Karachi session upheld the Gandhi Irwin Pact of 1931
and at the same time said that the goal of Indian
National Congress is Poorna Swaraj. The President at
this session was Sardar Patel. However the reception
of the Indian National Congress and Gandhiji in
particular was not very encouraging as they were
shown black flags all along their way to attend the
Karachi Session. It was because Rajguru, Sukhdeva
and Bhagat Singh were hanged. Bravery of these
martyrs was praised through a resolution at the
Karachi Session of Indian National Congress 1931.
Karachi Resolution of 1931 also promulgated a
Fundamental Rights and Economic Programme.
