please give us more of the villains. Maybe also discuss the differences between the original comic and the cartoons; as well as what you think of the changes
Yeah hopefully they make more movies. The tmnt decade was my favorite decade ever. Better then these years 2021. Back then people were more normal and cooler not stuck up.
The 2003 series was my introduction to the TMNT and it surprised me with how much of it was based on events that happened in the original Mirage comics.
@Thomas Welbourn No, they didn't adapt The Passing, The River (although, this one could be slided off since, they didn't have the rights to all the characters in the story), Men Of Shadow, Sky Highway, Distractions, Turtles Take Time, The Ring and Twilight Of The Ring, Juliet's Revenge, Halls Of The Lost Legends, Masks, and Shades Of Gray.
@@DeesNerds Maybe not a heavy rated R but I agree. What WB has done with their DC cartoons like Justice League Dark, Dark Apokolypse War, Deathstroke or the MK Scorpion movie would be a great example. If they make it more mature they need to build the story to support the mature rating. If they do that then it could be truly amazing. BTW Scorpion's Revenge is AMAZING!! Bring that kind of chaos to the TMNT franchise but tone it down just a little bit.
For the most part the 2003 animated series was close to the comics. Then there's the other awesome TMNT animation, series and movies: *TMNT* (2003) *TMNT: Fast Forward* *TMNT: Back To The Sewers* Along with the "crossover" animated movie *TMNT: Turtles Forever* Edit: watching this video I thought of the mouser's as tiny Agent Smith's.
Man the orginal comic is awesome it's dark violent and weird and that's awesome Kevin Eastman and Peter laird are incredible at drawing the orginal turtles and are good writers
#8, is underrated. I love Savanti Romero as a villain wish we would have seen more of him, especially in the original cartoon series or the turtles in time video game. I like that we got more of him in the post 2000 cartoons.
@@davindeptuck7905 True, though i forget specific issue numbers. He has three total apperinace IIRC. All adaped in the early 2000's cartoon i think. (Playmates even made an action figure of him as part of the palio patrol turtle variants. Even Lord Dregg didnt get a figure in the mid 90s! And he was the big boss for two seasons!) Savanti also showed up once in the 2012 series in a loose adaption (homage?) of #8, but of course without Cerberus.
The Shredder is obviously my favorite villain out of all these. Baxter Stockman is eh, i kinda just prefer the 2003 one. Purple Dragons are meh. Just generic gangsters that the Turtles easily kill in the first issue. Although, they do kinda get a bit depth later. The Triceratons are meh also. Nothing really special to them besides being Triceratops. General Blanque is terrible in my opinion. Savanti Romero has potential but, it was wasted. And, finally The Foot Clan. They aren't really anything special in these first issues but, they get a lot of depth later on. Thank you for making this video! I would love to see you cover Bloodsucker! And you should review the story titled "Sons Of The Silent Age" . It's probably one of my favorite TMNT stories of all time!
I would love a top 10 of sorts for your favorite villians from the mirage, image comics that are more b or c tier that people don't really know of like savanti you mentioned. Also I would like a how I make my videos/ edits video. Love your work and keep being turtily bowdacious!!
Hi, love your channel, i don´t know if you´ve covered the "Bodycount" comic, the one that pairs Raph with Casey. I´ve always wondered about the Rat King, but that is more of a Splinter villain
En estos momentos de tanta intranquilidad en el país y en la política, este canal es de los pocos que me proporcionan diversión y un momento de escape de tanta cosa negativa. Excelente canal con vídeos de calidad, ojalá siga creciendo.
I hope Seth Rogen uses this angle for his movie. As a fan I want to see the whole story. The true original story brought to life and what I really want to see is the Turtles story right from birth to the bowl to the accident that lands in the sewer the whole mutation and of course the birth of the family with Splinter saving them kind of like what the first live action movie did but MORE. If you want the Turtles to survive now we need to reforge the bond that made us all love them in the first place but truly start over and do it right. This needs more than just a childish story because we have all grown up so it's time for TMNT to catch up with the rest of us. Serious comment of the day. Thank you haha
At the end, those guys he mentions: Giant leech guy: Bloodsucker, from TMNT #24-26 "The River" Vampires: From TMNT #29 "Men of Shadow" Weird dudes in that freeway dimension: the Mutato-Heads from TMNT #30 "Sky Highway"
Thanks so much for this, I'm extremely interested in the old Mirage Comics. I found the first volume or so, for like 25 dollars on Amazon. I plan to save up some money and buy that.
Seeing the beginning and middle storyline of the Mirage Comics introduction to the Purple Dragon Gang and situation with Baxter Stockman and the mousers definitely is the same image of the first and second episodes of the debut season of the 2003 TMNT and it seemed like the same dialogue that Leo said in the show as well. I think you probably missed the RatKing I'm not sure. QUESTION: Was Hun in the original Comics or he appeared after the show debut?
Hun was added to Mirage Casey's backstory after he was in the show. He appeared in Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 2) #56 (that continued on from a story introduced in #36), #59, #61, and #64, as part of the "Gang Wars" story arc, but the story was never finished before the series was cancelled :/
Been following your channel since it’s inception. Big fan of tint as well. Wondering if you can do any vlogs on The Last Ronin updates? PS: the next mutation series was fucking awesome.
Damn! I never knew that all this time travel and space stuff that they did in the 2012 run was in the original! How cool! And here i thought they were just coming up with it as new content and it's actually the oldest story there is ...smh...
I guess I'm an oddity as a fan because I prefer the more grounded and "realistic" villains. When the turtles started time traveling and dimension hopping, I started losing interest.
Finally, someone else who I agree with. Shredder, The Foot Clan and the Purple Dragons kept the show grounded and gritty. I love how realistic it can be. Taking on some tough street gangs of the ghetto sides of NYC. You got this warrior/gangster who runs a ninja clan that does all kinds of dirty and illegal criminal activity. That's what made ninja turtles interesting to me. The closest sci-fi aspect I liked was Baxter Stockman and his mouser robots. They weren't meant for world domination; they were the use to get rid of the rat problem in NYC but he was using those robots to steal money and jewels from banks and such. Yeah, I didn't like that season when they traveled to space. That's when I lost interest. That's why I thought the 80s cartoon was boring. Too many campy multi-dimensional beings and weird mutated creatures.
It's odd that you picked 7 villains, why 7? Was it in the first 10 comics? Also you didn't count the soldiers separate from their general but you counted the Foot separate from their master. It would be nice to see the rest of this series, I started with the Archie comics run and I'm slowly collecting everything again.
The last one was lame. No one cares about that crossover character. I never heard of him until I read the original Eastman and Laird Turtles, and no one cares about him now. Good thing the Hamoto clan have shells or they'd have broken their backs carrying that dead weight around. That was my least favorite issue of the first 14 tmnt comics, and it was a long one

