im frm waipahu but moved to anaheim, ca. i miss new years eve in waipahu BECAUSE of the firecrackers and aerials and all the people going crazy!! We dont pop fireworks here in CA so ur pretty lucky
There goes tens & thousands of dollars just for a few minutes. I was born & raised in hawaii & I live in kapolei but I will not spend more then $50.00 on fireworks & it is only for my kids that I buy fireworks. I would rather just watch my neighbors throw their money away. LOL. Money is way to hard to come by nowdays. Awesome video though. Nothing like Hawaii on new years eve. Happy 2010!!!!
My dog, like many others, is a nervous wreck from November through January, that's why I'm mad. I had no choice but to "enjoy" the show. It was happening literally right outside my bedroom window. If this were truly confined to ONE night I'd be less upset. I could sedate my dog for one night. However, I am not going to drug my dog for two MONTHS.
Looks like you enjoyed the show yourself, so why you mad? Also most people split cases so the cost ain't to high. You can blame your law makers for the increase in aerial fireworks, its been on the raise since they put a permit on firecrackers. Most people think hey why go buy a permit when I just can go to the black Market and get everything I need.
I remember when I was walking with few my friends at there house in waipahu across the bridge by 7 eleven and, that huge explosion on the road by us in 2 feet away felt the motion and my ear felt nnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee like that lol. I thought I amost die those crazy filipinos neighbors are insane.
Anymore? I think if you gathered ALL of the people who have been arrested this year (of which even fewer will be fined or put in jail) for illegal fireworks you could not even fill a phone booth, my friend. If law enforcement were making any headway on this issue, you can be sure they'd be telling us about all the arrests they've made... So, no, you don't make sense. Don't even try making a pseudo-libertarian defense of this.
This is one of the best scenic views of the fireworks action! Great video! THEY NEED TO UNBAN THE BAN NOW!
Well said, Heather.

I wish it were only "for a few minutes." It went on for hours, and, at a much lower intensity, it began over a month ago!
@billso In essence, they are mortars.
Yes, that's the place. Small world.
Yea I agree people have been going crazy the last few years popping from November to January none stop. They really need to do something about that.
Now times that by every neighborhood on da Island or the whole state for dat matta, nice brah
LMFAO at the tags!
@Poinographer Yeah ok you have a point there. Lighting up fireworks wayyyy before the 31st is a problem that would have to stop if they unban the ban.
Az nuts, brah!! Lucky we live Kauai, farm lot, no noisy neighbors. I feel so sorry for the pets & old folks. Too much!!

do u live in those twin tower apts. in waipahu right?
the newly built ones?
my cousin lives there!!
Wow!
There are plenty of units available for sale in my building, so come on back to Waipahu! haha
Translation for non-Hawaii residents:
"Now times that" = "Multiply that"
"da" and "dat" = "the" and "that"
"matta" = "matter"
"brah" = "sir"

haha this is how we do it in waipahu side no other city can beat us lol
@Cyjah808 I'm willing to live with ONE NIGHT of fireworks (minus illegal aerials and bombs), but not two months. Deal?

ma it's almost automatic. just lay down and u going see something.
well maybe if the areials were made legal, the police would not even have to patrol the streets....BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE LEGAL! ..get what im sayin?

Hmmm. Because there are so many illegals, they should be made legal. Okay, you're going to have to explain that logic to me, please...
