I always thought that the Yellow Devil was supposed to be scary, hence the X5 theme being what it is. But now I see that he's really just funky.

The first time I ever encountered the Yellow Devil was in Power Battle, so I've always considered this to be his theme instead of the Wily Boss theme from Megaman 1.
(Also why didn't Capcom use this for his encounter in Megaman 11? Missed opportunity there. People who don't know him will be like "Oh hell yeah this is a bop" and people who've played the arcade games like me would be like "aw hell no, not again")
It took me a little by surprise they also used this in Complete Works/Anniversary Collection for Wily Stage 1/2 for the first game.
Gotta love those bass lines from the Rockman 7 soundfont!

@@PeanutTechno The PS1 ports suggest that this is somehow based on Wily 1 from the first Mega Man. I don't hear it though.
