So Bits and Bobs sells bits and bobs... And pheasant Island is a literal island with pheasants... I appreciate the efficiency of their naming to be honest.
Only thing you missed which is important is hayes hotel being the founding place of the gaa 😁 Love my home town ❤️ love your videos❤️ We visited turkey this year and if you do a podcast on the famine there is a nice connection with turkey trying to help us and being comemorated by the Drogheda football team which isnt taught in schools but very interesting. 😊
No mention of Féile? When I was there in 94 the river beside the castle was teeming with E filled drunks dancing in the water. Ah memories! Also. I didn't see a wheelchair sticker in the silver car parked at the wheelchair spot at Tesco's 🤔 Loving the reviews. Keep em coming!
One of the best things about Thurles is that its as flat as the Netherlands. It’s handy if you have a bike. The cinema is a bit shite though. Only 3 tiny screens last time I was there. I won a goldfish in a bag in the cathedrals grounds about 40 years ago when they had a yearly festival on. They have semple stadium here which is very good. Feile was on in there a bunch of times.
Garron, you need to come over to Canada and do a town review of St. John's, Newfoundland. As Irish as it gets outside of your fair country. Accent as strong as any true born Irishman, tradition is spot on. It's very interesting (I think :) and might make a compelling video...plus you can come on down to Nova Scotia which is even more engrossing.
I agree. But I think he did a podcast or TH-cam where he was concerned about the disconnect between social media and reality. He didn’t want to get a big head. lol. I just discovered him myself, so I went all in watching his stuff. Best I can tell it has been a few months. I hope he gets discovered. The Irish John Candy with bad language.
@@philipmckeon8944 I thought I replied to this but I must not have hit send. Yes it appears that he is dribbiing out content for a few reasons. One, was to protect his mental health and not be all consumed with social media. Every single day you must push out stuff combined with newfound notoriety. I think he wants to stay a down to earth regular guy and not a superstar influencer. This way his content will remain fresh. But yes, I'm with you 100%. He is a bit gifted. He is also a musician and sings. But as an American person, I would expect no less from an Irish guy. way more impressed with his take on things.
2:00 Speaking of stationary, we have Stakelums, which is the one stop stationary shop I went to every year before starting the new year of primary school 👍 Also at 7:41 its pronounced ‘Holy Cross’ as in holy jesus
Tipperary is a gorgeous landscape. It’s mostly a rural countryside country with amazing views of rolling mounds of green. Thurles is a small town. If you are from the U.S it’s 100% worth visiting. The abby is mind-blowing and a gorgeous piece of Catholic history.
Looks like a castle keep there in Thurles. I'd like to see the Gaeltacht areas so I can try what little Gaeilge I know and get totally embarrassed...lol
Tesco is a bit of a Kip Garron. We have Thurles Shopping Centre which has Dunne Stores, IMC Cinema and a load of other shops. The famine museum is well worth a visit.
You have given me a few great ideas for holidays next year,,, I usually go back to sligo for three months, next year I'm going to save a ton of money and take a Google maps holiday....forget the planes fares, rental car prices..I'm going to sit at home and travel every inch of ireland in one night with google..I sometimes see people on the stree too I can pretend I know them .. I'll let u know how it goes..
Holycross Abbey Thurles ..... the distance between the Village of Holycross Thurles & Thurles Cathedral in roughly 5km; there are a few routes you can take, from Thurles Cathedral to Holycross Abbey & none of them are very safe roads for walker's but if you are youthful, alert & like to walk this distance them i'd recommended you do wear a high visibility vest of some type. You did not give it a mention but there's a Railway Station on the main Thurles/Holycross Rd, an Aldi Store on Thurles/Dublin Rd, a Dunnes Store immediately next door to the Lidl Store, a Greyhound Stadium, a Racecourse, two of 3rd Level Education Facilities, a Credit Union, an AIB Bank, a Meat Processing Factory (on the Thurles/Holycross Rd & 5 of Public Car Parks quite close to the Cathedral & Liberty Sq.
I'm not sure if you're taking requests, but my city of Central Falls is the smallest (by area) city in the smallest US state, Rhode Island! 25k people packed into one square mile! We could do with a review! (Also, Rhode Island isn't one big island as the name would suggest).
Garron please can you do a review of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and try not to swear 😂 because I want to share it on Facebook and my parents are on there xxx
A fun thing to do is to go through the list of people who played at the Féile in the early 90s and to go: No way that Bjork was in Thurles, or any of the other unecessarily large names who played there were there.
mb about the very powerwashable black stain on the library, I was obliterated by an orbital strike beam while admiring the modern cube chairs you get in shoezone sometimes
I have a few things that could add more points for Thurles my town 1. The 3primary schools 2.the 4 secondary schools 3.our lovely pubs and costcutter 4.and if you were wondering yes the Tesco is very big he didn’t check out dunnes either I could make this video go for an hour with how much I have to talk about history to all our different buildings😂😂
So Bits and Bobs sells bits and bobs... And pheasant Island is a literal island with pheasants... I appreciate the efficiency of their naming to be honest.
Nice tour but 10 point deduction for not zooming in on the dog in front of the grocery store
😂😂😂

