When installing this unit in a 4 bedroom stick built home do I need to install the fresh air kit What are the benefits to installing it? Great value videos are why I enjoy watching folks like you on TH-cam! Thanks
Good Afternoon Fresh air intake is optional on a stick built home. Always refer to manual. We usually see a benefit on newer homes due to windows, insulation and so on.
Ive done alot of research on pellet stoves. I continue to come back to the pp130. Its a simple design without all the wifi touch screens and such. Every stove will have flaws and parts fail. I like how easy it is to replace parts as needed. Thanks for video. My pp130 is being delivered today...along with a new handle😊
We appreciate your feedback on the Pelpro PP130. It helps others that are considering a new pellet stove.. Yes. No digital display...just simple controls. Enjoy your day. Brett and Briggs
I lost a control board to a freak thundersnow the first season we had it. I HIGHLY recommend surge protection on these stoves. Other than that. I really like this stove. Yes, daily cleanings with no ash pan can be a pain, but you get what you pay for in that regard. I was new to pellet stoves and was not sure I would enjoy them as a heat source. It is a good entry-level stove. I plan to move it to the garage and upgrade in a few years.
Thank you for the quick response. Your information really helps me out on determining whether I should or should not put an outside air intake kit. I've had a quadrifier for about 14 years. The classic Bay to be exact and I am looking for a new one. I never did put one on the quadra fire and really don't know what the difference would be. Thank you
Have had our Pelpro for a couple months and like it. But the glass keeps getting black soot on it. Any tips to help with that? We keep adjusting the air setting slowly to figure it out but no luck. Enjoyed your video! Thanks!
Inside left firewall panel remove and vacuum out the air shoot to exhaust fan. Also, make sure all venting pipe is clear. Last....burn pot clean and exhaust motor strong. Hope this helps. Please subscribe. Brett and Briggs

These can heat up about 2500 sqft... Would those be too hot for smaller living space? For example a small 600 square feet shack (or trailer home)? Or would the thermostat (temp sensor that you show) would still work well to have a steady/confortable temperature?
No ash pan was a no go.bought a comfort built hp 22. 2400.00 was a deal on sale,my lopi that iwas replaceing from 14 years ago was 3000.00 back then still works only replaced the door seal.i guess you get what you pay for.
I’m getting a slight smoke smell when my stove fires up the door seal appears in new/good condition it’s been pulled apart and cleaned the way you’re video suggests I was wondering if I can use the small dial below the temperature control to adjust that?
Double check air flow....all venting, burn pot clean. The small blue dial below the knob adjusts the pellet feed. If you are receiving too many pellets in burn pot, try turning the blue dial to the 11 o clock position for a while and see if this helps. Left inside firewall panel removed....the air scoop there usually gets filled with ash. Please make sure its clean. Hopefully this helps. Please subscribe. Thank You
Great video. Subscribed. I got ripped. I bought a Quardrafire Outfitter II. It's a Pel Pro pp130 that will take a thermostat, has a better warranty, and costs 1000 more. The only difference parts wise that I can find, is the control board (I'm assuming it's because of the thermostat compatibility). I've had no issues in 2 years and about 3 tons, but if I could go back in time, I would have gotten the pp130. Maybe I'm missing some of differences between the pp130 and Outfitter II, but that 1000 dollar difference isn't worth it, from what I see. Maybe you guys know about any real differences.
Good info for all. I believe the outfitter replaced the Heatilator Cab50. Many of the parts are similar to the pelpro pp130. Others out there, please leave your personal feedback to help this person. Thank You
What is the reason to have the air intake on a remanufacturer home? And I see that there’s a lot of pillows over the market like the quad or the Harmon pellet stove the price difference are tremendous. Do you see a difference on the efficiency of them versus the cost of them?
Manufacturerd home...we believe an outside air kit is needed due to the structure and engineering. Most newer models are pretty air tight. Harman and Quads....look at the efficiency rating on both. The Harman is pretty unique as there auger and pellet distribution system is well designed In our opinion. Take a look at Comfortbilt models if you wish. Others out there? Please comment to help out this viewer. Thank You Brett and Briggs
mine feeds, but doesn’t light. it blinks green and gives up and blinks red. i’ve cleaned it with a vac removing the panels. i’ve cleaned the chimney. this is my second season with it and have used it this season for a week or so. i replaced the ignitor.
How do the innards compare between this model and the lesser btu models? Is there any air drawn into the exhaust from inside the building or is all that taken from the outside air?
Should the whole auger motor assembly be spinning clockwise and counter clockwise. Should I use a metal zip tie to hold it in place? I see you have a bolt on the auger is that something to hold it still.
This was a customers Stove and has been returned after annual maintenance. Please keep your PP130 in its OEM state for best performance. Including the auger assembly. Thank You
Thank you for a reply. I will keep it OEM spec. Does the whole auger motor spin back and forth. Sometimes the wire get wrapped up and disconnected. Is this something you have seen?
Unplug Plug cord back in Green Light is good Make sure burn pot is clean and air holes open. Re start May be a faulty igniter. Trying to help here through this forum
This stove is a pain in the ass. The blue trim level is a nightmare. The dial is almost impossible to get a consistent temperature. The gasket started falling off within a couple weeks. The side panels are a pain to get off with the 3 bolts on each side. The worst thing about it is cleaning it. There are 3 baffles that need to come out and the front and back of them need cleaned. They are a pain in the ass to get out and even harder to get back in. Horrible design! At the bottom left of the stove alot of ash will accumulate there and its hard to get it out even with a small vacuum attachment. Theres more about this stove I did NOT like, but I can't remember it all. It DOES put out amazing heat though! It did heat most of the lower rooms in our house and its a big house. I just purchased the Comfirtbuilt HP42 thanks to your video and I am praying its way better than this pos Pelpro PP130. Their customer service is also great. However, I would never recommend this stove to anyone.
Agreed I feel it's best to keep your comments for others out there. The HP42 is new this year. So far....the stove is of good value and standing strong. We appreciate your feedback.
@@MilesPelletStoves ok yeah just being honest. This stove cost my me and my family alot of frustration this year. Whatever you do, do NOT prime the stove on accident while starting it or it will keep dropping pellets and not ignite and when it does your house will be filled with smoke and it takes a long time to get out. Its very easy to do it on accident. Another reason I sold this stove for a new one.
@@MilesPelletStoves when I get the new stove I will go on your Comfortbilt HP42 review about it and let you know how it is. Thanks again for the great reviews as they are hard to find on youtube, the good ones anyway.

Based on the square footage noted, take a look at the HP40 Alpine and the Quadrafire Santa fe.....just ideas.
On my 3rd season with my 130, knock on wood it’s been flawless, keep exhaust and the stove clean and it will take care of you ;)
Glad to hear that yours has been running well! 🔥👍🏼

Really like the PAUL pro 130 however, I have an amber light flashing. Any ideas?
Possibly the vacuum switch.
How about this. I have the pelpro 130 and iam now getting some suet dust blowing out from the heat exchanger vent
Hopefully is just normal dust from sitting. If it is ash and or you are smelling smoke, please do not use and call the manufacturer

The innards are ok or run of the mill in our opinion. Air intake can be drawn from inside or outside the home.
