I can understand why they babying Inaki. He’s the youngest among the casts after all, like they all are 7+ years older than him. Plus gotta love his cheerful personality.
Let's not be malicious and spread rumors about Meckenyu not being friends with Inaki! Meckenyu is just a very reserved person and if you actually listen to his interviews about Once Piece you'll see how much he cares for the show and the rest of the cast. He's not very present in any of the social media content that we saw/see online just because at the time he was busy filming the live action movie "Saint Seiya" where he plays the protagonist. All of the cast members are very good friends and close to each other and obviously there might be some of them that are a bit more reserved and/or shy!
Unless you are Meckenyu, or his closest confidants, the public can only speculate. Perhaps an emotional wall was erected as a defense mechanism to protect one's own vulnerabilities accumulated through childhood trauma, or to hide one's intrinsic sensibilities that may be frowned upon (or expected of upholding) by varying cultures. For example, European or Latin American social interactions of newfound comradeship could be more gregarious and touchy touchy, compared to say, the Japanese. I assume Meckenyu's parents/household still abide by traditions of Japan where greetings are separated by a distant bow frather than embrace and kisses on the cheeks. Conditions in upbringing sticks with a person. We just don't know what's going on with this actor. Lets assume the best in people by giving them the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise.
Of course, Kirakoga! This is just the origin of the rumors, but that's all they are rumors, please take it with a grain of salt. As you said, it could all turn out to be incorrect assumptions 🙂🙂
I think Iñaki and Mackenyu are pretty good friends! They went on a big fishing trip together, recently. I'm sure the loud outbursts do get annoying sometimes, but I doubt that detracts from their friendship!
@@OSSAchannel I mean I get where people are coming from - he does look taken aback whenever Kiki is being loud, but speaking from experience with loud friends, and as someone who likes his peace and quiet - this is a VERY common response. Doesn't detract from our friendship whatsoever!
Seeing Mackenyu act cute and warm (even clingy) with his Japanese and Korean friends, I was really surprised how he behaves around his co-stars from the West (not only in One Piece). But it's probably because: 1 Mackenyu is already on a different phase in life, he's married and about to be a father; and 2 maybe because of cultural background. Yes, he was raised in the US, but he's lived most of his life in Japan. And it's not a bad thing. I still think they're all good friends; he's just that one cool and reserved friend among the group.
As much as I'm not as good looking as Mackenyu, I get his attitude towards them. I'm basically that guy in a circle of friends. The guy who only talks when talked to, I give advices, I'm not too fond if they're too loud, I rarely go out with them, but sometimes it just rubs off on me as well. But at the bottom of it all, they're my real friends.
Thats EXACTLY how I am u literally just described me completely, I'm such an unbothered person just like him and yet he's not my fav 😭 I wish he was but I just like Taz more 🔥
Don't let Mackenyu's expression fool you. As an Introvert, I feel for Mackenyu, who I think is also an introvert. Introverts don't like shouting/screaming/crowd in general. Apart from that, he is a good cast and a nice friend to Inaki.
I have japanese/british/brazilian roots and the japanese is predominant. The culture and values are kept and passed to next generations. Most japaneses are observers and don't talk too much.
You guys missed out on, the fact that Mackenyu ever post a story of him and Inyaki went for fishing together at early morning. The caption said "wake up early to go fishing with inyaki" or something like that.. Also Taz post a video of him practicing cutting a real big salmon, and mentioned Mackenyu thank him for organizing the special opportunity for him... So i guess Mackenyu definitely have a great relationship with them, but just a reserved person
there is nothing wrong with that, people need to understand that just because you're not as outgoing or talkative does not mean always that they hate being there, as an introvert sometimes just being there, listening and just existing with my friends is what makes me happy. I don't think Mackenyu hates Inaki, when the video of Inaki being given the strawhat both times mackenyu was like "i knew it! I knew you were going to say that!" in such a happy manner, if anything their relationship is really like Luffy and Zoro's friendship.
@@nycolleamendez5608exactly I feel like people don’t understand what it is like being more reserved in a sense I enjoy just being there and making subtle or rare remarks because just being there is enough and I really hope more people learn to understand this!
I'm so sick of Hollywood negativity, it's so refreshing to see this positivity and kindness. They're a fun, dedicated cast, I wish them all the best and look forward to future seasons.
Nah, Mackenyu is just playing his role. It's a role that he was very fond of. You can see some passion in some of the interviews. He just is like me, a corner goblin, which is a perfect match for Zoro. He's genuinely happy and I can tell. Corner goblins unite.
