I love this format. This is when I got introduced to Yugioh. I bought the Dragons Collide structure and played janky playground chaos dragons. I want to get back into the meta at the time. I know one of my friends loves Hero and Darkworld so this format is perfect for him too.
Yeah, I realized that from a previous comment. If I was a bit more "in the format" that would have dawned on me when I first summoned it - but you are correct.
Nice Match =) I always liked playing against Inzektors with Wind-Ups the least, since the match up felt kinda the worst in comparison with the other decks of that period. Anyways, regarding that play on Effect Veiler vs Magician + Shark combo: Magician (and also Factory) trigger after the effect of the Wind-Up monster is resolved, meaning that you would have to summon the Shark in whatever position you choose and then you could trigger the Magician on a new chain, to which your opponent would respond with Effect Veiler. Not that it really mattered in that situation, but just to clarify =) Looking forward to more new historical content! ;)
I know everyone and their mother has made a video about that but I'd really love an introduction of yours into Hand Control 2003 & Chaos Yata 2004 due to your exceptional analytical video style.
Always love this stuff as Yugioh is my biggest passion. Curious if your focus is only on the meta tiers of that format you are looking at? Or is it possible to get some love for some extremely unknown decks that maybe just did not have the push that the meta decks had but have a rather high ceiling regardless? For example, I’ve already asked about 2007 GB which I think have amazing potential under that list and just before the release of LaDD. But also Original six Sam Volcanic monarch Big/ little city 2007/2008 Phantom darkness Giga plants 2011 Watts (Joey David 2011 Nats watt) Junk and debris in space T-Thunder 45/ plasma control of 2008 Sandayu beasts Just to name a small few.
It all depends on if I actually have the cards. Big City is on the way - I recently picked up Ultimate Hero Cities. Some of the other decks listed might involve cards I do not own. I will ideally focus on the "top decks" first - then start chipping away at other decks. At the end of the day - I plan on doing this for awhile so you will eventually see a little bit of everything.
-Great stuff Joe! I've always loved your commentary and hearing you talk about your philosophy on the game! (I still remember the play you made with Photon Papilloperative and Leviar to Mole Lock the opponent under Messenger of Peace! Just amazing, and got me small goosebumps reading about it! 💪💪💪😁) -Can hardly wait for your feature of inzektors! (my favorite deck back in the day even though many people hated it...😅😅) I personally teched 3 Divine Wraths in Inzektors because it often completely trumped the most common outs to Dragonfly-Hornet, such as Laggia and Dolkka, Effect Veiler, etc. And because the opponent often didn't expect Divine Wrath, I was often able to completely shift the game in my favor by still resolving a huge combo despite their outs! Plus with Wrath I could dump an inzektor in the grave, and then either Reborn or COTH it back it! 😁😁😁 -My full current decklist is here: www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=3791301 I'm very much looking forward to your take on Inzektors! -I was also wondering if you'd have thought about perhaps organizing some online tournament playing with certain formats such as Goat, Tele-Dad, March 2012 no priority, etc. Or even a tournament with our own (democratically) made F/L lists! For example without 'instant win' and' braindead' cards' like Card Destruction, BLS, Avarice, Morphing Jar. (And probably my Hornet to 1 as well, in order to force me to be more careful/skillful using it as my trump card! 😆😇😇). Please keep up the good work! 😇😇😇
1. Love to hear it! 2. Yeah, Divine Wrath seems strong. I will be including some in my side deck. 3. Mine has similar elements. No Trooper though. Guiaba bait! 4. I am not sure I have the time/resources to actually run tournaments. I have thoughts about expanding for sure - I will think about it!
@@YGOHistory Awesome! 3. Ahh that's right! I do think Divine Wrath (and even Effect Veiler) can help mitigate the problem of Guaiba and the Evolzars, but it's definitely a good option to side out against Rabbit! 😊 I do still love the fact Trooper digs so well for Hornet, combos great with COTH, and can run over Sabersaurus and Kabazauls.😄 I'm very interested in your ideas on another way to dig for Hornet, or perhaps even the idea that we might not even need more ways to dig for Hornet! 😊 4. I'll be waiting anxiously! 😁😁😁 I haven't played since 2013, and I'd love to get back into it! Especially playing these kinds of formats! 😇😇😇
I think it was fine to Heavy when I did G2 but having Storm would have obviously been nice! It happens. I REALLY should have added Dust Tornado to the side.
Floodgates win so many games. Nothing feels worse than having the perfect cards to make a big play just to be stopped by a onesided floodgate like that. You played well but such games are the only reason i am hassitating to play formats like this. I tried playing some Pre-XYZ era format but all my buddies are doing is normalsummoning/setting a X-Saber/ gravekeeper/ T.G. and setting 4-5 backrows mostly warnings judgement and floodgates. Lets just say it got really infuriating really quickly...
Floodgates have ALWAYS existed in YGO history. I think I should have included two copies of Dust Tornado in my side. That would have helped against potential Safe Zones + floodgates. I also could have easily held Heavy Storm longer in G2. Don't let the floodgates discourage you! Triple Typhoon, Storm and you side deck were usually enough! Plus floodgates like Skill Drain were (sometimes) countered by Book of Moon, Torrential Tribute and more commonly Forbidden Lance.
@@YGOHistory don't get me wrong I am fully aware of the importance of floodgates and later on handtraps for the health of the gate. But when I think back in time to all these formats since I came back to the game in 2007 I don't think of the time that floodgate won/lost me the game. Instead I am hyped about all the crazy and amazing interactions different archtypes of that time had. Nothing feels worse for me than getting your dreams crushed by something you cant consistantly control for. Sure I can try to my best to jank out a win by beat down with 1800 atk creatures or something like that but to be honest that is not what I came to play for nor what I enjoy. I enjoy the puzzle aspect of the game. Finding the perfect combo/line to break a boardstate apart/ trading resources in a way that leave my enemy with close to nothing when he didn't expect it. ^^ Sorry for the length of this little article. I think i kind of used this as a little therapy session for myself. As always thank you for responding and giving feedback. Keep up the great work.

This was an amazing gameplay video and a great showcase of this format. I really love your gameplay videos and hope you do more sometime soon!
New title: gozen vs wind up
I guess I should have held Heavy G2.
I loved this video so much.
Giorlando: *plans 4d plays in parallel universes*
Regular yugioh player: Haha summon machine goes brrr
Magician 1 Veiler 2 is a new chain so Shark's position has to be determined before the Veiler
Yeah, I realized that from a previous comment. If I was a bit more "in the format" that would have dawned on me when I first summoned it - but you are correct.
I loved playing Inzektors the combos with giga-mantis/sword with hornet/MST were insane.
I talk all about that in the deck profile which is coming out in the next 24/48 hours! I even talk about using MST in battle phase to dodge Veiler

Meet Inzektors, the most glass cannon deck to ever exist lol. Great match!

So I made a match video involving Hand Control. I will eventually profile the actual deck.

@@YGOHistory which do you think is likely to come sooner
Modern tier 0/1 decks, or historical tier 2 decks?
@@timothybeauvais6728 How modern are we talking? I cannot go far past 2014.
