Hi John, Its in the detail a good amount of weight + the front axel is sort of sprung and can give so keeping the wheels on the track but keeping it all clean is also important. As always thank you very much for taking time to watch and your very nice comments. Cheers Robert.
WOW what a lovely loco Robert. I was realy surprized at how well it run and sounded great. Well done Robert on your choice of Loco for the layout. In a word SUPERB.
Hi Allan, I must admit I did wonder myself how well he would go but without the sound on does just keep going but with it on yes not the same but for this wheel configaration one would say the best. Thanks ever so much for watching and your very nice comments and I am still building for the layout an update will come after the Saturday model show one airs. Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert, thats a lovely looking Dapol 0-4-0, it sounds and runs extremely well at crawling speeds. The detailing is amazing on such a small Loco. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, All the other video's out on this loco agree a super model indeed so took the plunge and not disapponted at all this is how all models should be well done Dapol. Thanks as always for watching and your very nice comments all I need now is for some cooler weather so I can go up in the loft and run him in although as you saw in this there is nothing wrong out of the box. Hope you are keeping yourself well and you are certainly enjoying your trains. Cheers Robert.
Great little loco Robert. Very good runner for an 0-4-0. I was expecting it to stutter now and then, but nothing. Until the very slow running. Great video, thank you.
Hi Duncan, Yes he was better than I thought he would be but having run him on the loft layout not to happy with express or curved points but its not a surprise. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments. Cheers Robert.
Hi Deano, It great now days to get a new loco that is great out of the box with nothing missing or any running faults so yes this one is super so far. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments hope you are doing ok and your layouts are progressing well. Cheers Robert.
Hi Alberto, Yes a very nice steam shunter and runs great for it size so cheers for taking the time to watch and your very nice as always comments. Cheers Robert.
Hi Colin, Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and yes a super loco indeed it just shows it can be done its a shame not all manufactorer's manage it. Cheers Robert.
Lovely little purchase. Have to say Robert that it is to hot for me also in my attic room where my little layout is. Soon be cooler though. Look forward to your Shoeburyness video.
Hi Tony, I was very suprised how this tiny loco ran but weight and the springing in the front wheels must help a lot so cheers for watching and your very nice comments and yes the heat is a bit of a pain it was 32 C in the conservatory this afternoon but it may rain on Saturday for the show wonderful. Cheers Robert.
Morning Robert, hope you're keeping well mate. This sunday morning is the first chance I've had to catch up on videos in a while and like always, your channel is on the list. There's something about thoses saddle tanks that is really nice, and that black has just nailed it. Really great looking loco. Take care Robert and speak soon as always. Lee
Hi Lee, Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and well done for even being able to do YT with a full time job so yes the little Leslie 0-4-0 is very good and I am delighted how he manage's the points did not think he would. Hope you are keeping well and enjoying your trains when you can. Cheers Robert.
I'd love to see a blue steam engine on your model railway, it would brighten it up a bit. I've begun with N Gauge, and one of the two N Gauge steamies I've bought is in the majestic BR Blue livery. King Richard 2nd, that is. The only other blue steamy I have is Bachmann 00 gauge Thomas the Tank Engine. I like blue on any steamy, some of the real preserved steamies are blue. King Edward 2nd and the Caledonian 0-6-0 tender engine are two of them. I also have a few red steamies: 4-6-0 Jubilee Leander and the 0-4-0 Santa Express tank engine of GWR status. Go on, buy a steamy in blue, it gets boring having engines in either green or black all the time. Your new recruit is very cute.
Hi Kelly, Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and yes I also have loco's of different color's but in this case wanted him to blend in as in the bright colors's he might not but thats not to say this in blue is not nice it is but not for me. I hope you are keeping well and enjoying the n gauge now that is something I could not do. Cheers Robert.
@@robertstrainset6556 It's not about whether the colour of a steamy blends in or not, it's about having fun with running the steam engine no matter what colour she/he is. You have Mallard in Garter Blue and she runs well on your railway in the loft, so if you like operating a blue tender engine, what's to stop you having fun with a blue tank engine? My N Gauge railway won't be operating till November. How do you know the tiddly-fiddly N Gauge isn't for you? Why don't you follow in my footsteps, and see how you get on? If you don't give N Gauge a try, you won't know. If I can brave my nerves and have a go, I'm sure you can too.
@@robertstrainset6556 It doesn't matter how old you are, you're never too old to learn something new. Maybe you have had 00 gauge troubles, but why should that stop you giving N Gauge a try? Don't let 00 gauge troubles stand in your way, I'm sure N Gauge will be a good new experience for you. There's no-one to tell you you shouldn't try it out, go for it. You're an average railway modeller, who should never be afraid of trying something new.
You can't ask for better than that from a short wheel base loco, super little engine. Enjoy the Shoeburyness show and might be an idea to take a flask of tea just in case...ATB, Andy.
Hi Andy, No flask as its all part of the experience of attending them and I was asked by Dawn Quest if I was attending this so thought it worth going and with rain forcast it could be quite refreshing. Cheers for watching and your as always very nice comments and yes a super engine and the very good running is I think down to the weight and the front axel springing it keeps all the wheels on the rails. Hope you are well and enjoyed the flying last W/E. Cheers Robert.
Stunning loco Robert, and looks like an amazing runner. Its growing reputation seems well deserved.
