    She was SO pretty before any of her surgeries. It's a shame that women are made to feel ugly as they age, especially if they have a full face naturally.

      This is why I would stay away from removing buccal fat. People do this just to later fill the area with grafted fat or filler…

    Great explanation. Thank you! It looked to me like she had received a lip lift, so when you said that, I felt pretty darn smart. I'm glad it can be corrected. She looks so extreme and unnatural. She is beautiful. Hollywood and our society pressure women (and men to a lesser degree) to remain youthful. It is sad.

      My pleasure. Yes, we face many pressures to stay beautiful and relevant. I think there are subtle and artistic ways, with the occasional help of lasers and fillers and surgery, to age gracefully.

      It's easy to pass judgment on others when you live a completely different life. I'm sure you would only have positive things to say if her surgery went well. If it looked natural & better. But since it went wrong, all she gets is criticism. As if humans are never insecure & when given the resources they always choose to rise above the desire.
      It seems you would make a better Demi than she would. Go on, be her and see how much better you can do.

    Hi doctor. Honest/silly question... just out of curiousity, why can't buccal fat removal be reversed? Why can't they make an incision in the cheek, insert fat, or a donor buccal fat into the incision and then stitch it back up? I know it's a silly question but I think a lot of people want to know lol

    • @jonathanzelkenmd
      @jonathanzelkenmd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Buccal fat removal can be reversed by grafting (your own) fat back into the buccal space but I have never had to do that and wonder why anyone would want it done. If the result is too drastic it is possible that subcutaneous fat is deficient.

    Ladies, LEAVE your damn face alone. It's as simple as that. You know most plastic face surgeries look fake as hell. Even celebrities going to the best doctors, you can tell. And it's usually noticeable, and not in a good way, more than natural looking. Love who you are. I'm 63 and wrinkled. Do I wish I had less wrinkles, yes? Do I want to chance looking swollen or sunken in, more than natural? NO!

    Why, why, why, why, WHY do women continue to do this to their faces??? There are plenty of examples they can use as examples to see why they shouldn't, but most go ahead and do it anyway. The most beautiful women in Hollywood (and elsewhere) refuse to age gracefully, and instead choose to disfigure themselves rather than live with a few wrinkles. WHY, WHY, WHY? If one person reads this comment and chooses not to go down this road, I would be so happy. Please, PLEASE stop butchering and disfiguring yourselves. No one can stop aging, and no one lives forever. Don't ruin your God-given face for the rest of your days. Sometimes I think beauty is truly a curse, because people come to depend on it and it becomes their identity instead of their actual character, and they don't know how to let it go. They literally ruin themselves trying to keep hold of it. No one can keep their youth. Come to terms with that fact and you'll be happier for it.
