You can resign within a year. I can tell you about this one bcz my sister resigned in 3 months from CHSL to join CGL and just recently my brother joined MTS and then got CHSL result so left MTS and will join CHSL by the end of this month (he was delaying joining bcz of CGL mains exam)
I'm in a central govt job and this is what i know- if you are in a govt job and wish to take any other job exams u r supposed to notify the admin dept beforehand about taking that particular exam. This way there shall be no problem while getting an noc and the ELs(Earned leave) u saved will be carry forwarded in case of central-central switching(idk abt state-central/state-state). You can resign anytime u want, nobody cares. Incase u didn't notify your dept beforehand about taking an exam, u have to cite "personal reasons" as the reason to leave the job to get the NOC but the ELs will not be carry forwarded in this case.

Bhaiya. Mera ews certificate crucial date se 2 din delay hai 15 th oct 2022 because jo CEO(anchal adhikari) wo aa nhi rhi thi.. Isliye sign nhi ho paaya.. 13 th oct tak.. And i do have an ews certificate for the financial year 20-21 ..i am sure that i will get raw marks more than UR category.. Will department will consider me as a UR or I will get disqualified?? Please reply
I've seen this case with, i guess, one of the toppers of recent years. As far as i know, he was asked to provide a certified proof from concerned authority that he was EWS before the crucial date.
