Turn It Upside Down by Spin Doctors may be my favorite record ever and it was released that year. Cake put out their debut album, Motorcade of Generosity. Weezer put out the Blue album, which is a top notch record. Of course Green Day released Dookie that year. Counting Crows and Gin Blossoms were huge that year promoting their albums but technically neither was released in 1994. Counting Crows put out August And Everything After in 1993 and Gin Blossoms put out New Miserable Experience in 1992 actually but that thing was huge in 1994. Dinosaur Jr released Without A Sound that year. Toad The Wet Sprocket put out Dulcinea in 1994 and that album is incredible too. Morrissey also really released Vauxhall and I that year, so yeah a lot of great stuff came out in 1994.
Hey Shibbler! Really like this video and hope you keep making videos like this... (I'm a huge Elliot Smith fan, was waiting for you to mention him- Roman Candle is phenomenal)
Subbed cause you seem like a chill cool guy 👍. Are you familiar with Starflyer 59? Their album from that year (titled Silver) is incredible. Way ahead of its time
Brah I can’t tell you how wild this is.. my wife and I were talking best music blah blah.. we settled on 1994.. Sid a search for why is 1994 the best year for music and your vid posted 6hrs ago.. haven’t watched it yet but the coincidence was just too wild not to comment on … 🤯
You heard tricky say “skip hip data to get the antimatter, blue lines are the reason why the temple had to shatter” and said “yea this is pants” ????? Please keep your takes to yourself from here on out Joe Slee
Wow, really? I’d be curious to hear why you think so. I admit bias because my favourite album of all time came out in 1992, but I can think of a good amount of other great albums from that year. Rage Against The Machine’s self titled debut, Neil Young’s Harvest Moon, Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted, the first Selected Ambient Works album by Aphex Twin, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, just to name a few. I concede that I wasn’t around back then and I don’t know what the wider music landscape looked like at the time or much of what was going on in the world, but it seemed like a pretty good year in terms of album releases.
Clicked when I saw GBV in the thumbnail, subbed when you opened with Ween.
we love you shibbler
Whether or not it's objective I find it valuable to see you asking that question.

@Shibbler sorry for the pedantry, but that line was delivered by 3D. Great line, though. And album!
Because you love pavement and guided by voices, I can’t recommend ‘bakesale’ by sebadoh highly enough.
Ah man, yes! I have heard it, just forgot to mention it clearly. “Magnet’s Coil” is one of my favourite rock songs from the nineties
Must've been, Oasis became a thing and Manics and Suede were still in their legendary periods.
Just realised reading your comment that I forgot the Manic’s ‘The Holy Bible’ came out in 94. Whoops!
I think 1992 was the worst year for music, but I haven’t put as much thought into what the best year is
