- Combat Advantage is not something you want to miss on, allowing you to gain up to 90% more damage against your enemy. The best companion to provide this reliably against a boss is the Black Death Scorpion! However you can usually just position correctly and flank your boss, but this can be hard when you are solo or impossible when against bosses like Tiamat and the Turtle in Fangbreaker. The benefit is massive and the price of the companion reflects this, so are there any alternatives? Here I cover 7 other companions that can also give this effect. We test their reliability, damage and uptime!

was literally just killing the beholder on tannis, some guy had a blink dog, I have a panther, 100% uptime because the blink dog does his thing right away and panther delays it, completely viable in group content
Blaspheme assassin has a skill which teleports her in the back of the mobs regularly... as a solo player you pretty much always have the agro and ennemies turn towards you, giving you a reliable combat advantage. There are probably more with such a skill
Companion AI stands for Absolutely Imbecilic.
Minsc is one of the worst, he constantly TELEPORTS to stand next to you, instead of kicking Evil's butt for Goodness with his bigger sword!

If not an Epic account in Zen Market, they could put a Legendary account in Reaper's Challenge.
But they already said they wouldn't do this, nor will they release the other Raptors they had planned for Chult.

If iam not wrong theres a companion from redeem citatel for 20k favors or so that in theory gives CA also.
Have you tested the Skeleton bevor its Buff Stacks ob Boss if maby 6 dps Use it it could be realy good for singeltarget
I have a Paladin tank and sometimes I switch out to my healer but I’m trying decide which one I should use for both Black Death Scorpion or Spined Devil
Just so you know guys, any Advanced Dungeon has a chance to drop this companion. Recently did LoMM because one guy from our alliance wanted help so I joined and from the last chest I got Black Death Scorpion which I already sold.

Lol I also get rare drops whenever I help someone in game. That's how I got my Xuna and how I finnaly got the weapons from Moondancer.
The Redeemed Lockboxes can pull the comp pack with black death scorpion also
Do you know if they changed the companion option in the Menzo choice pack from the Precipice of War ?
I claimed the Minsc comp which says account wide but I cannot claim it on any other toon !! its not there, did they do a sneaky one ? lol ty
Did you check with Rewards Claim Agent? I have account-wide Minsc, but there were several boxes and in some he was not account-wide.

@@Aragon- Just submitted a ticket, 100% was an account wide Minsc, lets see what they say
I remember that was one of the reasons i wanted to buy the premium pass, but took so long to decide that when i finally made up my mind i inspected the PP and there was no more Minsc, i don't remember if it was because that particular season was over or not, but yeah, they change it and i end up saving some money instead.

Hey Aragon, so in ur tests of ca with swashbuckler u rightly say that her shield charge gives 50% uptime for ca, ive just looked at her again and saw that her slash with 2sec cooldown also gives ca, is she now giving 90% uptime?
it is 50% uptime, regardless what she uses to trigger it. I looked at the exact % of my damage overall
@@Aragon- ok, I figured with 2 skills giving ca the uptime would have to be more, but I guess it could still come out at 50%, I can't get that info on ps so thought I'd see what u thought, thankyou
Dancing Blade and a few others grant CA (for the team) less than 50% uptime though
These all grant for the team, with the uptime I have in the table
I just play Warlock dps, no need for any combat advantage from companions
it's strange that Swashbuckler in your table 40260 and here according to the test 26,761 hmm
Because as I said, this is with its own combat advantage. So half the time it deals a lot less damage because it is without combat advantage!

Oh man... Aragon, dude, with this information it wouldn't be a surprise if Cryptic checks it out and decides to nerf the CA from scorpion, making it competitive with other companions lol