Mackenyu is just an introvert. And people often mistake this kind of behavior as rude or boring. As an introvert myself, it feels pretty upsetting that most of the people don't sense things like this :(
I have really good faith that the show will be great because of the cast’s undeniable chemistry! And also I don’t think Mackenyu is annoyed by Inaki at all, he’s just a timid guy lol
I know right. I just wana tell other ppl to Stop getting a wrong idea n stop starting a drama between them. They're fine, just diff personality honestly their personalities, same as their character. I guess oda really picked perfect cast
Mexican and japanese cultures are completely different so even if Iñaki and Mackenyu are not that close it doesnt mean they dislike each other. I'm sure both will keep it professional and keep doing a great job. :3
@@nexo1398I don't think being raised in a different culture prevents Two people to bond as friends. I'm friends with people with different backgrounds & close with them. If you watch closely in certain interviews you can see that Mackenyu and Inaki have good interactions and are close. Friend's don't necessarily have to have the same characteristics, which is good. One can be quiet and the other more talkative.
Mackenyu is that friend who tags along but will only respond if needed or the timing is right. Maybe being Japanese is a factor too as they tend to be reserved and conservative unless they are drunk. We know westerners are loud which 4 out of 5 of the members are.
You should watch his interviews in Japan. Especially in his Japanese co stars and friends. There are sometimes he is fun and he's laughed as well with his other Japanese co stars. But there are sometimes he is reserved as well.
I think their friendship dynamic is cool. when there are the loud, excited, adventurous there are also those who balanced it by being silently observing.
(1) Taz's confiding that he had been grappling with mental health challenges before he came into the Sanji role...I can't help but wonder if he'll channel the emotion of that past experience if the Netflix series should ever get far enough to delve into Sanji's past with the rest of the Vinsmoke clan. (2) The fact that Taz was there to support Inaki for Luffy's water scenes, it really causes me to think about how often Sanji's been the one to save Luffy when he's in danger of drowning. That camaraderie from the source material really translated onto the live-action screen. (3) Emily and Inaki's chemistry leading up to the "Help me" scene is truly a reflection of Luffy and Nami's chemistry in the franchise. For all that Nami gets exasperated with Luffy's idiocy, when it comes right down to it, she trusts him both as her captain and as a friend, and that bond fits so well here in live action as well. (4) Re Mackenyu, I say just give it time. Luffy took a while to grown on Zoro too, after all.
Need to understand the different of culture. It's rare to see Japanese celebrities posting their whereabouts online. He just need to be careful. The way he enjoys his time with the strawhats crew will be featured everywhere and labelled as American culture. I remember 1 show he featured on. He just stands up and takes a bottle of water, and they already commented as Macken is very American they can't predict his movements. Mackenyu also arrange some fish cutting session for Taz just to make him happy with the experience.
Mackenyu was born and raised in Los Angeles. Him being an introvert is perfectly fine without us trying to find some excuses like ‘it’s not his culture’ etc.
i agree with all except for mackenyu’s part. he totally loves them all and they love them too! and he’s normally a very calm person so that’s his normal reaction plus he is so funny and he has many funny moments behind the sevens and in interviews.
My personality shares alot in common with Mackenyu. I am an extrovert person but I am also abit reserved, letting others take space. This is because I grew up in a family where I learn how to respect and listen to other people. Doesn't mean I don't like to be in others company. I love being around people and get acknowlegded. Friends and family is everything for me.
I honestly am obsessed with Taz Skylar since this show came out and I saw some interview and copilations of him. He seems like such a genuinely kind and loving guy, which we need more of in this harsh world. And it is crazy how much that fits Sanji's character! The main thing about Sanji is kindness so I love that they chose such a kind guy to potray him. Perfect casting choice honestly.
Mackenyu does not have to be best friends with the rest of the cast. Mackenyu spent most of his adult years in Japan and the pretty much the whole country adores him. He might not fit in or share the same type of humor as the westerner cast. Just let the man do his job as Zoro.
Everyone seems such a perfect fit and that's really a huge chunk of what makes this an amazing show. They're all so different and unique, that the personality conflict gets developed into incredible cohesion was and remains necessary. Hopefully the actors keep faithful to that.
Coming from experience, you can be annoyed by somebody and still love them to absolute bits. I myself cant stand loud noise majority of the time and I have loud people in my life that make me react similarly. I often have to tell my brother "volume down". Some people are just sensitive to sudden loud noises and are reserved more than others.
Mackenyu is super busy.. He did more works at a time than the others, beside he has a family already (at least a wife, who is pregnant now, if I'm not mistaken), plus he's more of an introvert. He can get excited & loud out of nowhere, just not as much as others. It doesn't mean he's out of place
Please dont spread negative rumours about Mackenyu. Most of asian fans already know Japanese and Korean artist management is very strict and they control everything from schedule, wardrobe to social media. So he cant simply post or involve in any promotional program without the agency green lighting it.