Thanks a million for reviewing Garron, we're honoured 🙏🏻 glad you enjoyed Thurles 😁
Best way to start my day. Thank you for a good chuckle, Garron. You're my new fav x x
Ah Garron the stadium! Semple stadium, second largest hurling stadium sure
No mention of Féile?

Keep em coming!
I didn't know Tipperary was an actual place, but I did know *it's a long way to Tipperary, it's a long way to go.*
I used to go to a school in thurles and the castle was in front of it and the whole school went outside and they had a Santa on top of the castle
you r the only person i know that remembers this ive been going insane trying to find someone else who rememebrs this
??????

Ya do know he never leaves the couch when he does these!!! LOL
Tell me Beverly do you know if this guy is still putting out content? He has to be the funniest guy alive.

"Vegetation pubes" 😂😂😂😂....Lyons tea for the win lad.
2:00 Speaking of stationary, we have Stakelums, which is the one stop stationary shop I went to every year before starting the new year of primary school 👍

We're visiting Thurles from the states and found this to be highly informative. The TESCO is, indeed, quite long.

4:38 spectacular hardware shop, key cutting done inside
Do Cashel in Tipperary next 👌👌
A Biggy vs Tupac situation brewing was hysterical
Looks like a castle keep there in Thurles. I'd like to see the Gaeltacht areas so I can try what little Gaeilge I know and get totally embarrassed...lol

We even have a dunnes stores and aldi in thurles. And a cenima 👀😁
Tesco is a bit of a Kip Garron. We have Thurles Shopping Centre which has Dunne Stores, IMC Cinema and a load of other shops. The famine museum is well worth a visit.
We have Lidels in New Jersey, USA
How far afield would you go for a google town tour like this? Would you consider looking at the lovely little town of Hurstbridge in Australia?
How good would town tours be with garron? Wee pit stop to sample some lovely stale sandwiches with pear and stuff
I remember when it flooded, what a laugh it was. Luckily everyone had wellies on them
Love you Garron ❤.. also love your music... please cover the famine ... ps lol it was Holy Cross Abbey.. not Holly Cross Abbey
I know someone mentioned that you missed Hayes Hotel… Semple Stadium kinda a big miss too!
Otherwise this review was delicious!
As someone from Ireland i do not have that accent and it makes me die laughing everytime 😂
Irish roundabout--just a circle painted on the road. 😂
Loved the abbey. What a nice review.
Great video Garron, maybe sometime youl do a review of the capital of the Midlands Portlaois🙂
I insist you do this, but for a town in Australia, named after Ireland itself: Innisfail. Please and thank you, from an Australian

A fun thing to do is to go through the list of people who played at the Féile in the early 90s and to go: No way that Bjork was in Thurles, or any of the other unecessarily large names who played there were there.
Not to forget The Prodigy and Rage Against the Machine!
I lived near thurles, and you could hear the bands.
Lovely
Dan breen lived in that castle, during the war of independence.
mb about the very powerwashable black stain on the library, I was obliterated by an orbital strike beam while admiring the modern cube chairs you get in shoezone sometimes
To be fair, Holycross is more in the postal district of Thurles, rather than actually part of Thurles
Finally, you also forgot the Dunnes/Shopping Centre
Ya it's 3 miles outside the town, not in the town but very doable if you were visiting
Garron we gotta see u review kilcommon in tipperary
I think I was drunk here once on a fishing trip but the sea was miles away
Skibbereen museum is good for famine research 😊
I have a few things that could add more points for Thurles my town
1. The 3primary schools
2.the 4 secondary schools
3.our lovely pubs and costcutter
4.and if you were wondering yes the Tesco is very big he didn’t check out dunnes either
I could make this video go for an hour with how much I have to talk about history to all our different buildings😂😂
please do a video on the famine!
How could you miss Semple Stadium?😅
Sucking diesel? In context, this sounds like a compliment in the classic Irish style
Hi garron. Would you please consider doing a review of “Buckie” it’s a small town in Scotland. Would love to see what you think. Thanks, sexy.
The man has clearly never bought a yoke from Thurles but if he got excited by lidl he'd blow his load if he saw Dunnes.
Come to letterkenny, it's pharmacy central
