Well that is an excellent question. Square dancers tend to be kids of square dancers until they reach their 20s or so. Then they get married, have kids and work their butts off. After the kids head off to college and they become empty nesters, they come back in their 50s and keep going till they can't go any more. Major festivals, there is always an "under 21" or so hall. They adults don't generally go into this hall, mostly because they can't keep up. Here is video from a EWASCA festival with the kids at the end of the weekend - we call it the "die Hard" because they dance for an hour with no breaks. The kids are at about 0140 into the video. th-cam.com/video/qigGYA6DGI8/w-d-xo.html&frags=pl%2Cwn&ab_channel=SquareDancers
Ah yes, well we don't generally dress up for DBB, although you'd be welcome to. I assume you could dance this with no problem however. Our next DBD week is Aug 21-26 in Maggie Valley TN. Alas Jerry is no longer with the living.
I was in square dancing longest time and isure misses it very much
Haven't been able to dance for over a year now because of COVID precautions. Live vicariously now with TH-cam SD videos.
Hopefully it won't be long now. Have you tried Virtual Dancing?