I think Mackenyu being married makes a difference in the time he spends with the cast. He is likely spending his off days with his wife, whom he had dated many years before he got married. He also seems to be a lot more reserved than the rest, especially Inaki, who is kind of wild.
I think people forget that culture plays a role and Japan, in many ways, is polar opposite of what we're used to as far how people carry themselves in public, physical affection, mannerisms, etc.
He grew up in LA, he’s very well aware of what western culture is like. I’m not saying him being an introvert is bad or anything like that, but I doubt it’s a culture thing. That’s just the way he is, which is totally ok.
Makenyu work really hard cuz thats his fav. Character zoro. N plus pls no romance between crew. It will totally messup the whole story. Lufy ❤Boa approve. Also, i hope none of the fan encourage them to have rivalry because its better if they all close n stay friends.
Mackenyu is clearly Japanese and very likely to be an introvert. So it is obvious with the way he reacts. As an Asian, I have observed how “open and loud” westerners can be. And it’s definitely not a bad thing at all!! It’s just that when we are outside with a very outgoing group of friends, we tend to appreciate and cherish moments from afar. But we also appreciate intimacy- so we can be quite different when spending time together in a tightly knit group. Which ultimately means that privacy is very much appreciated! Mackenyu’s kind of people are one the best people you could have in your life. So I’d say he’s only doing what feels natural to him. We as an audience don’t have a say in his personal relationships and it’s nice to keep it that way. Unless he himself wants to explicitly say or do something, it’s okay to leave this speculation be. One could only hope it doesn’t turn into rumours. Besides, others have already pointed out the things he’s done with the actors and the way he talks about them in the interviews! When I saw his interactions with the crew right after binging OPLA, it warmed my heart. I mean it was my first time seeing a Japanese actor outside like that! So I had expected a few things he would do which he did!
mackenyu behave exactly like what Zoro would, being cool, calm, concentrated, and a little bit annoyed by other people. I dont know if he acted, or tried to stay in character as much as he could, but either way I am not bothered at all. Seeing real Zoro alive is everything fan would wish
Why is this a big deal? Are y'all close friends with all your coworkers or something? It's their job. This kind of obsession with their offscreen friendship is one of the main reasons actors get hate. If they get along with eachother, great, good for them. If they don't and are just being civil, it's also fine..
I think Mackenyu is just more reserved and professional, the rest of the cast is just more hyped and loud 😂 Taz also declared that he is best friend with Jeff Ward (Buggy) they went into hiking trips together
I don't think Inaki annoys Meckenyu. I think inaki just very boistuios and loud and Meckenyu just wasn't used to it. Also love that Meckenyu playing Zoro simply because he can just take a break if he wants from interviews and all the fans would be automaticly go "Yeah Zoro get lost again".
Inaki will be touching a lot of girls along the arc, what a lucky boy (such as got hugged a lot and hid inside boa cloth, kissed by Sanji sister when she tried to absorb poison, got surrounded by Amazon lily woman, landed in a giant booba of princess shirahosi ,) Inaki will get a huge fun time
if they get chopper right we may have more season and maybe brook franky and then maybe Boa the strawhats have some different nakama, from a tonakai, cyborg to skeleton the big challenge now is chopper
My favourite character is Zoro. He's strong, don't talk too much but he's loyal. I didn't watch the live action. I hope it's as good as the anime. After watching Samurai X - Keishin Batosai I thought I woudn't watch any live action but this one looks interesting.
Acting is a JOB. Most jobs don't get nosy qnd ask who your spouse is, and acting should be the same. Fans needs to have respect. It's just a person doing a job and just because they entertain on camera doesn't mean we have the right to pry into their private lives. Sure, its exciting to know things about them, but it can also build unhealthy attitudes towards actors that can interfear with their lives. I am a person thats half like Mackenyu and half like the others. I do enjoy fun and laughter, but sometimes there are times when it's overwhelming and I want to step back, so I understand that each person has the right to gage their level of tolerance. It doesn't mean they don't like each other, it just means certain ways at certain times aren't for them. There are cultural differences too. Mackenyu was likely not raised to be rambunctious and out there, where as other cultures enjoy it openly. I say, live and let live, be who each of us are, and gage yourself because we can only control ourselves. I really would like to be a part of a group like that, but most of us don't get that opportunity. I like them all just the way they are. Though I do hope they stay friends despite anyone's personality differences. They're in this series together and honestly they can make or break it. I'm going to enjoy it as long as it is enjoyable. One day I hope to see them on a panel, because they sure look like fun to hang out with, but at the end of the day we'll all go home to our own lives.
