorry to say this, but if extra hands and accessories for a less popular character makes you think McF is better than MLs.... You, my friend, are an extremely deluded McF fanboi. I mean, I know MLs got some absolute stinkers too, but it also has some great value offerings with many important characters getting multiple accessories and headsculpts (with invariably better articulation than any McF any day).... Let's see McF do a MAJOR character with so many accessories without drastically increasing the price and we'll talk....
Currently he's selling regular figs with no accessories under the Gold Label category for 40USD😂
Yeah lol, whilst not every ML figure has alternate heads and hands, a whole lot of them do. Even movie figures where likeness licensing is a potential extra cost do it.
Is a big difference mcfaralne is his own boss. He works for his own company! While hasbro works for others!
Marvel legends still better, i fucking hate Mcfarlane toys, but both of these toy companies don’t match against Japanese imports, more expensive, but still
One word accessories
