I am an everything seller and track sales based on each estate sale or auction, which will change. I would also like to track lots at auctions. If there is a limit to the number of stores, then I would not be able to track it correctly based on purchase location. I would also like to see the purchase date on the inventory page, not only the listing date. Compared to the list date, the purchase date is a good point of reference for your death pile. How long is inventory taking up space? In another video, when talking about refunds, you mentioned that a return of 15.00 was sent to the client, but you would receive a fee refund from eBay. Where is that refund for me included in the sheet? It should be noted in the eBay fee line to show the fees paid accurately. Am I missing something?
Hi Jason, love the spreadsheet! I was curious if you think I could put my sku # in the bin location or should I just enter that in my description? My "bins" are just boxes labeled numerically in order and I re-use ziplocs for those boxes. Basically, I would have 500 plus bins if I put it in the bins tab, is that okay?! Any advice? Thank you!
Quick question! Is there a way to transfer the inventory page from the 2023 sheet to the 2024 sheet? Copy and paste? Or is there some other way to do it rather than manually? Thanks!
Great Video! I've never done consignments but since your paying out a portion of the profit to someone else, how does that work with taxes? Do you need to record the portion you pay out as an expense or loss or do you just count the profit and loss as normal.
Just bought the spreadsheet. I did not use a spreadsheet prior to this. How do I account for sales made in 2024 with inventory purchased in 2023? Can I enter a different year in the spreadsheet to log my COGs? Otherwise, it does not make sense to record a sale in 2024 from a prior year inventory because there will be no data. Thus, the total sales/profit in spreadsheet would not match what is reflected in the sales platform (ex. eBay).
Hey, thanks for your order! In my own sheet I have inventory purchased from previous years that I still record into the current years sheet when I make the sale. You can do the same on yours. For cost of goods, I account for those as expenses in the year that I purchase. Is that what you do too?
Tayler, great question... COG's will be zero because you didn't buy them for the business. You purchased them to wear and now are deciding to sell them. Is that correct?
@@jasonmhayes yes that’s correct! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! Also do you keep your receipts of goods purchased for reselling filed away once the info is recorded on the spreadsheet?
Hey Jason- I'm sure it's in one of your videos, but I can't find it. Help please. How do I handle purchase in bulk of the same item. I understand to enter 10 units for inventory, how do I handle the sale when only 1,2 or 3 are sold at a time?
Great question, Kathy! When I have multiple quantity items, I tytpically enter one line for each item, even if they're all the exact same, that way I can copy and paste into the sales tab and then delete it out from inventory. You can do that, or... if you want to do one line quantity 10, you'll simply copy and paste that line into the sales tab and then you'll want to change the quantity to 1 or however many sold. Then you'll reduce that number as well in your inventory tab. Does that make sense?
I've been using Ginger Marvin's spreadsheet for a year. I've got 950 some items. How hard is it going to be to transfer all those listings without having to do it manually one at a time?
If you're interested in watching a quick video, there's a short tutorial on my channel that will show you roughly what the inventory tab looks like, which I hope would give you a better idea on what you would want to enter into the sheet. You may be able to copy/paste from Ginger's sheet, but I just don't know for certain.
Hi. I rewatched the video and I corrected a few things, BUT now it will not show anything on Platform Sales Trends tab...it says Under the % of Sales a error "Error Function DIVIDE parameter 2 cannot be zero." What am i doing wrong?

Hey! this is bookmarked in the video towards the end. Did you happen to see it?
@@jasonmhayes I watched the video but didn’t see it-I’ll go back and check again!
@@jasonmhayes ok, found it! I’m not sure why I commented on the Creator sheet since I bought the Premium, but I did find it! Thanks so much!

I always record “commission” as an expense for monthly payouts

I had the same question. So you would love the cost of goods $0 for this year then? Just want to make sure I’m understanding
I have another question. I’m just starting out reselling. If I’m decluttering and selling my preloved clothing, how do I account for COGs?