Actually, Zanramon survived being shot, but was overthrown sometime after the Turtles and the Fugitoid escaped.
Yeah hopefully they make more movies. The tmnt decade was my favorite decade ever. Better then these years 2021. Back then people were more normal and cooler not stuck up.

me too
I was about to post that, I love the 2003 series and am currently rewatching it and it holds up really well
Yeah. It's weird looking at the first cartoon incarnation when you grew up knowing and loving 2003 tmnt.
@Shaman Xeed yes, they do, but the 2003 series near enough adapts the actual stories too, and adapted, I think the whole of the Mirage era of comics.
Those original comics were so good. Still hopeful that eventually they’ll do a dark and gritty movie or tv show in the vein of those original stories.
YES!!!
The 2003 series was very faithful to the original comics, check it out.
@@ThePsychoguy It sucks. 1 it's not a mature rated show 2 it sucks. The world needs a non childish version of TMNT. That's my point.
Ryan Dartez I love the 2003 show, but I was thinking evoking that gritty and almost R rated feel of the original comics. It was almost like noir.
@@DeesNerds Maybe not a heavy rated R but I agree. What WB has done with their DC cartoons like Justice League Dark, Dark Apokolypse War, Deathstroke or the MK Scorpion movie would be a great example. I read the Mirage comics as they came out in the 80's as a kid. I absolutely loved them. The best TMNT artwork, in my opinion. Great stuff.

@@AISlopTheatre That because comic book writers don't have the imagination like the ones from the 80s.
One of my favorite aspects of this channel is host’s voice, dialect and passion
8:00 Time Scepter?? So they had time travel this early in the run by Eastman and Laird? Huh...learn something new everyday.
Baxter Stockman is not only my favorites TMNT villain but one of my favorite mad scientists
#8, is underrated. I love Savanti Romero as a villain wish we would have seen more of him, especially in the original cartoon series or the turtles in time video game. I like that we got more of him in the post 2000 cartoons.

I remember watching Renet in the 2012 cartoons , cool to know she is in the comics too! Great video!
She also appears in the 2003 cartoon as does Savanti Romero.
ill love to see you make such video with the IDW version that would be abseloute cool but a part 2 to this video will be awsome

These events are soooo similar to the 2003 series. That will be my favorite iteration of the turtles for a long while.
Nah the 2003 are similar to the comics.
Funny, I was reading the original comica rn
The car chase in issue #2 was favorite of mine. You don’t see too many scenes like that. It was almost the whole issue if I’m not mistaken.

Wow, the 2003 show seemed to be heavily based off the comics.
It was....until they were forced to change it up and do Fast Forward, way to ruin a great comic timeline inspired show.
