If you knew actually where you wanted to blow in, then yes. Explosives have an advantage in that they have a much greater explosive range whereas arrows are highly concentrated.
They need to nerf these items effectiveness on top tier building mats. It takes 2 min to get into the highest tier base and you can do it solo. No one even bothers with the catapult. You can rob anyones base in 2 min no matter how much effort they put into it. This is one of the reasons servers are empty. 100's of servers with 2 or 3 people on them.
way more factors are involved when it comes to raiding. how the base is built where its built and do you have to go through foundations instead of walls. then its likely that the players will be online while you are trying to raid them. then there thralls and all types of stuff. you can't even use Catapults because usually the whole area is claimed so you can't build close to their base. if they nerfed this it be impossible to raid large clans. not to mention your going in blind. you have no idea where they keep their goods. you can easily waste a raiders time if you build good enough. with decoy locations. then there are vaults. i miss the oil stacking.