Mackenyu is the stereotypical serious no nonsense adult man. Which, imo, really affects his acting and not in a good way. He can't emote. When he tries, it comes across forced and awkward. The characters he portrays are not far off of who he is as a person and for the most part, he does a good job. It's when his character has an emotional moment, that he falls flat. I'm sure he enjoys being around the cast. Mackenyu is very much an introverted person, and the others are all extroverts to some degree. He just wants to hang out at a safe distance and not engage in the chaos that Inaki and the others get up to. He enjoys watching the chaos and chiming in, but not physically participating.
@@christalhannahlee4930 he did great in todome no kiss and movie our 30 minutes session, the master plan which is drama genre,so what kind of 'drama genre' that you watch and feel he is not good enough
Mackenyu is completely out of place with the rest of the group, he doesn't match their energy. Even Steven Ward and Jeff Ward look more comfortable arround these guys. I don't like Mackenyou as Zoro and his interaction with the group.
I will stop watching One piece all together if they start putting sexual relationships in the crew, and sex scenes, I like the show because it's not into selling sex for views....Netflix puts too much porny scenes into their shows as it is and it gets old fast nothing for the imagination...it makes the story look weak when the show is filled every two seconds with naked sex scenes, its trashy and tasteless...I love this show because they are keeping it tasteful and going back to when TV was proper.
I've always thought while reading the manga, that Nami and Luffy will someday ...far far far after he finds the One Piece, get married. She does after all routinely beat him senseless ...and he says it hurts lol. Like the Love Taps from Garp ^_^
Neither of them. As the video states, Oda does not want romance between the crew. They're love is adventure. This is a rule he holds in the manga as well and wants/expects the showrunners to comply with.
@@Violet_Odorata No, there's no 'depend' here. Oda, the creator of One Piece, already stated no relationships between crewmates. His world/characters his rules at the end of the day.

Kiki y taz son un amor 💘
Mackenyu's married, there's nothing romantic between him and Emily.
mackenyu behave exactly like what Zoro would, being cool, calm, concentrated, and a little bit annoyed by other people.
I think Mackenyu is just more reserved and professional, the rest of the cast is just more hyped and loud
😂
Taz also declared that he is best friend with Jeff Ward (Buggy) they went into hiking trips together
depends on his or her health stat , thats who is going to be the most charismatic person
Legends who waiting for live action boa Hancock comment
Inaki will be touching a lot of girls along the arc, what a lucky boy (such as got hugged a lot and hid inside boa cloth, kissed by Sanji sister when she tried to absorb poison, got surrounded by Amazon lily woman, landed in a giant booba of princess shirahosi ,) Inaki will get a huge fun time
if they get chopper right we may have more season and maybe brook franky and then maybe Boa the strawhats have some different nakama, from a tonakai, cyborg to skeleton the big challenge now is chopper
illegal to be this early
Mackenyu is married and Japanese if he was with Emily Rudd he would be fired from everything
“colorfull balls💀”
ig it will take more than 50+ years to catch up to where the manga is currently at
I love zoro❤❤❤
DO NOT SPREAD FALSE RUMORS
I really love them
awesome
who is kiki
uhhh doesn't mackenyu have a wife? this is kinda stupid
Taz ❤
❤🏴☠️
Mackenyu is a very quit and introvert person. He only say good things about Inaki.
The monster trio no the besto friendo trio
😮
Other than one piece, did you actually watch his other drama/movie?🙃you obviously just watch him in one piece and some tiktok edit
I've sadly watched the live action Rurouni Kenshin, but first saw him in Pacific Rim I think. @@fshhbsdn1434
He's good for action and romcoms. Drama is not really a good look for him.
@@christalhannahlee4930 he did great in todome no kiss and movie our 30 minutes session, the master plan which is drama genre,so what kind of 'drama genre' that you watch and feel he is not good enough
@@fshhbsdn1434 oh, I've watched those, too. I just can't really feel his acting.
🧿
This voice HAS to be ai
So is Emily going to be in love with Sunji or Luffy? I think Luffy.
It depends if the king of the pirates will be the wealthiest man on earth as Nami loves money 🤑.
@@Violet_Odorata No, there's no 'depend' here. Oda, the creator of One Piece, already stated no relationships between crewmates. His world/characters his rules at the end of the day.
@@maddym.5466 I said that in jest. I already know about that. Luffy's real love is only with meat.
I'm pretty sure that Emily will end as couple with one from the cast. She has the potential for that, like Peyton List from Cobra Kai.
