    Brass plaque with hunt date, location, weight, and caliber/firearm used mounted under it on the stone. That would look nice in my opinion.
    Congratulations and it looks good!

    Nice to see ya knot the electric cables, it's so simple, but so effective.

      Yes, and it’s a safety thing, too. Losing power in the middle of a cut or bore can bind a tool and cause your work to get thrown around.

    GREAT! I really like the idea of using wire to attach the antlers to the back instead of screws, much easier for me.

    Great video as always, my friend. And what a great inexpensive idea! I love it. There's also a fantastic place here in Greensboro that sells every imaginable type of stone. I'm sure Flagstone would look great!

    Awesome video, though I personally would have placed the oldest buck in the middle because it had different stone so I thought it would look better to have that in the middle for the symmetry, just me though, still looks great.:)

    Looks great. Do you think a stiff nylon brush would be adequate to remove the cooked tissue?

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the front, maybe. However, it really needs to be cut off in some places, for sure.

    I would have done the mount differently. By using a belt sander to make the skull fit the stone better.

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s certainly one way to do things differently. Not sure that would make a difference in appearances though.

      TWANGnBANG it's that I don't like that rough look of the bone. The belt sander makes a cleaner look, less rough.

    Now that's going to be useful when I actually get that Ohio whitetail this year.

    Another cool video. I'm going to try a European mount when I get my first hanger. Our nations hunting heritage is all DIY, so hooray for "making do". How'd it go with wifey?

    5$ If you have a 250$ hammer drill a 50$ butane torch bailing wire and a spool of leather lace. Got it.

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hammer drills can be had for $15 (I paid $70 for the one in the video), and you can use a regular drill if you want. Butane torches are about $5.

      ...just as I explicitly said in the video.

      Most people who hunt would probably have all other than the leather lace

    Where can I source rock like that in NC? I'm in Fayetteville but I get near Raleigh pretty often.

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any rock supply place. Ask if they let you pick pieces of thin wallstone. I went to Southern Stone Supply in Raleigh.

    Ahhh, bro! Beautiful rack and this IS nice antler mount! But your first nice mulie? Shoulda been a full mount! LOL Or did they not cape it when they butchered it out for you?

    • @GrumpyGenXGramps
      @GrumpyGenXGramps 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess what's really cool is that you do have the entire hunt on video! So THAT is kinda a "full mount". LOL

    • @TWANGnBANG
      @TWANGnBANG  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t mount heads. Just not into them. I much prefer this type of mount which is why I do it.
