A very up lifting sing despite its title. It makes one feel good about listening to sad songs and experiencing the feeling of sad experiences which we often try to hide.

Elton John is a Legend in his time and mine. What a great talented person. Thanks Elton for being honest and true to yourself. Can't say too much about the rest of the beautiful people. At least you speak the truth with music.

Dad had Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and played it all the time when I was young. I was born in 75 so this song was in the charts when I was 9 and I realised it was the same Elton he had been playing.

Not an expert of Elton's music - post 80's - this number really takes me back to a time of childhood times that were full of ugly abuse, yet at least so incredibly Elton diverse and forever lovable in their very own right.

      I totally get it.
"When every single word makes sense"
I'm bipolar, and when I was in my 20s I wasn't being treated and didn't have the coping skills I do now, I would take so much abuse from just about everybody, and shove those frustrations down inside me. Once a year, I would purge it all out of me. I'd find a private place where no one could hear me cry, turn on this song, and just BAWL. I mean, a screaming and sobbing BAWL.
"The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you, and it feels so good to hurt so bad"
Oh, God, it hurt! It was physically painful. Curled up on the floor in a fetal position, and having those emotions just shred my muscles to ribbons as they came pouring out. I'd cry myself to sleep. The next morning, my mind would be in a thick fog, but I always felt much better.
So, yeah. This song had and still has a big impact in my life. I'm sitting here crying as I write this, just remembering how painful it was, and the relief I'd feel the next day. I actually kind of miss it. It's been nearly twenty years since I last purged, I could use another bawl session, even though I have no reason to. Just because it felt good.

    ==TRISTES CANÇÕES ====
